You only need to patch one client :)
Once you have one working client just copy the installation folder across your network then. I've been playing for five years and I've copied the Eve folder from machine to machine dozens of times. You might lose some settings in the process (like BM folders) but the client will run.
No it will not because the problem is that the patcher the loader and the client of apocrypha use the same procedure to connect to the server and the firewall will not allow it. I'm not going to change my firewall as long as Aprocrypha is the only program in 7 years not to work with it.

THANK U ! " annoing Amarr Viziam " ! ... following Ur advice I actually at last succeeded in installing the full client on my PC ... a BIG STEP in the right direction ! STILL ... i cant log in ... on the log in screen i note that the status of Tranquility server is described as "UNKNOWN " ... equally i get the following error message when attempting to log in : " Could not connect to the specified address. Odds are that you have not established an internet connection, the server isn't running, or the server address or port number was wrong."
Anyone knows what I eventually could do to " fix " this ?
Bsides of this ..Ill buy the boxed version of the game as soon as possible ... then i do not have to spend 2 1/2 days on achieving more or less nothing and avoid having to deal with CCP at all ... a great benefit .. in my opinion ! AGAIN .. thank U " " annoing Amarr Viziam " .... and SHAME on CCP !! Ulf Raben

1) Buying the boxed version doesn't help. It was assembled when they were only halfway through assembling Apocrypha, and has the latest and greatest version of Quantum Rise aka 75883. It'd only start you all over again with this patching nonsense.
2) Update on my situation. Running Classic. Using the auto patch files CCP uploaded only results in "Expected Premium Found Classic. Please download a different patch" error message. STILL no response to petition [mass replies of hey we finally posted the auto-patch files to the website, go use those rather than make us do our job"]. BUT!!! Today just as I was about to buckle and give up and do a fresh install of new premium build that may or may not work on my computer I decided to try logging in one last time. And suddenly for the first time ever the game's auto patcher actually engaged. DL'ing 1.9Gig at abt 900KB/s; estimated dl time another 40 mins. I'll update to let you know if this leads anywhere, or just another false hope.

Originally by: Kiojiro Ive downloaded the 1.98GB full version, starting from 0. Is there any way that I can specify what folder to extract to?
Any help would be appreciated,
Short version ... the extraction will basically go into whatever file you have your system tempdir (temporary directory) value set to. How you set it is probably a function of which operating system you're running ...

Ahh CCP.
If I didn't love your game so much, I'd be tempted to hunt you all down right now.
So the results of the miraculous 'now it will patch!' story: Download ran fine. Extraction Error, with the oh so ever useless message of "Extraction Error. There has been an error in extraction. Please try manual patch"
Which I'd love to except for 2 things. The patching did get far enough to replace EVE.exe, just nothing else AND of the 12GB I had free on my HDD, the 1.9GB patch somehow took up 11.97GB so that now I have 27MB free and not enough room to extract anything from the manual patch.
Uninstalling and reinstalling from brand new build now.
Note to CCP: Consider actyaully developing a PATCH rather than requiring hundreds of your customers to completely reinstall everytime you want to show off new shinies. Cause it's getting realllly old and Really FRUSTRATING!

Welp, voting with my feet, unsubscribed. I'll consider resubscribing after they finally get the game to a stable, playable state. If the damn game won't even get to the login screen (after uninstalling completely and reinstalling from scratch, kiss my BMs good bye) I don't see the point in paying to not be able to play. Good timing, my renewal would have hit in just a few days.
Have fun!
And no, you can't have my stuff.

Well, my fifth install of the game and attempt to patch it failed. If I try to download the final build (84244) as a complete installer, I can't even launch the game; I will get the splash screen, then it says "CCP.exe has failed".
This is a train wreck of a patch and it doesn't look like I'll be renewing my membership next week.

Originally by: Kaigiene Report I see I am not the only one having problems. Also, is an upgraded video card required for this? I saw someone earlier saying they got the client downloaded but found out that they couldn't play because their card didn't support shader 2? I am going to wait til Friday to try and download again unless someone stops me from wasting my time. I was going to renew my subscription for the next year. Good thing you launched this now because if it doesn't work for me Friday, I am Ghandi like the Mahatma! Awesome game! So awesome no one can play it lol! :)
Yeah that was me with the problem, anyone have a solution to being able to run the new graphics??? it just wont let me even open the starter page after a successful DL, i was so excited and all to see what the new game was like and to fight some real npc opponents , why ccp why did you do this, keep the old graphics for those of us who cant use the 'premium' graphics
I don't come by the forums that much so I didn't realize that my video card is no longer supported. There's a whole blog about it lower in these forums stickied.
"Step 1: In Apocrypha, March 10th, we discontinue support for ShaderModel 1, making ShaderModel 2 (GeForce FX (5 series) or ATi R300 series cards or compatible) the minimum requirement and discontinue the "Classic client" version of EVE, replacing it with "Premium Lite"
Step 2: In the Winter Expansion 2009 we are considering discontinuing support for ShaderModel 2 and make the minimum specification ShaderModel 3(GeForce 6 class cards or ATi x1300 or compatible)"
I have GeForce 3 so obviously I need to get a whole new PC before I can play again. Doesn't help that I got laid off the same day so I can't afford that new PC anymore. (I was playing off of timecards bought with isk starting last month).

Old news I guess, but I'm always greeted with a "your patch is corrupted" message after I download patch. I'm running a mac, and am kinda really ****ed. If I can't get EVE running by the end this weekend, I'm not renewing.
If anyone knows how to solve this issue for the mac, lemme know please.
Thanks a bunch.

The funny thing about going cold turkey is you realize how interesting the rest of the world is. Having been forced to stop playing by the size of the patch, I have been having fun in other ways.
7 hours to download the patch if you have the recommended internet connection. This is not reasonable. For those of us with less than 24/7 access to internet, it is worse.
Enough grumbling, there is really only one thing I can do that CCP will hear. As the previous poster stated, if it is not working by the weekend, I will cancel my account. I understand the patch worked for 1000's, but I expect some service for my money and I am not getting it.
Fallout, put a link to a old style patch on a server that will download it. Let us use file accelerators, don't make us download a small thing to download a second larger thing. One self installing file that has everything it needs in one place.

No one should be forced to buy a new PC or Laptop by the game developers, when in this economic climate people can no longer afford a new one i see CCP are getting sponsered by the big computer companies. xxxx you i am not doing it.

Downloaded the patch yesterday, it needed me to click on retry 12 times then it unpacked without issues, tried to install and claimed that my EVE client was the wrong version (it was not I am quite sure of that )
Downloading the full install caused no issues and installed without issues... though I have not yet seen the new roids I am looking forward to having a looksy this weekend. ------------------------------------------- Should you disagree with me, well I guess that is because I disagree with you. Hi, Don't flame me if this is wrong place!
Applied patch but now when I log in my character portrait screens are blank so I can't select any characters.
Checked my character details on the account screen online and all seems well.
Is there an obvious answer to this? All worked fine before the patch.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and rewarded with isk!

Exactly the same here. What is going on? Been trying to dl the patch - "Temporary Error". For two days. Uninstalled game right now, have to download a ****ty autodownloader instead of an exe - "temporary error". So I simply CAN NOT EVEN DOWNLOAD the game I am paying for, in full, on two accounts. Do I get a refund at least? And why is there no download option for a full exe or a bittorrent download? How hard can it be?
edit: After clicking "retry" on the client setup for 20 times, I finally got redirected to the "fallback downloader" and am download the full exe now. Still: Why is there no option for it in the first place? Poor show.

Why am I surprised that the same people who thought it would be a 'good idea' to run a n+1 cluster on Microsoft Windows with 4GB of RAM each (then pretend it was mana from heaven when they moved to x64 omg > 4GB! Amazing!)
CANNOT F'ING MANAGE TO DELIVER A FILE. YOUR JOB: DELIVER A FILE. STATUS: YET ANOTHER FAILURE.
Download. Extract. REPEAT AFTER ME Download. Extract. Are you f'ing kidding me?
I tell ya CCP, you have some very talented folks on board that is clear by the gaming engine; but your DELIVERY PROCESS SUCKS DONKEY CAWLK and it always has. GET OFF YOUR ASHES and hire someone who knows what the hell they are doing.
Download. Extract. Just a bit too much for your delivery team to handle i guess.

So THREE DAYS AFTER the patch CCP finally admits to having spread Bullsh** around when they kept talking about Premium Lite. Only now do they admit there is no Premium Lite client, and that everyone has to install Premium -- after months of telling us that Classic Content players would be upgraded to Premium Lite.
And yet, their own patch REFUSES to acknowledge Classic Content Clients and immediately closes when it sees Classic Content; rather than upgrading Classic to the new Premium. Nor did they at any point TELL THE COMMUNITY this was the case.
This has been quite simply the most botched, mismanaged, bass ackwards patch and release scenario I have seen -- and I've dealt with SOE for years, so that's saying something!
Short answer (that they should have announced at the very least the day before the patch): If you had Classic Content Client you must uninstall and install the brand new premium build (which they also failed to post until much later). Tweak the settings on your own time, cause CCP don't give a d**n. That's Premium Lite. And if your petition doesn't affect them getting their money (i.e. Billing category) don't expect an answer this week.
This is not the CCP I was used to and recommended to my friends. Rest assured I won't be recommending CCP or EVE anymore.

I'm not sure if I'm doing this right, but I've been getting frustrated by this downloading business.
I've got the Premium Installer hooked up, all nice and fancy. It works just fine until it gets to the downloading portion of the Wizard. Then it presumes to lock up and refuse to do anything. I thought it was just slow, so I left it to download for two days straight. Nope, no status or download detail thing. It just locks up where it shows you the pretty Raven and says it's installing. Anyone else with this issue?

Well... at least SOME of you have been able to even SEE your game. I click my cute little EVE icon and the splash screen literally flasshes for half a second and poof... nada.
I've also suddenly lost almost 12g of my hardrive and to top it all off my VCard is no longer supported even AFTER us classic users could use some sort of "P-Lite" version so we didnt have to shell out cash we dont have for a video card the only seem to need for EVE (I left SOE games for just this reason). Oh, this doesnt top it off... my subscription JUST got paid YESTERDAY for 3 more months.. all this after being away for Uncle Sam for a few weeks.... nice welcome home.
How long's EVE been out? Almost 5 years? Thats about right for the crap to hit the fan for an online game company.
See ya'll... flame me if you wish, I wont be back. SO to quote someone famous, "so you can just float and sputter".

No offense but these idiotic "it's easy just uninstall/reinstall" 'workarounds' people post are infantile. Of course a net-new install is going to work, but do i want to spend all the friggn time customizing my client (AGAIN thanks incompetent CCP software delivery) and f'ing around with b.s. like these forums when the most simple task of downloading and writing files remains a gigantic puzzle to CCP?
Screw that uninstall crap. CCP needs to fix the UPGRADE.
10 pages and not a peep since the original post. This thread is referenced elsewhere as the "official" thread for download and patching problems. I can only hope CCP's silence is out of abject shame that they've come to the realization software delivery is a task that is simply beyond their capabilities. F'ing pathetic. This happens to many people. I've had to re-do all my colours, overview settings etc pretty much every major patch going back to Exodus 4.5 years ago. Yeah it's annoying, but often new options are added with each patch so you'd probably want to be making changes to your existing settings anyway.
So no offense, but harden up.
