There seems to be a bug for me with the latest EFT version displaying base speed of ships wrong, occasionally. I'm not sure what causes it, but every once in a while a setup just bugs and base speed is reduced drastically.
Currently have EFT display the base speed of an Ishtar fit at 53m/s, and a Tengu fit at 53m/s as well (with skills). There's no projected effects or anything.
I used to be able to fix it by copying the fit, deleting it, closing EFT and then re-importing the fit - but not anymore.
Did anyone else experience similar issues and knows how to fix them for good, by any chance?

Cloak?
Mmmkay.. if anyone asks, I will deny this ever happened. *coughs*
Yeah, in this case it was really cloaks. Also explains why no amount of re-importing the fits made a difference whatsoever. I could, however, swear that the same thing happened on ships that had no cloaks fitted at all. Then again, maybe my memory is playing tricks on me to make me feel a little less dumb..

I dont know if somebody else mention this problem in the 156 pages of this topic... I think the programmer didnt take under consideration the 2nd decimal of the numbers resulting in big distortions of the calculations. For example in game my capacitor depletes in 4m 25secs while in EFT it takes 4m 49secs to deplete. The diference is that in game Excess Capacitor recharge rate is -8.03 GJ while EFT considers it -8.0
Anyone else noticed that?

As with some of the other comments, I am not going to look through the other 150-odd pages to find out if this bug as been addressed: The CPU and powergrid is wrong for the 1mn Microwarpdrive 1. IN GAME is: 10MW and 15CPU IN EFT: 15MW and 25CPU.
Even with the bugs, thank for such a great tool!

Edited by: Vampia on 25/03/2010 19:11:16 Edited by: Vampia on 25/03/2010 19:06:27 I am having the 'Connection Failed' error when trying to import my API information...
Any suggestions on a fix for this? API stuff works just great in some of the other utilities, just seems to be EFT that's throwing a fit about something.
Running Win 7 x64, tried running in XP w/ SP3 compatibility mode as well with the same result. It's definitely not a firewall issue either as I've disabled the firewall while trying and still get the same result. The error pops up so fast you'd think that it's not even trying to connect to the API to load the data.

He's not joking, it's there. My guess is that Gripen neglected to change the actual changes.txt file since 2006 and had said trojan on his system at the time. Can't think of any other reason why my anti-virus would not allow me to use this program because of a changelog :)

Okay, then there is either a bug in the calculations of EFT for the requirements according to pilot skills or there is a bug in Eve. I downloaded my pilot to EFT (and double checked by cross-checking the skills) and after fitting, the 1mn MW remains at 15MW and 25CPU, but when I actually fit it in Eve it goes to 10MW and 15CPU.
Thoughts?

Anyone who gets a virus warning for the Changes.txt file in the EFT zip file linked by the op should really consider to change out the anti-virus software to something that doesn't sucks ass.

The numbers aren't 9 and 12, they are 2.9 and 2.12. It is confusing for people who don't understand that it's not a decimal, even though it is written as if it was one.

They'll stay where they are.
Actually, I just did this, and they get overriden. Cheers for the bad info.

Hi,
i'd like to point out that DPS graph in EFT doesn't show DPS sentry drones do when in falloff nor does it show real sentry drone optimal range when it is augmented with modules like "Omnidirectional tracking link I".
any chance of fixing it in near future?:D
sorry if this is already known and commented on.

Same problem here: Trying to import my API information and get a "connection failed".
But, with an older version of EFT (2.6) it works! And I check the infos at the EVE API Access Log page (http://www.eveonline.com/api/log.asp): If I connect with EFT 2.6, I see my own IP adress. But if I connect with EFT 2.12, I see a complete different IP adress!

If you had used 2 secs to read longer up, you would see that there is NO viruses in the EFT file that you can download from the op's first post.
Anti-Virus programs that gives alot of false warnings is something that i refuse to use at all.

Just got a warning from Commodo Internet Security, detecting a trojan virus within 'Changes.txt' (picture) upon extracting the latest version , first time I've seen this message. From what I've seen on the forum, this could be my anti-virus with a false positive, or it may not.
End of the day, I don't see this listed in 'Known Issues' on page one, and it doesn't take long to scan the computer, so away we go.

If you think 2 secounds longer, you will understand, that I say nothing about a virus warning from any anti-virus-software. I say: The IP adress from a connection over EFT 2.12 is completly different from a connection over EFT 2.6. The connection (to the EVE API page) over EFT 2.12 comes from a german IP adress - but Im living in Thailand! With EFT 2.6 its my thai IP adress, with EFT 2.12 its a german IP adress - very interesting. |

Using the Dps graph with fighters i am showing them do the same damage to all classes of ships, (at any speed). This clearly is wrong.
Just thought i would point it out, if anyone knows how to get it to show correctly that would be good but i think its just not doing any tracking math.

Maybe you guys should wake up a bit and find out that you need to make a new character in EFT and then do the import of you API key and that stuffs on your character profile.
You simply can't import any API keys into the All Level 5 profile.
