REVELATIONS II, the second part of three free REVELATIONS expansion for EVE Online will be deployed on Tuesday 19 June, starting at 0200 GMT. This deployment is scheduled to last approximately 24 hours, with an estimated return to service at 0200 GMT on Wednesday 20 June. Tranquility will also undergo its normal daily maintenance period at 1100 GMT on the 20th.
REVELATIONS features many improvements, new features, content and a wealth of optimizations and fixes to both Tranquility and the EVE game client. Detailed Patch Notes are available for review. The REVELATIONS II features page will be available shortly.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and encourage training of a skill with a long training time.
Please keep in mind the EVE forums will be offline for the duration of the expansion deployment due to the need to keep from adding new information to the database.

Way down in the Miscellaneous section: Asteroid distribution in the eight new regions also known as the rogue drone regions has been redone, rare end asteroid types such as arkonor should be much larger than before.
Some love there and please keep in mind there will be further additions made over the weekend as other items clear the QA process.

Ok, were these things not enabled on the Sisi state then? Like historically with the manual belt control on the test server?

You are incorrect, young alt. This is in fact a nerf to all but 4 alliances, and even they will be severely hit by this, titans are command level ships. I suspect the general members will still use carriers for personal asset transport, now almost impossible due to the inability to use GSCs.
So now, instead of my corp's forums looking like: "Transport request: 2x GSC named "elmicker""
It'll be "Transport request: 435 corpses 14 425mm II Railguns 10k Spike L Ammo 25 10mn MWD IIs 14 Kitchen sinks..."
And so on.
Way to totally pay attention to the community's requests, CCP. Totally unneccessary, MASSIVE nerfs for the ******* lose.

Another interesting change:
Quote:
All structures now have appropriate signature radius assigned to them, making it harder for larger ships to acquire lock on smaller structures; large have 400m, medium have 125m and small have 30m.
This will also mean that capital and to a lesser extent battleship weapons will be much less effective against smaller starbase structures - people will be forced to use a mix of ship classes to get the job done in the fastest possible time, at least if the POS owners are smart enough to deploy a mix of turrets. Another use for bombers, perhaps? ------ Spreadsheets: Top speed calculation - Halo Implant tanking |

# Titans can no longer fire doomsday devices remotely. # Titans can not jump for the next 10 minutes after firing a doomsday device.
Holy mother of god....
By far the biggest of the ship changes...titans just got a ****LOAD more vulnerable.
# Fighters and Drones will now use their MWD to return to the ship correctly. # Fighters will correctly follow the carrier into and through warp. # When delegating fighters, the drone UI will now automatically resize. # When jumping out of a system where you had fighters assigned to you, the drone UI will now auto update to reflect that you no longer have your wingmen. # Work has been done to reduce the lag effects experienced when issuing commands to drones using the UI. Also, launching/retrieving drones should not suffer from as much lag now. # Fighters engaging Starbase structures will now follow their controller into warp rather than staying and continuing to fight. Note, they will stay and fight until ordered otherwise
Woot! Woot and WOOT! Not perfect but a sweet step in the right direction!
Over all a massive list some good some bad... unfortunately the one change i was hoping for was not in there :/ While the cyno stuff is a good thing its going to still be damned dangerous for small alliances to even hold a system right now if you cant mine your own POS fuel...

Every change on the list is an improvement, except one:
Quote: Increased CPU use and decreased power need on Energized Adaptive Nano Membranes.
This is the most useless change ever. It won't change omni-tanks. Only a very few ships, and even then, only a very few setups are affected by this. And the one's that ARE affected can not afford this change.
All it will do is reduce diversity in the types of ships and setups flown, while not accomplishing the goal: reducing 'omni-tanks', which IMO are just fine as is.
The real problem is the amount of EM vs. Thermal damage that Amarr does, and if you'd just swap the numbers, everything would be fine.
Come on Oveur. You directly told me that this change was 'still under discussion'. You're actually going to let this go live? The dev team can't actually believe that this is going to help anything, can they?
I think I'll train my EM armor compensation skill to FIVE to protest.

"Attacking the starbase of a war target in high security space would occasionally result in a global criminal flag. This no longer occurs."
Does this mean that hi-sec research towers are now vulnerable to war-decs? Surely you would've given the community more warning than a single sentence buried in the patch notes.
Everyone knows lab slots are overloaded in empire. Research towers are an (expensive) way to overcome the problem. If you allow them to be pirated in hi sec with a war dec you are landing a crippling blow on the industrial side of the player base. They don't even work properly yet; you can't allow others to rent out your research slots and copying / invention from within the alliance is horribly bugged as you should know from the many "move my items out of his lab" petitions.
That whole "let invention help the T2 market," yeah that will be given a huge setback by the primary source of copy slots being put at risk if I read your patch notes correctly.

Many top changes (corp wallets, fighters use MWD for returning, overview "in front", ...)
But: All of the main "features" look like they were done extremly hastily and are not ready for deployment. *) Heat: Bad UI, restricted usability *) POS-changes + Sovereignity: No real help for POS-spamming etc., POS warfare stays boring, no real concepts against LAG *) Agents: Only 10 Lvl5 agents per empire? No agents for other factions? WTF? *) Encounters: No improvements for scanning system (till now), encounters only clutter the "unknown"-category of multispectral-probes.

Couple of questions about the onboard scanner. I've spent a long time working on my exploration skills and I don't want to see them become useless- the oboard scanner has a 5AU range, better than the most long-range exploration probe except the multispec.
Given it's extremely short scan time, even with a cripplingly low 25 points of sensor strength, I wonder if it'll be practical to simply take a noobchar in a starter frigate to every planet in a system and scanspam to find higher end content.
You'd have a small chance of finding something and with a scan time of 30 seconds, you'd be able to do 10 scans in the time it takes a moderately accomplished exploration pilot to do one.
Only time will tell, but I don't want to see the free scanner become a cheap and effective alternative to the dedication it takes to do real exploration properly.
Given how small the sensor strength is, I'm not *too* worried about this, and can actually see how it might be useful for normal explorers to quickly eliminate hits that are low-end which they'd otherwise waste time scanning down.
Still- 5AU? Seems kind of long range.

These are wrong, purly because the user name does not always match the profile path of that user.
Cases where username and profile parth name come out of whack: Change of username Old profile becomes corrupt Folder already exists when logging in as that user And if you change the documents and settings path (wont be c:\users or c:\documents and settings as it has) C: doesnt hold windows (and therfore default profiles path isnt on c:)
The correct paths should be changed as per below, because they will be correct in all cases:
In Windows XP & Windows 2000: User Settings : %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE Capture and logs: %userprofile%\My Documents\EVE In Windows Vista : User settings : %userprofile%\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE Capture and logs: %userprofile%\Documents\EVE
Not a biggie, but I did notice it

Allow someone who is more astute than yourself to explain the change:
The new built in scanner will allow players who do not have a probe launcher fitted to their ship to find the new exploration style complexes that were once the static complexes etc.
In no way will the new built-in scanner be able to locate any of the traditional exploration content. That will always be the domain of probes.

Not even that, good probing skills can get you down to around 100 seconds on exploration probes, and with a MUCH better scan strength, furthermore you can deploy and scan with multiple probes simultaneously.

Even with high-sec towers being fair game for wardec attack, I don't think it'll make the job that hard on you.
Suppose you get decced by the usual run of the mill everyday corp. The worse they can throw at you are battleships. A handful of POS turrets can quickly dispose of these. At worst, you offline some labs to online the defense mechanisms and everything's peachy.
And if you do get decced by a large alliance with dreads and all that, it's still not so much of a problem. I don't even remember if dreads can enter high-sec space... but let's say yes - worst case scenario. First, the interest of an enemy alliance in a lab-oriented POS are minimal, plus the fact that they'll gain zero sovereignty from this and will have ended up destroying a few labs and the blueprints that were under research at the time. Unless the enemy alliance is hellbent on ticking you off or knows of a window where you are researching a very expensive piece of BPO, I'm pretty sure they'll have bigger fish to fry.
You can rest easy.

"My gang and I have completed the mission".
Basic rule of thumb:If you remove the references to other people the sentence should still make sense. Obviously in the original if you remove 'and my gang' you are left with "Me have completed the mission" which ain't not good proper English.

About the rest - Great work. Tanks
You may think so, but in reality there are only a very few of each factions agents being used. Take Caldari for example. The large majority of players using Caldari lvl 4 agents are in Motsu/Aramachi..... It'll probably be the same for lvl 5 agents, with people only using the best one...
The thing CCP should do is remove the Quality factor of agents, and just replace that with your standing towards the agent in LP/reward calculations. That way you could use any agent of the level you want, and people could spread out when your agent system was lagged....

Ok, I have noticed that multi-point posts almost never get commented on by CCP, but here goes (itÆs better than spamming the thread for each pointà!)
1) LP store/transferral of all corp based LPs to a single ôaccountö I LOVE YOU GUYS! Hello LP store! Goodbye Motsu/Aramachi!
2) Cargo capacity for the Stealth Bombers has been increased as follows:
Quote:
òPurifier: 135m3 -> 260m3, òNemesis: 155m3 -> 215m3, òHound: 145m3 -> 195m3, òManticore: 120m3 -> 185m3.
Ummmà. Why the large differences? Am I missing something? I mean, why arenÆt the changes at least equal û maintaining their different total cargo sizes? Why is the Manticore getting only 65m3 when the Purifier is getting almost double that (125m3)?
3) Regarding constellation sovereignty. Ahà what exactly is your goal for this? I know that sovereignty has been a little too fluid, with long-term residents given no preference for their hard work to build up the space they occupy û and these changes will remedy this to a certain extent. But other than rewarding long term residents, what is your goal? This reads to me as if you want to help out the super-sized alliances (hello BOB, RA, GOONS) to keep the space that they now claim. (keep in mind that they claim a lot of space that often never gets ôvisitsö from the political authority û aka, absentee landlords).
Is it really your intention to keep smaller corps and alliances from owning some space in 0.0 û or do you feel that constellation sovereignty will somehow lead to greater granulation of 0.0? (less space owned by large alliances). I am not sure what the effect is for the game, but I would have to say that it will have the exact opposite effect û that it will severely limit the ability of a small to medium sized alliances or corps to claim space and keep it.
This is a serious problem, IMHO. You want to eliminate the blob û and you have gone to such great lengths as to add in AoE weapons (bombs) and effects (MOM ECM burst) just to ôbreak up the blob.ö The problem with the blob lies not with a lack of AoE weaponry, but rather that the game already encourages/rewards super-sized alliances. If you have thousands of members in an alliance, you will have blob warfare. Period.
Personally, I think a much better system would be to make it HARDER for alliances to hold Sov in multiple constellations. It seems to me that what this patch represents is a move from POS spamming to OUTPOST spamming. And once the big alliances have their eyes set on ANOTHER constellation, how is it going to be possible for someone else to compete? They simply have to out-OUTPOST anyone else. I know û this is a bit of an oversimplification û but it is nearly accurate.
If you want to eliminate the blob û then you have to find a way to BREAK UP the larger alliances. Make it so cumbersome for them to own and control vast tracts of à space. Then maybe you might see the super-alliances breaking up to an extent, in favour of more manageable, smaller alliances. THIS would be good for the game IMHO.
Sorry Molle, I donÆt want you to control all of EVE.
(Here's hoping that CCP doesn't stop reading after the first point)

hey hey
Nice patch note but a few thing made me cry :(
1) Fixed an issue with lab slots in mobile laboratories that had added restrictions to them would not be displayed in the installations tab.
Does this actually mean that mobile labs that have restrictions removed so that they can be made for public use will actually work now ?
2) Drone invention.
Whilst superb I noticed that all drones use Gallente Encryption to invent. Wouldnt this be more inline with the story if each race could invent its own drones ? Galente3s making TII drones for the amarrian scum makes me wonder where their true allegiences lie.
3) Stasis Webifier II - Changed to -90%
Er.... it already is ? and the 'Fleeting' meta version is still better than the TII version which makes the TII stasis webifier pointless :(
4) NOS Changes ??
Nothings showing as different on SISI . . . sneaky sneaky :)))))
5) Exploits. . . 5A) dropping an interdictor sphere whilst caught inside an enemy bubble/sphere allows you to warp away safely :) nice to see you corrected that.

Improved efficiency of remote armor repairers to be slightly better than shield transporter equivalent. Skill level requirements, range, duration and meta levels now match the shield transporters.
Aaahhh.... WHY? Isn't armor tanking already superior to shield tanking?
Quote:
Added CPU requirements to "Shield Power Relays", and balanced the meta levels.
Does this mean you nerfed SPRs also - or does this mean that the named ones will now have value?
Quote:
Battlecruiser & Command Ship shield recharge rate changed to 1400 seconds.
Ah... yet another nerf to shield tanking. Again... why? I mean, really - you make these changes but you provide NO rationale behind them. If your going to make a change like this, wouldn't it make for good PR to tell us WHY you are making a change this drastic?
You must have a reason - and I hope it isn't simply to appease the complaints of gunboat PVPers who "cant break a tank" on a properly fitted Drake (and haven't bothered to adjust their tactics to fit new technology).
I would really like to hear a reason behind this. You do realize that this represents a 12% nerf to tanking - thats almost 3 skill levels (my apologies if my math is off)!! This is a pretty significant change to lay on ONE style of play - passive tanking. These ships already suffer from a complete lack of functionality (fit anything in your mids and lows but tank mods and you can't passive tank) and have a very limited ability to respond to situations - there are no boosters or reppers to get you out from under that short term burst of damage.
Now you have nerfed thier only function - to be able to absorbe DoT - Damage Over Time.
So... why?

Colour me impressed.
A lot of positive changes here (or ones that dont have any relevance to how i play :-) and i just thought i should throw in my support for CCP since they have copped a fair bit of flak lately.
Now that i have finished with my suck-up, I might as well put in a request:
Rigs: Instead of just 3, have up to 5 determined by an appropriate skill. So instead of just being able to automatically chuck in 3 rigs to riggable? ship you have to train up for it. In my mind it works nicely with it being a rank 4 or 5 skill called Calibration and you can chuck the otherwise fairly pointless and fairly nonsensical ship stat of the same name. If a frigate with 5 rigs seems silly, either consider some doofus will have had to put in over month of training and 100mil+ for even cheap rigs to get that so let them waste their time. Or have number of rigs allowable also limited by ship size. Eg: Frigate: 1 Cruiser: 2 BattleCruiser: 3 Battleship: 4 Capital: 5. With all Tech II ships having their base ship type + 1.
Anyhow keep up the good work.

If you are running multiple clients then please follow the advice in the patch notes and use the "/end /LUA:OFF" switches. Station containers, about time.
Titans will be more vulnerable, carrier changes will make large scale POS managment harder so large alliances will have to scale down and protect smaller tracts of space, and AOE weapons could go either good or bad, not sure.
Space will be harder to take, unless you plan carefully, and over time.
Looks good to me, spice up the game a bit!

Is the LP limit per system still there? For exemple, with a 6.0 or so standing in a given system, all big missions give exactly XXXXX LP, and you can't increase it by increasing your standings further.

It starts at the day of the patch. Wouldn't be very nice of us to start a timer behind the scenes and not tell anyone about it. Some alliances might gain more than others from sheer coincidence, some tinfoil-hattery might ensue.

It starts at the day of the patch. Wouldn't be very nice of us to start a timer behind the scenes and not tell anyone about it. Some alliances might gain more than others from sheer coincidence, some tinfoil-hattery might ensue.
Awesome. Thanks. Does this mean all systems will have no sovereignty for seven days after the patch?
EDIT: or is it just the sovereignty level 2 counter that starts after the patch? |

All level 5 agents are Quality 12
That's nice for lvl 5's, but doesn't do anything about the lag in the Motsu area
Seriously though, it is something you should consider for all agents, since it'd spread people around, especially with the very nice change you made here making LP corp-wide...

Marie Slick: All currently claimed systems start off as Sovereignty 1. Then if they are held for 14 consecutive days they will upgrade to Sovereignty 2 and then it goes according to the listed formula above.

Originally by: Tonto Auri Rest in peace, it just boosting of large alliances and nerfing of small corps. "No one will be able to compete BoB"
You are incorrect, young alt. This is in fact a nerf to all but 4 alliances, and even they will be severely hit by this, titans are command level ships. I suspect the general members will still use carriers for personal asset transport, now almost impossible due to the inability to use GSCs.
So now, in CCP's wisdom, instead of my corp's forums looking like: "Transport request: 2x GSC named "elmicker""
It'll be "Transport request: 435 corpses 14 425mm II Railguns 10k Spike L Ammo 25 10mn MWD IIs 14 Kitchen sinks..."
And so on. I feel sorry for the poor buggers who have to haul the crap out there, who will now be forced to unneccessarily sort through thousands of items. I thought the whole point of Revelations 2.0 was to encourage more intense warfare. How, might i ask, are we meant to do that when all our modules are sitting in empire, as our carrier pilots spend hours sorting through modules, ejecting from the carrier, boarding the ity 5, loading the ity 5, storing it in the carrier, boarding the viator, filling the viator, storing the viator, boarding the carrier, jumping, waiting for cap recharge, jumping again, then spending more hours re-sorting the items for distribution at the far end.
Of course, this could just be a method of pushing us to establish T2 infrastructures in 0.0, rather than relying on imports from empire. But, how exactly are we meant to do that, when every single industry improvement has been sidelined in favour of laughably useless bombs and massive mothership buffs?
Way to totally pay attention to the community's requests, CCP. Totally unneccessary, MASSIVE nerfs for the ******* lose.

I'm not in Motsu
However, the fact is that people will gravitate towards high-Q agents, meaning a lot of people where those agents are, meaning lag. If people were spread out between all L4 agents, serverload would be spread across all systems with L4 agents, and much more easier to manage....
I can't in any way, shape or form see how this would make you 'suffer'...

Edited by: Tundaar on 15/06/2007 13:08:06 A huge number of things to take in - some of them very good, but I'm not sure about 0.0 warfare.
I hope I misunderstood but . . .
"Large structures have 100,000 shield, 1,500,000 armor and 5,000,000 structure (and 90% structure resistance given by the control tower), " - this include "all firepower, electronic warfare, and scanning arrays; cynosural field jammers and generators; and jump bridge towers"
This means that you will need to do in the region of 50 MILLION points damage to a single Cyno Jammer to kill it and enable a Cap fleet to come in - (I thought these were supposed to be tactical targets for non cap ships to give them a role in Sovereignty warfare?)
How the hell are you supposed to do that sort of damage without a fleet or Cap ships :-( . . . . there is nothing to stop somone simply dropping another one as they can now be anchored and deployed while a POS is in reinforced mode. Rev 2 has specific "Anti Fleet" measures . . . .So eliminates the usefulness of previous enhancements such as gang warps, Fleet command, Wing command etc.
Looks to me as if holders of space will not be losing it in any hurry once sovereignty is gained. All they have to do is perma bubble the chokepoints to their territory and no-one will be able to jump in to dispute it. Perma Gate camps of a dozend Carriers will ensure safety for en entire constellation.
IMO Rev 2 favours the Rich, existing alliances and will make them even more impregnable. I hope I can be proved wrong
I can see why BoB was so keep to get rid of ASCN and D2

Tundaar,
Structures gain their resistance from the control tower, the intention is that you only incapacitate the structure in the raid/support role, if you want to go all the way, you kill the control tower as normal, the structures will lose their resistance bonus once the control tower has been destroyed.

Originally by: Brady Guys while your reading can you respond to my comments regarding gangs of five people? I apoligse for the nastiness contained, but squads hold 10, wings hold 50...why did you choose 5? and is this likely to be increased? As it stands its silly. How will the game know which 5 to choose if there are 10 in gang?
5 may have been influenced, perhaps even subconsciously, by WOW 5 man instanced dungeon groups.
In any case, Devs, have you planned for the exploits associated with shared rewards for grinding in groups? These usually involve high levels power-leveling lower levels by grouping with them and running missions. The low levels stay out of the fight and still receive mission rewards.
Speaking of instanced content, it looks like we are getting our first truly instanced content in EVE in this patch:
Quote: Players start in their own protected dungeon out of harmÆs way Tutorial dungeon can be accessed again within 30 days of account creation. The dungeon can only be started in rookie systems
There are a lot of casual players who love instanced content, such as dungeons and battlegrounds. I'm guessing that a lot of new players will request more instances.
These requests and suggestions tend to start discussions about risk vs reward. Industrial toons that never undock from the station and specialize in market trading make tons of isks and are exposed to zero PVP combat risk and don't seem to ruin the game. Having made this point, I am sure that CCP designers could figure out how to put in even more instanced content, to keep the casual people happy, without ruining the game.
Did I miss the CCP statement on whether this expansion marks the end of the T2 lottery? If not, I'd like to request a quick word on this please. |

Was it really necessary to change the compounds again. Zydrine prices have doubled and tripled overnight. At the same time we haven't seen a drop in low end mineral prices.
This on average for example means the typcial cruiser will cost one to three million more to build, while battleships will suffer even more. The new folks are going to have a hard time buying and insuring their ships.
The Zyd prices had been slowly rising on their own, mostly because of the loss of the northern alliances space. There was no need to muddle with it further.....
The POS/Sovereignty rules I'm also fearing are going to heavily favor the large established alliances and pretty much prevent smaller and newer ones from getting any foothold in 0.0. I also fail to see how with the hp given to them that small ships are suppose to take out these structures your putting outside the shields in order to involve smaller ships. Its not going to work, given the hp someone will just bring a dread like now and just have someone target paint the structures.
Thoughts expressed are mine and mine alone. They do not necessarily reflect my alliances thoughts. |

I think it does exactly what you suggest it should do. It increases heat generation by 100%. If you don't overload the shield booster, you generate 0 heat right? So that means that the amplifier adds 100% of 0 heat is still 0 heat.

Nice patch...
One thing got me worried though....Currently I have hundreds of bpo's locked down , and for some reason my 'not in effects' tab entries (for sanctioning the unlocking after voting ends) are filled with invalid entries, hundreds of them...
These bugged entries lag down the whole unlocking system , which means it takes one minute to sanction a bpo to be unlocked. Also the columns reset each time you sanction an unlocking , meaning you have to sort the columns by date every time to find the real entry, which creates tons of lag. I am now in a situation where it is almost impossible to unlock bpo's due to lag!!!!
Petitioned , of course , and got answer that gm's can't do nothing , but issue will be resolved in new patch , yet when I look upon the patch notes , there's nothing saying this issue will be tackled.
So what's the deal? Will I be stuck with hundreds of locked down bpo's which will take me months unlocking? (if the lag doesn't kill me?)

This is considered gameplay functionality, not an exploit
Here's an example of the power-leveling approach from my prior post. A level 4 mission runner gangs with a new toon who stays docked in a station and afk. The level 4 mission runner runs a bunch of missions and the docked and afk new toon gets standings, loyalty points, and isks.
One concern I have about this scenario is that it opens the doors to power-leveling services that would provide the level 4 mission runner for RL cash. Under the current system, to hire a power-leveler you need to give them account access, but with the change of this patch you do not need to take this risk, as all you need to do is gang with them. (I'm not looking for a response here, just wanted to elaborate on my post to make sure it was understandable).
Originally by: CCP Greyscale These are not really "true" instances, and even if they were, this wouldn't signify a general shift in attitude towards instances
Got it. But speaking purely theoretically, do you think instanced content to appeal to casual folks could be added to EVE without ruining the game? ( I am looking for a response here, but I understand if one is not forthcoming). |

General Improvements Dozens of enhancements will be included with Revelations II, ranging from adding faction missiles to loot drops; the introduction of Tech II Sentry and Logistics drones; giving commanders the ability to transfer their gang-boosting role to another pilot; seeding the market with more gas cloud harvesters to encourage booster production; adding rogue drone commanders to exploration complexes; plus many more unique improvements to better the EVE experience for new and veteran players alike.

Does this actually mean that mobile labs that have restrictions removed so that they can be made for public use will actually work now ?
It would be great if this worked - it'd save people from having to join an alliance to do their research.
Quote: 2) Drone invention.
Whilst superb I noticed that all drones use Gallente Encryption to invent. Wouldnt this be more inline with the story if each race could invent its own drones ? Galente3s making TII drones for the amarrian scum makes me wonder where their true allegiences lie.
The reason for this (as already explained here) is that the Incognito (Gallente) data interface only has a handful of modules and other items associated with it. This helps to balance the relative usefulness of the 4 racial encryption skills. ------ Spreadsheets: Top speed calculation - Halo Implant tanking |

Before I read any of the responses, I just want to say after viewing the patch notes, I am stunned at the amount of content and changes being implemented. It really shows the level of work CCP have been putting into the game thus far.
I have been doing some testing on the test server, and there are a lot of exciting things going on. I am about to attempt to use my navy issue raven with gist fittings against a L5 mission, to see if they are 'battleship soloable'

I also have a question on the: "Missions now have basic gang support. Choosing the ôMe and my gang have completed the missionö option at the end of a mission will cause LP, ISK and Standing rewards to be split equally between up to five people in a gang."
Do all the gang memebers have to be present to win?
My Combat type guy would love to pay the hard work my industrialist does building him ships by improving his standings with various corps, thus making the cost of refining and reprocessing less (Lowering the Tax Rates)
But putting my indutrialist in harms way is not his idea of a fun way to spend the day (he would much rather be reading a tech manual then trying to figure out what button fires his weapons)

There was one new feature that I noticed on the test server that is not in the patch notes. You can add a "type" column to the overview that displays ship types, which is VERY cool. Will that be in the patch?

I think they are trying to benefit small alliaces to survive out there some more time, but in the other hand the superalliances are now harder to get, its a double edged blade, my view point is that, at least a small alliance has the chance to defend its station ( if it have only one) at all cost , disabling the enemy to coming in massive capital fleets. in the past, it happened a lot often, enemy comes to get a small alliace station, took it, basically destroyig the alliance but u see the station thet they took, two months later is just with 2 ppl in the whole system.
the rest of changes ive readed looks very cool, ty cpp for a little care for amarr ppl, ( my main is gonna thank u very much).
by the way im agreed with most ppl in wth are u guys gonna do with the whole invention thing since empire is almost impossible to copy a BPO, worst to research it.. an idea? u can create empire mobile labs and p2w ( pay to work)
something like pay the lab slot plus the normal process time etc well just an opinion..
take care.

Ah... yet another nerf to shield tanking. Again...
So... why?
The point is :
It does not matter for any BC/CS except the Drake.Armortanks do not need it anyway and the others do active tanking.
The shield tank of a drake is really good if corretly fitted, but if done so, the attack DPS sucks ! T2 Launcher? .. good joke.. ecm.. what?
I say you are right, the gank squads complained about not ganking a solo player that easy anymore and ccp changed it on the fly.
Isn't it enough advantage to simply fly away from fight with a drake because he can't fit a scrambler ?
Who ever changed anything against those Ganktrons!
How the heck can ONE ! BS gank other T2 BS so easily ?
Oh no, it's good for gankers which power the economy by killing ships ... isn't it?

There are a lot of casual players who love instanced content, such as dungeons and battlegrounds. I'm guessing that a lot of new players will request more instances.
These requests and suggestions tend to start discussions about risk vs reward. Industrial toons that never undock from the station and specialize in market trading make tons of isks and are exposed to zero PVP combat risk and don't seem to ruin the game. Having made this point, I am sure that CCP designers could figure out how to put in even more instanced content, to keep the casual people happy, without ruining the game.
These are not really "true" instances, and even if they were, this wouldn't signify a general shift in attitude towards instances
I doubt it really needs to be said, but please don't take the quoted opinions about the desires of casual players to be representative of all of them. There are certainly casual players who don't desire this, and also some (Hi!) for whom a spread of instanced content in EVE would be a huge degradation of the game's appeal.
Thanks. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

patch notes look good and so does what i saw on the test server. however i have 1 little problem about this release
Tech 2 Ammo can now be invented. Tech 2 Drones can now be invented.
drones i can understand but ammo. if im not mistaken theres probably at least 120 t2 bpos of each ammo type out in the eve populaces hands (not mine :( ) anyway profit in that will be almost non existant if not profitable at all.
with regards to my rough estimation of numbers, thats coming from a previous post by a dev, a while ago who said that they were thinking of seeding 3 times the amount of bpos in the current lottery seed that is almost over.
drones on the other hand is a good choice as a lot of people were asking for them to be made possible to invent ---------------------------- BOB 4 LIFE NOT JUST 4 A DAY ----------------------------

lots of changes.. let's see how they work out.. looks like a hell load of good stuff ;-)
for the changed paths: i have two clients running on the same machine. will this work with the new setting or are the two clients overwriting each others files? or is there/will there be an command line option to set a specific path? for example store setting for client 1 in c:\eve\1 and for client 2 in c:\eve\2 (not the game-dirs)... would be much easier to put that stuff on a ramdrive as well if would be able to do that

As for a waste of training time: How about the T2 EANM nerf that ruins every Blasterthron setup I have, making them impossible to fit without using faction modules? The cost of my entry-level Blasterthron ships just jumped by 50 million ISK for no good reason.

The REASON is actually good enough (Amarr needing a boost).....
Whether nerfing EANM's is the right solution though, that's debatable.... Personally I don't think it'll mean much since people who fit for tank usually die anyway to people who fit for damage...
As with everything else in this patch, we'll see in a couple of weeks time whether it works or not.....

"Level 4 will become closer to Level 3 in difficulty, the jump up will not be as drastic as it is now."
However, I saw nothing in the most recent patch notes posted for 2.0 that owuld indicate this is still a go. I only saw references to the addition of Lvl 5 Agents. Soooo, are Lvl 4 missions still going be down-graded in difficulty and risk per the feb. blog, or will all Lvl 4 missions remain the same?

Adapt or quit. They could triple the CPU needs of EANMs, and it wouldn't affect me in even the tiniest way (well, I guess it would, since it would make them cheaper to buy). Whee...I can also not care about what other people feel is a serious problem. Neat, huh?
Completely unrelated: On the LP store front, do you only have the ability to view err..."offers" that you currently have enough LP to purchase, or does the list show everything? Since there is apparently going to be actual differences in what different corporations within the same faction offer (which has never been true before), it would be a little annoying if you were looking for something specific, and didn't find out until you had a half million LP that the corporation you chose to fly for didn't offer it.

This is a confusing sentence. Please clarify.
You say that it would occasionally result in a GCC. Currently as long as there are no online weapons at the starbase, CONCORD will always come. Did you fix some loophole / specific instance or is this a sweeping change in the de facto game mechanics that all of the research alliances will need to adapt to?
In Revelations II, if you war dec a corporation, are their high security starbases free game?

Can this patch be renamed "Revelations: Age of the supercapitals"
Building supercapitals is now risk free.
POSes in systems with level 4 sovereignty are invulnerable. The only way to engage them is to conquer at least half of the systems in the constellation. Any alliance worth their salt will just place their capital in their largest constellation, and spam every moon in the constellation with small POSes (or large, if they can afford it) and pile every tower full with days worth of strontium. You can now extend the period before your supercapital construction POSes are vulnerable to weeks. Even then, they'll have days of fighting to knock down your Cyno jammers with no capitals.
I think we'll be seeing alot more motherships in the field in about 3 months' time.

My vacation is coming up, so I won't be able to finish up on EVE Launcher 2 before Revelations is here, nor will I be able to work on it for the next 4 weeks or so. However, I'm pulling out an old version of the code (the current one, as far as users are concerned) and trying to add a few quick fixes as well as solving this problem. If all goes well, I should have it fixed by Tuesday night. If not, at least some where next week.

Prolly already been said I haven't read all this thread but I will try to catch it up.
IMHO first off the good stuff, I think most of the changes you are making are awesome and a step in the right direction. The bad stuff is simply, I don't think enough has been done to negate the effect super-capitals have on the battlefield, and if you think giving ms more toys to play with are going to see the death of fleet engagements, your sorely mistaken. What you've just done is simply move pvp into the hands of the isk rich and further from the grasp of the isk not so rich. The fleet engagements you will see now, will simply be capital and super-capital blobbing. Hell your already seeing it.
On the whole but alot of positive changes made. -------------------------------------------------

In case you've forgotten CCP, there are OTHER factions in the game! Why are all the faction improvements always Amarr, Caldari, Gallente, Minmatar?
What about use half-breads that live in Ammatar? We are 1/2 Amarr and 1/2 Minmatar, and we get totally forgotten about. We have feelings too. We need some loving
Why don't we get any more R&D agents? We only have 2 R&D agents and they are level 3 agent and belong to the one corporation in Ammatar space that nobody does missions for.
How are we ever going to get our own faction ships if we don't have decent R&D agents?
DON'T LEAVE US AGAIN DADDY WE'LL BE GOOD THIS TIME

Lot of messages, and don't have much time to look through all of them right now. I'll look later..
For Vista -- Any chance we can break away from DirectX's directsound and switch to OpenAL? The problem with DirectSound, is that it no longer supports hardware acceleration, and I'm having to use Creative's ALchemy to port the DirectSound to the OpenAL state (which thankfully gets rid of most of the pops and clicks and restores EAX capability..)

One thing I'd like to know:
What happens to people who have already trained Starbase Tactical Officer? That skill is not present on Singularity. So do you simply delete it from TQ characters or will it be simply replaced by Starbase Defense Management? By the latter the requirement of Anchoring V could be bypassed and what with people who have trained it to, say, level 4 or something?
Thanks.

Something else, that just came up my mind:
Quote: Logging out inside a starbase forcefield will now not activate an emergency warp, provided that you have rights to stay inside the forcefield.
1. What happens if your aggression timer is active and 2. Does the ship disappear immediately or after a certain delay?
If emergency warp is stil triggered with an active aggression timer, is it visible in 0.0 the same way as anywhere in empire?

Great-looking patch! A few replies to some...
Originally by: Kai Lae On another note, though I realize you have many things to do CCP, I note with displeasure the fact that you still haven't fixed the bugs relating to ECM bursts in that frequency modulation doesn't work and no caldari ship EW bonuses affect the module (other than the scorpion). You'd figure that this should be a fairly simple fix too.
"Clarified the description of Electronic Warfare skill to emphasize that ECM and ECM burst are different types of modules and thus are not in general affected by the same skills."
Originally by: Elmicker Totally unneccessary, MASSIVE nerfs for the ******* lose.
Yeah, a less than 15% nerf to cargo capacity is MASSIVE, totally destroying the use of carriers as transports. Too bad that's not what they're supposed to carry anyway.
Originally by: Lady Natacha Consider testing all this stuff for at least 2 more weeks before deploying, especially if the list of bugs on the known issues page has not been resolved completely.
Honeslty, as long as this patch doesn't have any really serious bugs, I'll take it ASAP bugs and all. It fixes (or at least improves) some things which are simply broken in the game right now (passive BC tanks) and I'll put up with some iconveniences for the better of the game. Also, I haven't encountered any serious bugs on Singularity so let's hope for the best. I know a lot of players have been testing stuff.

The reasons are actually pretty obvious. The Drake as it is absorbs tons of damage but doesn't do crap, it's a "turtle tank". For example, I was in a gang of four smallish ships trying to kill a Drake the other day. We couldn't kill him but he couldn't even kill an Assault Frig. Getting rid of this is a good thing.
Originally by: Ice Globe Hope our amarr recons don't get too much of a nerf.
Not too much, though if the change is what I think it is you might have to mix nosferatus and neutralizers a bit more.

I think a lot of people are going to be very happy with the Data Export section.
One thing I've started to notice about Eve's Data; is that CCP mak's it public once a large minority uses the data to gain the upper hand:
Data Export Came about soon after sites like Eve-I started to pull information out of the client.
Market Export After a few people managed to work out how to pull market prices out of machonet. The market 'correction' followed soon after.
Map Information After one or two enterprising people managed to pull map data out for sovreignity and outpost information.
Not a criticism, just an observation. All this extra data is good, but it does seem that it's driven by people diving into Eve's data cache.

Everything looks like it'll be great when the patch hits :) I just have one question regarding the POS structure changes: When the patch hits, what will happen to the structures already anchored inside a POS shield? will they be randomly thrown out of the shield into a new location, or will they need to be unanchored and reanchored outside the POS shields? If this has already been answered i apologise for askign again, i obviously didnt read the patch notes or this thread well enough if i missed it :P

1. A month or so ago I submitted a bug report that the Missile Reload All does not always work, I got a response that this was a Known Error. Was this error fixed in this upate?
2. In a Dev blog earlier in the year there was mention that the harder Lvl 4 missions would move to Lvl 5. Is this still true? (please say no as I like the harder missions)

For example, I was in a gang of four smallish ships trying to kill a Drake the other day. We couldn't kill him but he couldn't even kill an Assault Frig. Getting rid of this is a good thing.
If by this you mean that it will force ppl to stop using mid slots to tank and using them for other things, then I would like to know just what a missile boat can load in its mid slots that will make it so much more dangerous in PVP.
Target Painter? I already hit frigs that aren't moving fast at close to full strength with good skills using heavy missiles.
Webber? If CCP dropped the lead out of the shorts on Caldari ships - they are currently almost as bad as the next class up of Minmatar ships for agility and mass... THEN maybe they might have a good chance of tackling to use a web. Other than that, ask around, how likely it will be for a Drake to tackle anything but other Caldari ships of the same class or larger...
Some mythical mod that increased the explosion velocity of missiles? THIS might give Caldari ships a role in PvP again, but it will never happen. You have all kinds of tracking enhancers for turrets - to compensate for fast moving ships. Missiles have no such mod to compensate for speed. They have a fixed ceiling for effective combat - ALL MISSILES - this is not a case of dropping a turret size (large to medium to small) or fitting faster tracking turrets (blasters instead of rail guns) - ALL missiles have absolute limits to their ability to hit fast targets. Currently there is only one missile in the game that has a chance of doing much damage to a ship moving 4k/s - light precision missiles. And someone with decent skills will be maxxed out at about 5400m/s. There is no mid slot mod that will compensate for the speed of a target. If CCP added one, then those precious mid slots might be used for something other than mods that arent much use to a missile boat.
In short, many Caldari ships specialize in missiles. The Drake is one of those missile boats - it has no turret slots. These ships have many mid slots - and almost no useful mods to stick in there to help with DPS. Webber and Target Painter - and both have limited usefulness on a Drake. So what can be done?
So, I am hoping that CCP will reverse this decision - nerfing BC shield recharge is aimed entirely at the Ferox and Drake. The only thing these ships do well is tank. Their DPS sucks. The Ferox doesn't even have the proper number of turret slots. The Drake can't even use turrets.
Currently the Drake has a role in PvP only because it has a great tank - it is survivable. That gives it a place in fleet and in gangs. Take away its tank and it is just another Raven - to be found in mission hubs and ratting NPCs.

@Tomhu: Who said I was talking about midslots? Anyway, the Drake and Ferox will still have a better-than-average tank with their resistance bonuses and maybe some BCSs in lows will help a bit on the damage front.

Speaking of Program Files - I've never seen in my life any gamer more or less competent in computers, who install games at Program Files - games are always going to "Games" folder... so it's rather fun, if annoying, to see each new game stubbornly offering to be installed to Program Files by default ;)
Speaking of multiple users on one machine - well ok, I do believe that some people have some unfathomable reasons to set up several users on one PC, but hey - I've never did so in my life so why on the Earth should I suffer from this far-fetched unnatural issue?
At the very least, program should offer choice to user if he want to use this "multi-user" mumbo or just to plainly keep one game in one folder. //sarcasm towards "multi-user" isn't intended to be offending, it's just a way to express my feelings ;)

You say that it would occasionally result in a GCC. Currently as long as there are no online weapons at the starbase, CONCORD will always come. Why not store them in Program Files? I keep all my games in "C:\Program Files\Games\whatever" and that works just fine. If you don't like Program Files having a space in it, I made an NTFS hardlink "C:\Prog" that just redirects to Program Files.
You also have to remember that Vista now won't let non-Administrator programs modify Program Files, so storing settings in the profile directory makes sense. This modification is a necessary compatibility change for Windows 2000, XP and Vista, to better comply with Microsoft recommended best practises for data file locations.
Microsoft wants all writeable data to be stored in the Application Data folders on Windows and has begun enforcing that in Windows Vista. We want the EVE client to behave in the same manner on all Windows platforms so we made a uniform change.

This modification is a necessary compatibility change for Windows 2000, XP and Vista, to better comply with Microsoft recommended best practises for data file locations. Microsoft wants all writeable data to be stored in the Application Data folders on Windows and has begun enforcing that in Windows Vista. We want the EVE client to behave in the same manner on all Windows platforms so we made a uniform change.
sorry for the stuipd question but:
I have a main and a alt on this account. do I have to have a seperate folder for each chacater or just one per account? I run two accounts from the same PC. Each one has 2 characters.

From the wording, it seems to imply that only jumpdrives in capitals and supercapitals will be affected by this, and jumpgates will not. Is this the case?
I'm not sure who started the rumor that bubbles stop you from using gates, but they need to be shot. The only change is that bubbles will now stop ships(caps & supercaps) from using their jumpdrives while in a bubble. ---- AUS Corp Lead Megalomanic |

You can add the "/end /LUA:OFF" switches to your shortcut(s) and then you don't have to change anything in your setup. The "cache" folder(s) will then stay in the program directory/ies but the "capture" folder(s) will move to MyDocs. Alternatively you can read this thread for some interesting setup for multiple accounts / multiple servers.

Can't the LUA:OFF just leave the capture folder where it is too? I want to keep all my chat logs etc seperate to each character/account and don't want them all mixed up. Seeing as its been fine that way for 4 years, its not going to kill you to add this extra funtionality to the switch.
Oh, and you shouldn't move people files without asking. I'd also suggest that my docs is a crappy place for logs seeing as it is often redirected to a network share. Local settings is also a crappy place for the cache as its not copied with roaming profiles.
The problem is that while this might be needed for vista compatability, the places and way EVE stores is files is hardly designed with vista in mind, it might have been better to redesign what/where/how first but there you go.

Thanks for the comments.
We have to move the files to maintain compatibility with Windows Vista, there isn't much choice. Sorry.
We think MyDocs is an ideal place for those logs since that's the place users would store pictures and screenshots anyway and storing chatlogs and marketlogs there as well seems quite natural. This is not going to generate heavy network traffic. We are using "Local Settings\Application Data" exactly because that's where non-roaming data should be stored.
Thanks to all of you for all the feedback during the development of Revelations II. We start the deployment in 15 hours. We hope you enjoy it!

Edited by: Helison on 18/06/2007 11:18:39 Edited by: Helison on 18/06/2007 11:15:51 Ok, I have also still a few questions and requests regarding the moving of cache + settings + captures:
Important: *) Which folders will be MOVED (screenshot?), which will be DELETED and newly created in the new location (Machonet etc.?) and in which cases will the old data remain in the old place and new data will be written to the new location? *) What will happen, if you use normally use the "/end /LUA:OFF"-switch, but you forget once about it? *) Please give us a warning-window before starting to MOVE any bigger folders like screenshots. This operation can make massive problems to several systems, specially when having low free space on system-disk.
Would be very nice: *) A tool by CCP for managing Cache + Settings + Captures including purging or compressing all old logs etc. I don¦t want to have to install a third-party tool for this mess, which is created by CCP. *) An official option (during Install or ingame) for selecting the location of all temporary files (including logs + captures). *) Auto-compress of all logs after 24h.
PS: In my current capture-folder (with all logs) are 31k files (with 280MB). I really don¦t think that MyDocs is a good place for this.

The files have to be in the new location, I can understand that. Moving 40,000 log files and screenshots (Over 1GB) to my network is not acceptable WITHOUT ASKING. The client doesn't give any progress indication, it simply dissapears until it has finished (also not good as it looks like it crashed).
The second instance of EVE that is run, sees the new folders and doesn't bother copying anything at all! (Which is good in a way, I can't sepearate them after they are merged anyway).
Local settings is a good place for the Cache, it is not a good place for the Settings folder!

Overview
* The overview is now 'in front' of the in space icons. This will prevent accidental targeting of the wrong target when the icon and the overview entry are in the same place on screen.
this is not happening with this patch. I talked to QA about this on sisi earlier and was told that the overview was ment to be able to be clicked through by design.
I hope they change their minds on this.

Right now every test server patch moves all the data from the cache folder in the EVE install path to MyDocuments etc. Please, please add a check box to future patchers to not do this, otherwise you have to move all files from MyDocuments and LocalSettings back to where you want to have it.
I would be very gratefull for it!

You will be able to run multiple accounts without any modifications, since the client automatically handles multiple accounts and multiple characters. If you look in the folder "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\cache\Settings" you will see the current settings files.
The only conflict players might have is when running multiple different clients against multiple servers, i.e., one client against Tranquility, another client against Singularity and the third client against Multiplicity (all different client versions). That's when you need to use the "/end /LUA:OFF" switches, or perhaps examine the advice in this thread, to prevent the different clients from conflicting with each other.
We start deployment in 7 hours. Enjoy!

A little suggestion:
Make the path: Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\<Server Name>\cache and Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\<Server Name>\settings
That would maybe solve the multi-server issue. Simply change the path the application uses after server selection and login. As the Sisi client shouldn't be able to run on TQ and vice versa this might be an option.
Thoughts?

While it's nice to hear someone has some idea what the deal was, i've also heard via the IRC dev chat that it may have been a 'joke' and no meaningful changes were being made.
Either way, an official answer on this would be nice considering the excessively cryptic way it was handled.

Small meta and t2 nosferatu's also get a range bonus now, like the medium and heavy ones. Small Nosferatu II drain amount decreased to 9.6 and range decreased to 5500 meters.
so they did post the nos changes. I know we all hoped for more (or should I say a lot less) than just a boost to small nos.

Sorry, but... what?
I apologise if this has been answered completely already somewhere else.
Some of us aren't programmers. It would be VERY helpful for your customers who choose to pay for multiple accounts if you either created a tool to install the patch to allow for multiple accounts OR provide VERY CLEAR instructions in plain English on how to configure the game to allow for unrestricted use for multiple accounts.
The link you sent us to, as far as I can tell, does NOT answer the question for Win XP users with multiple accounts.
Can you PLEASE help us out on this one?
Sorry CCP Explorer, but "You can add the "/end /LUA:OFF" switches to your shortcut(s)" doesn't mean anything to me. And, no, I am not going back to school to learn what it means just to play the game.

Non programmers can just ignore that option, since non-technical people wont have a clue where stuff goes anyway, so that option is meaningless - just ignore the background stuff and carry on as normal.
Technical people who want settings set up on ramdisks or whatever already have the knoledge to add that parameter.
So in other words, people who are technical can use a technical option, and non-technical people wont care since they dont mess about with settings folders anyway. Just ignore it and play multiple accounts as normal.
An Analogy is your car - Just turn your key to start the car as normal - dont get involved with what changes are being made to the engine, since they wont make a difference to the number of passengers from your perspective. THose who want their engine tuned to a certain way already have the knowledge to make the modification.

I think (not 100% certain) that you have to add the switch mentioned ("/end /LUA:OFF") to the end of the shortcut pathway that you use to start eve. To do this right click on the short cut icon and go into properties, in the shortcut tab there is a field called 'Target' add the switch to the end of the pathway but before the ". Sorry if I'm wrong but I believe that is what it means. I've done similar stuff for different games in the past.
Hope it Helps Wild Xenria

Then you need to tell us what you want to do then people can give advise. Read you post. Yeah call me the bad guy because you were unable to provide the information on what you wanted to do. If your question was "How do I setup this shortcust" then someone would have given you a Link with a example. Or if you asked nicely, someone would have made you a shortcut themselves.
Re-read your original post where you basically slam the developers for adding this option.

Then you need to tell us what you want to do then people can give advise. Read your own post, which is exactly the type of post that would fit in with COAD. Yeah call me the bad guy because it was you who was unable to provide the information on what your objective was. If your question was "How do I setup this shortcust" then someone would have given you a Link with a example. Or if you asked nicely, someone would have made you a shortcut themselves.
Re-read your original post where you basically slam the developers for adding this option. In Eve forums, constructive posts gives results.
I didn't slam anyone. My post was polite AND constructive - I was requesting more information or a tool. I went out of my way to apologize right from the start if it HAD been answered elsewhere, and I said "please" several times. If you read it that way then you added the negative tone into my message all by yourself.
I wasn't slamming the Devs, but, TBH, I think I had a right to be a little peeved. There has been scant to no information from CCP on how to address this problem. They made major changes and really only informed us that they were making changes - without addressing any remedy for those of us concerned, except to speak in a language that other programmers understand. I think that the rest of us deserve a simple explanation to this problem, or, as was suggested by another poster, a tool that will solve this installation problem for multiple account customers.
I think that quoting the Dev on his answer to someone who had the same question is sufficient background on what I wanted to accomplish. The poster above you managed to answer my question in 3 very short sentences. Your post was arrogant trash.
I usually try not to get wrapped up in drama - and this isn't the place for it, so I won't be responding to your next flame.

I don't think we got a response to my question first time round so try again:
I notice that you can overheat NOS and Neuts, but you cannot overheat cap boosters or cap rechargers. Seems a bit of a mistake ? Or has that been accounted for in the NOS changes (which you have not divulged).
?
I'm asking if the NOS changes are balanced taking heat into account ?

I seriously need some kind of skill training queue. Even if it is just 1 skill!! I only have a small amount of time to play EVE during the week, but lots more time on the weekend. Trying to juggle skill training so that the skill doesnt end when I cant log on is driving me mad. I would love to be able to queue a few short skills in order, and make the last one battleship V, so I know it will always be doing something useful.

Ok. I am a little confused about this multiple account problem.
I currently use multiple accounts and I often access the chatlogs and game logs. Will these change location from the folder where I install the game?
Will they all be saved in one location? All mixed together, making it hard to pull out the logs from one account?
If this is the case, what can I do to keep these accounts separate for the logs? Is that what the /Lua comment a few posts above was for?

Yes the logs will now be in your My Documents path. Yes the logs will all be saved in the same location and mixed up No, /LUA:OFF only affects the behaviour of the cache folder, without this you will also have only a single cache for all your instances!
Take a backup, it even moves your current capture contents to its new location without asking.
The fixes mentioned earlier (environmental variables) also only affect the cache, the capture folder is read directly with the User Shell Folders and Shell Folders key.
These currently are redireced to my network home share.
I have now started to write a little vb.net application to alter my registry keys, start the client instance, pause and then return them to the real values. I will put another delay in so that I can't read the wrong reg keys by trying to start all my client instances too fast.
I really don't see whats so hard about making the LUA option leave the capture alone too!

Am i going crazy? must be lack of sleep but doesnt the following happen tommorrow ? Those worm holes are having a effect
Qoute: Update: The following was added to the patch notes at approximately 1100 GMT on 20 June: [red]IMPORTANT! When the patch has been deployed, your client(s) patched and you log in for the first time, the cache folder will migrate to the new location specified in the patch notes. Depending on the size of your cache folder, this may be hardly noticeable, it may take several minutes. Please be patient while this happens and do NOT restart your client if it appears to 'hang'! Thank you. Exploit fixes were added to the bottom of the patch notes.

Man! My Signature nerf was SO not suppsoed to be ! My "persona" ingame is Emokitteh, for real! And my themesong is the Gummibears! Should I jsut put up a prancing pony instead? Like wtf :( please give it back :(
Anyways, Considering the movement of logs. Nothing will be lost...right? :O The ladies man. Your signature graphic must reflect your ingame persona as per The Forum rules - Sahwoolo Etoophie ([email protected]) Oh mai GOD! |

How to prevent the new changes so that it retains the old capture location instead of using the new format. It's in the patch notes but their syntax doesn't work the way they laid it out. It works how I have it listed. ============================================= [CYPHE] Cypher Technologies [email protected] Kemerk / Maalna |

Hohenheim, did you restart your comp? I had the same thing happen. I restarted, then it happened again, except right when I was ready to call it a night, about 2 minutes later (I didn't attempt another start btw), the login came up. I don't know if this will help.

I guess I should also include the part about there being only 8 people showing as online, and that I was denied login because the cluster was down. Everyone has the right to be stupid, but some people abuse the privilegenull

Downloading a 14Mb build from the client. I'm not expecting to get on any time soon, but just wondering if this is correct? ------------------- My opinions (ie, all of my posting here) are not my corporations. Nor should it be taken as such. |

Really m8, u knew the patch was coming,, what possessed you to start a agent mission..just before the patch?
I just started playing EVE a day before the patch... I didn't know it was coming, and well, I suppose new players might miss that sort of thing...
