Originally by: Serapis Hi Folks, Hi Gripen,
I really appreciate your work, it is a great tool! I'd like to offer a mirror service for your tool (as Arimai does).
If you download from unknown sources (in this case ME ), check the MD-Sum to ensure the file was not modified!
So folks here are the links to:
EFT 2.5.2 hosted on my server Free MD5-Checksum Tool MD5summer MD5-Checksum, created by Gripen: e421be14aa4861aa8a604be4a8e050a8 EFT2.5.2 MD5-Checksum, created by myself (e.g. for cross checking only)
Use ONLY the MD-5 Checksum provided by Gripen (OP). He noted it on the first post of this thread.
Gripen, if you mind me mirroring this, throw an EvEMail! Same, to speed up mirror updates :-)
Thx for all the fish, Serapis

Here is another mirror for EFT.
If you don't trust my link (There is no reason not to, but I know some people are paranoid) then either check the MD5 as stated above, or simply just don't download it.

Oh well, I already thought that you would say something like this :D A pitty... Well, feel free to contact me if you need some help porting it to Linux, I'd offer my help (if necessary I'd also sign a NDA so I don't give out the source :P).

Why are the armor resists on the Malediction in EFT all wrong? They're too high! I saw the numbers and thought the Mal must be a pwnmobile, until I checked the numbers within Eve |

Here is a screenshot: http://eve-files.com/dl/157485
In-game, the numbers for armor are EM50/KIN25/THERM35/EXP30
When I check the help/about tab in EFT, it says version 2.5.2 |

Your screenshot meaningless as You have no characters selected. EFT is not a ship browser, it takes in count skills required to fly ship. Select actual char in EFT, hop into Your Malediction in game. Then compare. -- Thanks CCP for cu |

EFT comes with two default characters: [Without skills] and [All level V]. Looking at a shipÆs stats in EFT with [Without skills] selected, you should see numbers that exactly match the numbers you see in-game when you æshow infoÆ on an un-assembled ship. This is true for all the interceptors in EFT, except the Malediction, which has incorrect armor resist figures. |

EFT comes with two default characters: [Without skills] and [All level V]. Looking at a ship’s stats in EFT with [Without skills] selected, you should see numbers that exactly match the numbers you see in-game when you ‘show info’ on an un-assembled ship. You wrong in the both assumptions in sentence "Looking at a ship’s stats in EFT with [Without skills] selected, you should see numbers that exactly match the numbers you see in-game when you ‘show info’ on an un-assembled ship." This is NOT true. Firstly, "[Without skills]" is not a character, it's just a, eh, placeholder to not suffer from "Index List out of bounds" error. Secondly, EFT will NEVER give You exact stats as in database, if any stat of the ship You're viewing affected by the skills required to fly this exact ship. For Malediction is a 5% resists bonus from the Interceptors skill. In this last case, correct assumption would be: "A [Without skills] character actually is a character with minimal skills enough to hop into ship and use all modules fitted". -- Thanks CCP for cu |

The bonus is actually 5% per level of Amarr Frigate skill, not interceptor skill.
That error aside, after reviewing the figures in EFT, I now agree with you that the starting figures are based upon a pilot with the minimum required skills to get into the ship. Since a Malediction pilot must have Amarr Frigate V, then they will always have the full armor resists bonuses, and EFT displays the figures with that in mind.
Thanks for the replies.

Edited by: Discombulator on 25/04/2008 12:50:52 I have two ideas how to improve EFT :)
1) You can select (checkboxes under resists?), which resist will count into defense. It'll be more useful for making tanks against excat enemies.
2) Can you add something to modul to "activate" it's overload attribute? I think not only me will find it useful ...
Thx anyway for this "EvE Offline"

Thank you for great program!
Btw, when using Help/About.. and clicking on the link, it opens internet explorer even though i have firefox as standard.. minor problem though ;)
Edit: I found another dronerelated bug. The skill "Electronic Warfare Drone Interfacing" increases range on all drones. So, with EWDI V and Scout Drone Operation V, EFT says control range is 60km.

Thanks for a great program, it's really lovely!
I just noticed though, that when creating dps-graphs, it doesn't take resistances into account! It should be an option!
I tried to compare different setups and weapon types against a "Angel Drone" (i created a setup with similar resistances), and it showed one setup as 750ish dps and the other at 430ish. When deactivating resistance plating on the Drone it still gave the same graphs and values.
My own calculations put both setups at almost identical 250ish effective dps.

Can't seem to get proxy auth to work at work. My shortcut is setup as: "C:\Documents and Settings\username\Desktop\eft\EFT.exe" /ProxyAuth [email protected]:password with the italics changed to my info. I've also setup the proxy info to go to the correct proxy server/port in the preferences. When I go to import my character it just shows a blank box after putting the api info in and hitting connect.
Works great at home. Awesome Program. Hope it keeps getting better.
