Hmmm, its normal that unexpected problems can appear, but please do keep the time schedule updated, because now is 1:22 passed till the Tranquility is online (according to forum).

If the gym told me it was going to be closed Sunday morning, so I decided to go Sunday afternoon instead, only to find it was still closed, I'd be ****ed off, and I'd have every right to be ****ed off.

It doesn't matter if we work in the IT industry or not. It's pretty simple. Consumers expect accurate predictions on service outtages, simple as that. All this, well you don't know IT, is utter bull****. Because if the IT people knew IT, they wouldn't give a rough time to begin with. You can expect most of your consumers to be highly knowledgeable of IT an understand, you have to perform to your own expectations.
*******s, with a system this big you would expect the schedule to slide (if you know anything about large clusters), but I would like to borrow your crystal ball. But keep on demontrating you subpar knowlegde about IT (We are not talking about updating Win7 here) ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Fact of EVE forums: They will always come an anounomys alt-toon and question someones character... |

We're a little bit more delayed (by minutes, not hours) than my post indicated above. Sorry about that. Our operations team is working as fast as they can.

Ah but you see, I work in IT, and their original estimation was in fact correct. All us IT folk follow the "Windows Time" estimate, meaining we say the operation will complete in 8 hours, but that number fluctuates between 5 mins and 12 days completely randomly, as a windows operation does

Keep up the good work ccp.
I dont think anybody would care that it takes so long if CCP would just give us an ACCURATE time of when we can play again. Instead of pushing it back...4 times. And then still not even meeting the four-times-pushed-back deadline.

TBQF This is a complete JOKE.
OK so 23:00 didnt happen......then we are told it will be up in 10mins or so.....but wont accept connections.
It is now 23:24, no tq up, no update no nothing, just 14hours + of waiting for something we have paid for.....
Being kept up to date and not being given false deadline makes alot of different, are we sure its an upgrade of server we need and not something else? **cough**
Just a thought.

Don't know if this is practical with all the international people, but perhaps customers opting in for "text alerts" when the server is restored during downtime would be a good idea? Or email alerts even. Most people can check email on their phones now anyway. It could be an option to toggle in your preferences.
Just a random thought.

I'm amazed that CCP can do something like this in the span of a day. I mean, seriously they are moving 66 server boxes as well as all of the equipment required to run them. A few extra hours for hicups along the way are to be expected. As for the internal network speed increase mentioned in the dev-blog, I am very excited to see this in action.
Lets all hope the hamsters like their new cages.

So you've never had a power outage from your electric company where the power came on after they said it would? Or your telephone provider? Or your auto mechanic? And the list goes on and on.
GTF over yourself. You're an idiot.
