Finally there is proof I haven't gone crazy...
I managed to get the last patch only to see an error with checksum. Then I uninstalled Eve altogether and reinstalled 75883 (No updated version to download!?!?) just to sit on the same problem I started with, that is incompatibility and the auto-updater doesn't start at all...

I can't get anything to start and when I try and download a complete new copy it sends me the client I already have. 75883.
What am I doing wrong?

i have been lucky. 1st attempt was going to take over 3 hours. Cancelled & rebooted and it took 20 mins. Then a second patch was required which was only 10% of the size. Works fine.

I have the exact same issue; Eve refuses to download any patch or update and trying to get the patch off the site just nets me the same version I currently have.

I downloaded the update with no problem this morning, 1.5 MpS download speed, took less than half an hour. It also installed just fine.
However,
After installing the update, I have found that my graphics card is no longer supported, making it completely impossible to play the game. I have only had my account for one week, and paid $20 to play.
I had no warning when I purchased the account, nor before updating the client that this would happen.
I would like to know who I can contact for a refund.

Tried the autopatcher first of course. It gave me some sort of "failed" message.
Tried the manual download. After 4 and a half hours it finished, and then turns out to have only downloaded about 75% of the 1.9 gigs, the useless thing.
Tried a file transfer with a friend. That fell on it's face on several bumps, mostly windows-tardedness.
Going to try to torrent it know, if:
a) I actually figure out how to.
b) I won't fall asleep before.
Cursed oversized patch... *sigh*

i found i possibility to dl the RTP-File and had 1.6MB/s
I'm not sure if i will get banned, if i post my complete solution, so tell me CCP, if i#m allowed to.

How about putting up the full version and patches on other sites, other than your own. 50kb a sec download for a 1.389mb patch equals over 12 hours to download. And if you loose connection between that time, Oh well, start the download again. I came from WOW to this cause I love space type games. They have a patch installer was torrented with a auto continue if stopped for some reason. Might want to put something like that up and fast.... |

Both of my PC's will not autoinstall the patch. Just keeps saying incompatable verion.. how bout some help here. Like a link to manually download the stupid patch.

Might Help if you sort the full download out, you are still showing the old version, which I may also like to point out dont patch either.
I been trying to download the correct build since the server came up, and its now over 6 hrs and it still wont patch or even download.
Current Client Version: 5.20.75883 there is no patch for this build

Do you have classic? If you do, get the full build and reinstall. For some reason the classic client has issues patching.

You appear to have a more recent build than the latest release.
Your build number is 84063, while the most recent release is 75883.

Why in the world would you provide your own half finished downloader?
This has to be one of your most idiotic steps so far.
Having to start over at every failure is annoying to say the least.
p.s. Is there a static download location for Icelanders?

trying this 1 now,
the 1 http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/EVE_Premium_Setup_84244.exe after awhile is currupt, says error downloading file, now i have 20mb cable and 6 hours wasted time so far so i hope http://666k.com/EVE_Premium_Setup_84244_m.exe works
ccp sort out the full correct download url and the dam patch from the old client Current Client Version: 5.20.75883 to the correct build number 84244

I giving up for the night ccp might get there act together and update there site to the correct patch, also your download manager sucks.
Go back to the old version full download / torrent, least with torrents files will come down quicker on a patch day
I have tried it with windows xp 32bit and windows 7 64 bit, but there new download manger crashes after a few min's

Unknown error applying the 1.3GB patch, file corrupt error running the full 2GB install.
Considering I'm on a 1GB/day download limit, I already stand to be capped for the next few days, so unless I can get a working install downloaded before the end of today, it'll be the weekend before I can get back in.
Very unhappy.

That's after downloading 2GB. After I used the 800kb patcher which downloaded 1.4GB and gave me a Code 29 error. Then I downloaded the 1.4GB separate from the patcher - and got the same error. Obviously a lot of people are downloading this today and it is going to be difficult doing this perfectly... but these are big enough downloads without having to download the same data four times.
Has there been any progress on rectifying this yet, Fallout? I don't want to start downloading it again til I know it works.

Patching Premium client by autoloader, got "corrupt sumthing" message. Now trying to download a whole client manually.
Guys, please. Whats wrong with your QA? You didn't learn your lesson after "boot.ini" issue.
