I'm agree with some people understanding the (real) business. I agree with Carebear One posts last night.
This is an online service, CCP people are not my friends, some badasses here look at "hey its only a game" no, false: its business, it is an overpayed online service (19$ per months -in euros- I pay less my ISP for 24/7 broadband).
To understand better the situation just imagine AT&T, Orange or whatever you are using put you offline for an undefinited time, and hey, "they are working like mad! My appreciation!" AH AH AH, dont be silly, I bet 1 billion ISK you're furious after 24 hours without broadband, and no excuses.

Sadly, this delay will be even further extended.
The comments from this thread have been read out to the engineers working hard to solve the issue.
Seven of these engineers now have gone home, as they beleieve their unpaid isn't justified due to all the sooking.

While I'd hate to jump on the band wagon I must say CCP's involvement with keeping the community updated was not very impressive. While I'm glad they're taking the extra time to fix whatever issue they ran into I do wish they could be a little more accurate with their ETA's. Basically I only had a 10 hour training que on my alt when the downtime begun, I didn't think we'd be sitting here for THIRTY + hours til the servers came back up (never have seen a company THAT far off). Now that wouldn't have bothered me so much if I wasn't waiting for hours for a response on when they'd expect the servers to be up just to be completely wrong yet again, I have better stuff to do other then keeping a close eye for ETA so that I can set up my planets and my skill ques..

Why wouldn't we have a right to *****, and expect some sort of comp? We are paying for a service, if we miss our account payments what happens? You can have all the excuses in the world, but you will be promptly cut off. I am sure that they are working hard, as they should be that is what they get paid for, that is what we are paying for. I am sick of people coming on here *****ing about people *****ing. If you went to a restaurant and they told you it would take 6 hours for a table, then it ended up taking 48 hours. Would you complain? We pay our bills they at the very least could give us up to date info on the situation.

Man, seriously, create a sect, go to an Himalayan peak and teach who wants to hear you your cheap philosophy. I am not. In a serious business company, a move planned for 6h and goin still for 30some hours will mean someone's head in a plate and thousands of Euros in losses. Since we are paying the same and even there is ppl that are grateful, probably he/she will even have a promotion. This is seriously fecked up.

If you are purchasing/buying/renting/.etc from a business, and the business does not deliver what the are selling you, you DO have the right to complain! To say otherwise is totally asinine, and refuse your rights as a purchase e!
That is just common sense.
Whining on the other hand, is both frivolous, annoying as f@*#!
CCP, you should have been better prepared for such a scenario!

ok this is what i don't understand is we pay for this game each month and every day their is a dt with is fine, however when their is a patch it is always extended by a few hours because they can never guess the time right and we all sit here waiting for it to come back up and then we have lag problems or datebase issues and the servers go back down for even more time, then stuff like this happens here its down for 30 somthing hours. now adding up all this lost time over a year is adding up to about a few weeks for of game time and yet we still don't get anything back for this, we are never offered a free month or a few free days to make up for this lost time that they still expeact us to pay for.

This I understand, but in a switch to new hardware there is inherent redundancy. So even if the new stuff doesn't behave like it should do (suprise suprise) the old stuff still chugs away.
