While your concern is and caution is valid, it is unfounded.
All patch and client download links from www.eveonline.com point to host ccp.vo.llnwd.net.

I would be very cautious before downloading any executable that is not from a CCP owned site.
I would also suggest CCP post the md5 checksums of all the files that are in the bit torrents floating around, this may be a real bonus day for key loggers.
That IS a CCP-owned site...that's where all the manual patchers come from
this is the who is I get:

Mouse over the downloads listed in the downloads section of this very site. They all lead to that LLNWD.NET site, so I would assume that it is a CCP site.

Patch up to premium first and then install the Apochrypa patch. EVE Lite will be avaidable to you then.
There will be no patching up from classic.
kind of bad if your machine just qualified for classic, then a patch up to premium first is impossible.
guess the full client is needed, autopatcher doesnt come up with a popup.

Limelight is a CDN, like Akamai. They push out gigs of downloads so CCP doesn't have to. We use them too where I work. That has been CCPs official distribution mechanism for quite a while now.

Hi,
I am unable to boot the client as of today, it does not get to the login-screen with an autopatch notice, instead it stays minimized on the taskbar. I don't think this is normal behaviour?

Anyone have any clue what that means?
Never mind, I figured it out. It's because that's my WINE based install, which (of course) has no BITS support. Nice.
I love how the MAIN installer checks for BITS support but the PATCH does not. Thanks guys. Once again, kick the Linux users in the butt.
How do you fix that? I don't think my BITs is working either way.

Question: How long will the downtime for Apochrypa be extended Answers: 1. It will open before the predicted time! 2. Not at all, it will be right on time 3. Less then an hour 4. One to three hours 5. Three to six hours 6. Six hours to a day 7. More then a day
I for myself downloading these links. What worries me though there are 2 .exe files. Which was supposed to be ok, thinking patch is two parts.
But both .exe files end up with same client version; 75883-84244 & 83913-84244 So I fear there might be a trouble running them one after another.
Quite contrary the .rtp files got different version ends, which also is the way .exe files supposed to be:
like first is 75883-83913 and the second is 83913-84244
anybody feel like there is a problem here ? : ) |

Why are people so paranoid? IT'S FROM EVE'S SITE SO IT'S OFFICIAL! It doesn't matter if it's not from the exact same site, people have said that it's a CDN. Just download and be on your way.
Oh, and for the people not getting the auto-patch: you probably have classic, which no longer works. Grab the full build and go from there. ----------------------------------- "What can go wrong, will go wrong." |

This was happening to me, it turns out that the right answer was given by the full installer: 4.5GB was required, but only 1.5GB was available on my disk. Clearing up some space made it all better.
It'd be nice if the patcher actually said this was the problem though.

You may be correct Mr. Lins, I am downoading the patch now and I have a TCP to cdn-68-142-79-69.lax.llnw.net. So I assume they are using limelight, hey CCP are you?

From what I can tell, the people having problems finding the patch via Downloads->Patches-> has something to do with CCP. Because from my local ISP, I get 75883 as the latest, but from a proxy I get 84244 being the latest. I find a massive ISP failure to be highly unlikely.
btw I'm in Ohio, and a ip lookup reports the proxy as being in Arizona ---- This post does not reflect the opinions of my Corp, Alliance, or myself. |
