I LOVE EFT!!! ... and use it all the time.
A few things that would make it even more enjoyable and a much better tool:
1. "open ship browser", the ships are in no particular order, why not alphabetize them?
2. Ship browser has no "search" function to search ships by name or by fitting name.
3. ship fittings open in separate window inside EFT, tabs would be better than sub-windows.
4. If you stick with sub-windows, why not have a "maximize" function to stick the window to the frame
5. in the top left item browser, why not have two tabs one for "all fittings" and one for "favorites"/"recently used"?
6. Add an option when r-clicking an item to "add to favorites" in addition to just "show info"
7. Shields show the "self-recharge time", but not the recharge rate with boosters on including any cumulative effects from rigs and/shield boost amplifiers
8. "Active Drones", "Boosters and Implants", and "projected effects" could be better placed in the large blank spot under the Fleet/Wing/suqad commander.
9. You should be notified if an update is available when you open the EFT and prompted to begin download or not. Currently, one must check the forum periodically to see if an update has come out.
These things would really take EFT to the next level I think. It's still a great program (and complicated to program/maintain I'm sure), but it does have a bit of a clunky feel to the interface ... and I'm saying that as an EVE player.

I've run into the problem of importing skills through the API. The skills on different alts are not downloaded from the account even though I select them in the connection window. I've changed the API but still no joy. I only get the skills for one toon. Obviously I'm missing something. Any help? |

Found a bug (maybe). Cycle time and cap use armor gang links apply to capital armor rep. AFAIK they don't in game.

BUG REPORT:
The skill bonuses for Subsystem skills appear to be incorrectly applied (at least for all 5 Proteus subsbystems, I have not tested the Tengu, Loki and Legion).
For the 5 gallente subsystem skills, a static bonus is being applied (as if the skills were permanently at level 1), instead of per level. Changing the skill levels in the character sheet does not affect the relevant ship and module attributes.
For example, say I have Augmented Plating, Covert Reconfig, Friction Extension, Powercore, and Interdiction subs fitted, I get 10% to armor HP, 5% to damage, 10% to scram/ruptor range, 5% to grid adn 5% to agility, STATIC. Changing my skill levels (to a more realistic level 4 for example) does not affect these bonuses to become 40%, 20%, 40%, 20% and 20%. It essentially makes EFT useless for coming up with proteus fits. _______________________________________________ Mercenary Forces |

EFT is incorrectly calculating optimal and falloff for ECM ships. For reference I'll give you my relevant skills and the in-game optimals versus EFT optimals when I'm in a Blackbird.
Frequency Modulation 3 Long Distance Jamming 3 Signal Dispersion 3 Caldari Cruiser 4
Blackbird Lows: Signal Distortion Amplifier II Signal Distortion Amplifier II Mids: 4x ECM - Spatial Destabilizer II Sensor Booster II 10mn MWD

I aggree, I actually ran some numbers, calculating my my skills and modules and rigs and found that on a Falcon I can get 80+km optimal. I think theres a problem with the SDA II's in the fact that they arne't showing a stacking penalty.
Edit: Confirmed. SDA II's in EFT aren't bound by the stacking penalty as they are in the game.

For instance, I set up a punisher build where I could perma-run everything stable at around 45% cap with my current skills. In game, however, cap is gone within 2m and isn't even stable with just two of the modules on.
Cap stability seems to be off even when it's stable in game... punisher with cold-gas arcjet, small armor rep ii, and 3x capacitor power relay should be stable at 41%, but in-game is 37.5%. Add 3 gatling pulse lasers and a j5b warp scram (ignoring NOS since in game seems to ignore it), I get almost 10m of cap in EFT but under 2m in game. Any clues on this one?
EDIT: Just realized this is the same issue as the previous post - EFT doesn't seem to be properly calculating stacking penalties. |

Ack! Forgot one thing to add to the list above.
It would be awesome if you also had the ability to "browse" fittings by slot type.
Can't tell you how many times I've crammed a bunch of cool fittings onto my ship, then have just that one low slot, or mid/high that's empty and I just need something to put in that particular slot that only need 20 cpu or 24 Powergrid.
Would be cool if you could get all the fittings for that slot, sort them in ascending order of cpu/powergird need and shop for things that would fit.

An option to restore previously open windows (with positions and sizes) when starting could be very useful if you have to reopen EFT a lot.
Also a way to save current program state either with a save button or periodically every xx minutes in case of power failure or abnormal program termination.

The blackbird bonus in EFT does not match the bonus in-game:
EFT: 15% bonus to ECM Target Jammer strength and 20% bonus to ECM Target Jammer optimal range per skill level.
In Game: 15% bonus to ECM Target Jammer strength per level 10% bonus to ECM Target Jammer optimal range and falloff per level.

You can hover your mouse above shield and armor icons and there will be shield ehp and armor ehp shown in the tooltips.

A) "tracking speed" would be good to display, so you know if you can hit a frig or not.
B) under "change affecting skill" it would be awesome if the sub-menus were based on "cpu", "powergrid", "damage", "rate of Fire", "capacitor usage", etc. so you could find the skill that affects a particularlar aspect of the fitting.
Currently, you have to blindly blast away at the listed skills to find the ones that affect the stat you are concerned about.

I found a little bug. when there is no skill in training, EFT doesnŠt proberly download the character data and all skill are beeing reset to 0.

Another bug I just found. The Loki Defensive subsystem in game has a powergrid bonus, the EFT subsystem does not. So it's short by 150 Pg

Loving the tool, one thing that i'm sure others would like is an option to change to darker colours or make it negative so it's friendly to my eyes when I alt-tab out of game in a dark room. Oh god it burns...

That seems to be more of a problem that originates from how EVE handles paused skill training. I experienced this issue while my alts training was paused instead of stopped. If you remove all skills from the queue or continue skill training the problem will probably not occur. This issue is btw not limited to EFT, I had it with EVEMon too.
@Gripen EFT is the most useful tool ever created for all those addicted to EVE Online ;-) Keep up the good work!

EFT does not work if the Arial font in Windows Vista x86 is corrupt. It gives a Send/Dont Send error at startup.
