I don't think he did understand it. Kieron mentioned that many players would be upset over this change, and those players may leave EVE. If they were simply cutting out GTC resellers like Amber Leonne and making the system automated through the account system then why would he say that?

This has got to be a seriously late April fool ... Imho
CCp runs on Euros or dollars. to earn a living / reason for its existance. , from a player base ie us the player . Not an imaginary made up, in game, currency. CCp then decides to sell its 'Time' for the currency ingame. - Hmm how many RAMdiscs can be bought with isk / hoopaloopa / Make up name here... as many times as you like...
Gotta be an April fool.

If CCP realy intends to outlaw private GTC selling and intends to sell GTC for isk themselves instead - all I can say is respect!
Nice isk sink, good for slowing inflation, and people can not buy isk for RL cash anymore.
Very nice.

This is a partial copy of an email I sent to CCP with a proposed solution, I am posting it here as well so there is a better chance they will see it and take notice.
Your post created more questions than it provided answers I think, it was quite unclear what you are going to do. I have a suggestion here (I know my chances of being listened to are next to 0, but i've got to try)
This solution will do the following:
* Allow people with lots of time/isk to purchase game time with ISK * Allow people with little time/isk to sell game time for ISK * Stop resellers getting GTCs with ISK and selling them on eBay
This means that people can put cash into the game, which is good for those that want an isk boost, good for those that want to buy time for isk, and good for CCP because subscription numbers increase.
I know a lot of people with a lot of accounts (myself included) that would not be playing them if it was not for GTC to ISK.
Now, to my proposed solution...
Change GTC from Game Time Code to Game Time CREDIT
Have these credits as items accessable through the my account pages.
Allow people to buy them, as they already can, with the OPTION to activate them.
For those that want to sell them for ISK, allow them to do that as they already can, or, make a market type system in my account with buy and sell orders for game time.
The main feature is that when you buy game time credit from someone, it is automatically applied to your account. That means that you cant sell it on.
This will prevent people from buying GTC for ISK then selling them for CASH on eBay because there is no longer any code, and no longer any way to resell GTCs.
Now, the business side... This will maintain the status quo as far as CCP is concerned, they still make extra money from all the subscriptions that run from GTC to ISK, believe me, if you shut that option down, you would lose thousands if not tens of thousands in revenue.
The issue would be for the shatteredcrystal type resellers, since there are no longer any codes. You would get around this in one of two ways, the first would be a referral system, and the second, and by far the best, is to offer them a simple API.
With a simple API the GTC resellers (real ones) would simply have to add an 'account name' field to their order form, and the buyers would recieve a game time credit in their account, which they could either activate or sell for isk. Again, the only major difference is that there is no actual code.
Using the above solution, it is impossible to sell GTCs that have been bought with ISK, so this completely eliminates the ISK>GTC>EBAY situation which in my mind, is totally disgusting.
Hopefully you guys will use this solution or come up with another one that addresses all of the points. This situation, if you pardon my french, is very easy to **** up royally, so I hope you guys can get it right!
Thanks for reading once again, and thanks for doing something about these unscroupulous ********s that are ******* up our game.

I'm not referring to the appropriateness of buying isk for real cash.
My remark is a reaction to Kieron's unclear post. It sounds like CCP will sell you game time for isk...which would be the same as Hasbro selling you games for Monopoly money. This doesn't make sense to me.

No, Eve as you perceive it is not the game he's looking for. You however are an idiot so its not much of a stretch to realize that you have zero clue what the hell you're talking about, and can safely be ignored on that fact.
As far as your pathetic attempt to wittily reply to my earlier attempt at educating you on realities, economy doesn't care about in-game or out of game. The fact remains that there are not enough "high-end" jobs where you don't end up grinding for your money that everyone who so wishes them can have one, thats a basic premise of having something to lose in the game. Unfortunately you're too retarded to understand that fact.
I understand that, you fail to grasp that Eve is, as you pointed out, designed this way, and people who buy ISK with RL money circumvent the design.
I wasn't trying to be witty, your posts simply don't warrant proper responses. -

ARGH! And stop posting 'CCP can't do this, they'll go bankrupt'. Clearly they can, or they wouldn't. They've almost certainly given it more thought that you have. And they've got access to there account books, so they'll know whether it's feasible or not.
For example - maybe if you play using ISK, you get ingame ads? That's where CCP will be getting their cash from? Kieron said he couldn't release all the details - that means there are more details yet to be disclosed (I shouldn't have to point this out, but apparently I do), we are not in possession of all the facts. CCP will no doubt not be giving out game time for free (although it's not beyond the realm of possible, I believe anarchy online is free?), wait and see what they have up their sleeve.

Woah, what?
You can buy game time (not the lack of the word card there) for ISK.
I.e instead of paying ú15 a month to play, you pay 125M ISK. (Or whatever the want).
The traditional method will still exist.
The GTCs will still exist.
You will not be able to buy GTC from another player for ISK, because you can buy the game time from CCP directly, for isk.
Not hard to follow, don't see why everyone is insulting Kieron. Makes perfect sense to me.
Look at it like this: I'm a student. I can pay all my bills, but this game is a luxury. I can spend the time to make 125M a week, I use one week to pay for my time in Eve, and the other three weeks what I want. Rinse and repeat. I don't have to pay CCP anything.
That's what has been posted.
To those few people that did pick up on it correctly: yes, that means that technically, everyone playing Eve doesn't need to pay any real money at all.
I love this idea because, like I said, I'm a poor student. But on the other hand, it makes no sense - where will CCP get the money from to generate new content etc? With a single shard universe like this, the pay-for-expansions won't work. The only other option is pay-for-content (i.e. I pay real money for a Scorpion). I quite like that idea, I think it's what Sony are/were trying to do with EQ. It reduces the ebuyers, makes it a safe transaction (cause it's being done with the developer), and would reduce farmers, unless they thought they could give you more isk for your real money.
Hmm.

Yes they can - they just don't do it via time-card sales or within the EULA. Instead of the $15 (or whatever) going to CCP, it'll go to the ISK-farmer's bank account. Sure, they can (and will) ban people for it - that's what every MMOG developer says and does. They absolutely will not be able to prevent it, though.
Unless there's a second part of this announcement which reads something like "You will now be able to buy ISK directly from CCP with RL cash", this plan has an incredibly high chance of being very bad for the game. |

You are, because there are people who can basically print ISK, but they got there by virtue of being A) lucky, B) in the right timezone, C) happened to sign up first. None of those seem like any kind of system for a GAME to determine who gets their stuff easiest. And like I said this comes from a person who works hard for their ISK, probably harder than you do, because I purchase gametime with ISK.

Wait and see.
I'm betting the ability to buy gamteime to resell though the acc management page is going to be limited. As in: you can sell only as much gametime as you're bought for your own accounts. Just as example, but that is one aspect that also always has been missing from the "arrangement" so far.

Maybe Amber Leonne should just get banned for GTC conversion. There goes your argument.
Banned? What she is doing is within the EULA, that is why this situation needs to be addressed.

now casual players buy 100m and spend them on whatever.
if all the casual players cant afford whatever anymore, then a) prices for whatever will decrease or b) they will not be the only one who dont have whatever --> not hac vs hac, but cruiser vs cruiser
sounds pretty fair to me
1) 2) 3) ? 4) profit! .......?
