Edited by: tedivm on 11/03/2009 03:34:59 I just finished download number 4. Did. Not. Work.
At least I know that each time I download it CCP pays that much more in bandwidth. Won't be long now before these guys are in the red, for my subscription at least.
Edit: Well, I'm skipping the autoloader and grabbing the OSX client itself now. I've noticed the file says premium, which would be nice since previously there wasn't a premium version for OSX. If CCP gets this stuff working soon, and this is a real update to the OSX client, I'll let this mess slide without too much more *****ing.

Why is this file not on CCP's hosting site? I downloaded the RTP file (EVEPREMIUM.5.20.75883-6.10.83913.RTP) from the above site, but the correspdonding .exe is no longer hosted.

The EVE Client Tranquility Live download is not a correct link, it links you to the patcher not to the full client....

Edited by: TriStar3x on 11/03/2009 03:55:28 Stop trying to patch the damn thing people. Delete your EvE folder and DO a fresh install. CCP's server is back to speed, it took me 50 minutes to download the full client (finished download 1 hour ago), it's not corrupted, install was successfull and I'm logged on TQ right now.

How hard would it for them to get this right? I just love searching the forums for some player who may or may not have a clue what to do, heaven forbid some real information on the home page. Let me guess CCP's thinking if we screw this process up, there will be less initial stress on our servers.

I don't know crap about computers. You get a sucking chest wound or a collapsed lung from gunfire, and I'm your guy...
After a 3 hour download, it tries to autostart Eve and I get some damn message about CCP.exe file problem. Anyone got any ideas?

So, from what I can gather, Eve Classic Engine no longer works? Seems to be the message over here at http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=617
Please please please get this message up some where, I don't follow dev blogs, i'm a casual player. When I tried to patch today, I went through a bunch of trouble shooting steps on my own before delving through the forums. I eventually found hints from other posts that classic didn't work, so I googled the issue. If you are discontinuing a client, please post it in a very visible way! I've been mucking about for hours trying to fix a client that apparently isn't supported anymore?

Problem I am having is with the patchers themselves (the exe that http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/evepremiumpatch75883-84244.exe links to). It encounters a problem and terminates before downloading the patch. Anyone having that issue? Any ideas for a solution?

CCP, i could not hate you so much right now, if i did not love you so much most of the time.
that being said, is there anywhere to download the full MAC client using P2P, or an alternate page for direct download?

I downloaded it from here- http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/mac/eve-premium_002289_84244_mac.dmg
I got that link from the downloads page (http://www.eveonline.com/download/).
I have already managed to log in and it is running smoothly. I have to say, it looks fantastic. The premium graphics finally being available for OS X makes such a huge difference- the ships themselves look so much better.

The MAC version has the correct link on that page, the Windows version does not :(.

Wrong, guys ... although I can only offer you half an answer, I'm afraid.
There is indeed a full Windows install file for the client ... EVE_Premium_Setup_84244_m.exe (note the "_m" suffix, for MANUAL installation). Unfortunately, I don't have the full URL available, since I downloaded my copy via Torrent. I've seen references to the full URL sprinkled throughout various threads - do a forum search and see what you can find. But the full install file is definitely out there - and better yet, it even works when you install it.

FIx YOUR ****, IF IT IS ME, TELL ME WHAT TO DO AND STOP WASTING MY TIME. |

I foolishly suggested that you do a forum search for the filename I referenced. My apologies, I should have known that CCP would never allow so useful a function as "search" to be available on their website.
However, I did do a little screwing around ... this may or may not work, but it's as close as I'm going to get, I think ...

Yesterday I successfully installed the patch for Apocrypha at home, but now I can not find that to install at work. It says I do not have to install 82996 patch to my main EVE config to continue playing. It is only for testing now. But my client does not allow me to start because of an incompatible version. It confuses me a lot. Give me the explanation please???

- Delete your EvE folder, - Click the official CCP link to the full client installation http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/EVE_Premium_Setup_84244.exe, - download the executable, - EXECUTE IT. Surprise ! If you read the window you'll notice it says "Welcome to the EVE-ONLINE setup wizard" and not "Welcome to the EVE-ONLINE update wizard, - click "next", - accept the License Agreement, - stick with the default C: folder, click "install", - let the INSTALL WIZARD do its job of downloading the FULL client, - let the INSTALL WIZARD INSTALL the game, - click "Finish" at the end of the process, - play the game.

Gosh I orginally downloaded the full patch > 1.3 something gig when it was available... I got it downloaded then I was 75% finished installing and my computer FROZE! Then when I logged back on to try the patch again, my EvE wouldnt load lol! cause the patch screwed it up when my OS crashed... so ahh I tried reinstalling the patch over top... let alone no luck, so then I had to Un-install EvE all together and download the FULL build from servers here. So I did that and now I only got 78853 or whatever lol! Then I find out there is a new update since I downloaded last night? so I start downloading this RIDICULOUS Patch 1.3 and I look at the patch update about 30 mins later and realize hang on a second... that's not 84244 patch... omg! so NOW I've wasted ... almost 3 gig of my internet download for the month, I now have to download another RIDICULOUS patch sitting at a massive 1.9 gig WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!!!!! CCP you owe me lots of download, this patch better be HELL worth it or I'm getting my money back.

I don't see any point downloading anymore until CCP says they fixed the issue. I have a file called EVE_Premium_Setup_84244_m downloaded and it's around 1.94 GB. However, they said there is a checksum error. That usually means there is a discrepancy between what was downloaded and what the app expects to have downloaded and not anything with the actual installation process yet. I've tried everything from downloading several time, uninstalling the client, etc. I sure wished I upgraded from Classic to Premium before all then I wouldn't have to deal with all this nonsense but everyone has 20/20 hindsight. BTW, is there really a premium lite version or is it just premium with the settings on low?

I'm sorry, but there have been too many reports of the various autopatcher/installer programs erroring out after partial or even complete downloads ... including the specific installer the poster mentions.
I'd strongly urge all readers to go ahead and directly download the manual installation file I cited previously.
