lol
I drove a tad over 30 miles (one way) today to download the new version and I run into this ******ed crap.
It sucks to be us dialup users. Maybe I'll just head back home and try again in a few more days.
I knew I should have set a skill that would last more than seven days or so ......

u asked if i tried to download or switch to lite graphics when i click the eve client file, it gives me a 'dunt' sound then tells me i no longer have the minimum graphics required to run eve , i went to a pc store and asked if i can upgrade and was told no not on a laptop thats as old as mine (3years old) apart from spending 1000 euro on a new one i am no longer able to play eve. if ye know how to fix this problem and let me get back on eve, please send me a mail [email protected] and let me know what i can do, please be aware my skill with computers is limited and i am also extremely ****ed at ccp for doing this upgrade of graphics which i believe they should have left the **** alone so that people with older machines do not have this problem. Thanks CCP u just got rid of hundreds of EVE players in one patch.

You will not be able to enter the game until you download the patch."
I've dl the patch four times now without any luck. I'm running it on a MAC. HELP! Is there any other way to dl the patch except through the login screen of the game?
For what it is worth I have had exactly the same problem, four times. There is no excuse for this and I resent having to even consider all of the technical solutions being discussed. For the money this company makes on this game it should work perfectly, the first time.

Except you're forgetting completely that the boxed copy still needs patching!

Sure, I've got everything crossed that it will actually work on my archaic machine... I also wondered whether having the 1.9 GB file on disk would fix 95% of the problem (i.e. smaller patches would hopefully work OK)?

I downloaded the full manual install. I have low disk space on my C: drive so it won't extract the full package. Is there a way I can change the extraction destination?

Eve does NOT have to be a standard route installation (ie: c:/programfiles/ccp/eve) If you have a spare drive you can point the install on that. It will install anywhere you tell it. All it will do is create a folder called ccp. Just make sure the shortcut points there and all should be well.
good luck

It won't let me chose where to extract to at the beginning of the installation. It is automatically set to my C drive.
I have a Radeon 9200. Does that mean I won't be able to play EVE anyway?

This is a list of files that are corrupt in the 7z file, if someone with working client can just zip up those files from their client for the rest of us who can't seem to be able to download the client, would be nice.
Thanks for the help!

Okay, it installed perfectly. But my card doesn't support Shader2. I just activated my account on Monday, so maybe I can get a refund and use that to help me buy a new card. Well, thanks for the help again!

Ok I just had SUCCESS installing with the file corruption issue.
1. Don't patch, just uninstall and D/L the full version. (DO NOT USE THE TORRENT OPTION)
2) Using the normal windows download option select a diffrent location for the install from the defualt. I used C:/Program Files/CCP/EVE1
The torrent D/L option doesn't give you the option on where to install, hence the reason you can't use it if your getting the corrupt files issue.
3) install and it should work..

Hey everyone. Got a question that I really need an answer for. I logged into the game and downloaded the patch client. It states that its about 1.9 gig in size... No problems... till the Eve-Online Installer states that all in all I have to download 3989 megabytes... 4 GIG!!! ???? Whats going on? Anyone else had this issue? I left the installer running for almost the last 24hours and have gotten 1.5 gig downloaded (slow connection)..but i swear it only originally said i need to d/l 1.9 gig. |

Your original client, was it Classic or Premium? If it was classic I can only guess you're having to download the premium content?

Actually, if you dl the full patch version, using 7-zip to extract isnt a bad idea. It takes 1 minute to tell you if you have any corrupt files so that saves you the trouble of trying to install if it is.
So far: I dl'ed the full patch - corrupt (just started my 5th attempt) used the torrent - corrupt using the installer for full patch - corrupt insalled version 71655 (old one) and tried to update that - corrupt dl'ed via IE instead of FF - corrupt
TBH, I have absolutely no faith in CCP fixing this issue or even attempting to fix this issue. They will do what they always do, leave it to the player base to find the fix if there is one
Still, 10 more days until my skill needs changing so im not in a panic .. yet
good luck everyone
EDIT: Btw, I have removed ALL traces of Eve from my computer .. no ccp folder in programme files, no folder in appdata, no folder in docs and settings (screenies etc), removed it all .. still no joy

Yeah it probably is to be quite honest. It's been a couple of patches since Trinity so there's probably more added on.

Ive downloaded the 1.98GB full version, starting from 0. The problem I seem to be having is that I don't have enought space on my C: drive, so I download to the D:, however when the extraction begins it doesnt give me the option to specify a folder, so it tries to extract the in the C: drive. Is there any way that I can specify what folder to extract to?
Any help would be appreciated,

On my fifth attempt now....I really hope it works this time. After four failures of the installer that connected online to download the 2GB file and the ensuing 2GB patch, I'm now getting the plain giant installer (hopefully, my network limit isn't low lol)
I feel for those whose bandwidth ran out. Good luck to you getting this up and running...I certainly hope that this is the last time this happens to me and I can move on.
If worst comes to worst my brother (who is also running Vista 32-bit) somehow successfully patched with the automatic patcher on the first try. I can at least keep my character in training.

*For anybody who was using the classic version and XP*
I had no joy (like many of you) d/loading the offical patches. I scanned through this whole thread and noticed the piratebay torrent (linked on page 6). What do you know, it worked! No extra patch d/loads were needed after that, I was straight in.
What I did was to delete the eve folder in prog files/ccp and I added a '1' to the end of the suggested install path (this just seemed to make sense for some reason).
Hope this will be of help to some..

Edited by: N0N4M3 on 12/03/2009 02:41:57 Dear CCP employees, did you even test this before giving it out to the public? I'm missing game time I would like back.. this is just ridiculous not being able to patch the game, I have downloaded probably 15 GB of your CRAP which costs me money!
Get this **** of yours fixed asap, I am a EFFIN ****ed costumer right now.
All these ****ups you're doing make me want to quit this fantastic game, the game is brilliant in all ways but your work ethics are ****ED up, corrupted staff, giving out bpo's et cetera et cetera!
