Edited by: Chezaka on 23/08/2007 00:44:18 I've been working on a tool which you could call an Add-on for EFT. The goal is to lookup prices of modules + price of the whole ship-setup, automatically, getting info out of this database, where the entry of prices is aimed to be user-driven.
It's absolutely beta phase. The tool should work fine, i hope the installer does as well. But at this moment i just need a few people wanting to test this and tell me how it worked out.

Edited by: SublightNova on 23/08/2007 08:29:37 Awesome tool but there are some major bugs...
The API function is nice but:
The character editor doesn't work.. (correctly)... If I import my character through the API, some skills aren't shown (e.g. the entire learning branch is not there). On the implants tab I cannot select the implants I'm using (not all implants are listed).
On the actually ship fitting I can only select (all skills level 5) and it doesn't seem to use my character's skills.
oh... and some forum admin/mods needs to get their act together and sticky this.

Because they are of no use at all for EFTs task.
Quote: On the implants tab I cannot select the implants I'm using (not all implants are listed).
Same - implants that simply enhance attributes do not affect the ability to use and fit ships. They would just clutter the list.
Quote: On the actually ship fitting I can only select (all skills level 5) and it doesn't seem to use my character's skills.
Then you probably haven't added and imported your character correctly through the API.

Awesome tool! Love it from 1st time xRazoRx gave link to me.
Addition of proxy support solved my problems of thinking about setups at work!!! Great feature!
I have one more feature request: Can modal windows with "module info" close by Esc button? Really annoying to find this X symbol on each window...
Great tool anyways!

Great tool, I found one bug and I have one request.
BUG The liquid cooled electronics rig does not update CPU at all.
REQUEST It would be nice to customize your hp by the attacker's DPS distribution.
Example: The attacker outputs 60% thermal and 40% kinetic damage.
EFT then tells you how much DPS can your setup absorb under those conditions.
secondly...
Your ship only shows the raw DPS output, not the specific EM/th/ki/ex.
Thanks again for a great tool Get your fix today |

Firstly, this tool is wonderful. Congrats Gripen for some great work!
Any chance to have an indication of how much Armor is repaired / Shield is boosted per min as well? I often use perma-repper setups that don't have particularly high HP, but EFT doesn't really acknowledge this except for the cap part.

This looks quite promising, but the price upload feature could be improved a great deal by making it work via regional/trade hub averages obtained from market exports, which many people already collect and submit to www.eve-central.com. As an added bonus, you could then compare how much your setup costs in different regions.

I've finished updating the server platform to use eve-central.com originated price data. Makes the tool so much more useful since all prices are right there now ready to be used, instead of waiting for the list to grow and get complete. In the process i've added the price data to the item database itself as well.
I yet have to update the client program to remove the submitting parts, and i might actually do something with your suggestion on regions.
Thanks for pointing it out!

Minor bug:
When doing info on e.g. 250mm Light artillery cannon II (think the same issue with all of them) optimal range is listed as 9660. However, when I fit it it says 4.8+8 and if I do "show module info" from the setup it says 4830 on optimal range.
P.S. was this tool opensourced? just wondering, haven't found it anywhere.
Thanks for doing this m8!

There seems to be a bug with the Vindicator's bonus to MWD cap penalty.. after fitting a mwd, I actually ended up having more cap than before (went from 6750 to 7088 having minmatar BS lvl4 set; with lvl5 it goes up to 7594). I have no idea if this is a intended feature ingame too, because I haven't flown a Vindi yet. ----- I reject your reality and substitute my own! |

Bump!
And also it would be nice if the ship data was stored in an easily modifiable format, so values like Max PG and CPU could be change in the event of minor changes like the recently released modifications to the Khanid Mk II ships.

Chezaka you add-ons really bloody useful mate, helps a ton for costing up. However the E5 energy vampire isn't coming up with a price bud. I'll post any other bits of missing data as I go through it mate.
Cheers for the effort put in for this.

Glad you find it useful!
About the E5 energy vamp, you are correct. The price is currently not in the database, but that is because it isn't avaliable atm in the local database. And THAT is because no price info is currently available at the eve-central database.
Basically 95% of all modules are probably in, and eve-central.com is growing every day and has already tons of market info as we speak, things will only get better

This is how it works in game; 5% per level ships like the Thorax get 1.25*0.75 = 93.75% of their original capacitor, and the 10% bonus ships get 1.5*0.75 = 112.5% of their original capacitor. I've tested this with a Daredevil, which gets the same bonus. My research services Spreadsheets: Top speed calculation - Halo Implant stats |

It seems motherships (at least the Nyx) are not receiving the bonus for 99% reduction in CPU need for Projected Electronic Countermeasures. ----------- Support fixing the EVE UI Drones should not aggro anything missiles or turrets do not. |

Remote Repair modules are not receiving bonuses in the form of cap usage reduction from the [Race] Cruiser skill at least on the Exequror.
Caused me to way overcompensate on cap regen modules.
EFT and Quickfit both showed me not having enough cap regen to run 3 Solaces indefinitely but I could definitely do it easily. ----------- Support fixing the EVE UI Drones should not aggro anything missiles or turrets do not. |

Xaen, a corp mate of mine had the same problem. In his case it was due to a faulty import of skills.
You might want to check EFT with character selection as 'All Level 5' to see if this changes the 'Cap Lasts' calculation to realistic levels. If it does, then try deleting your character in EFT and recreate your char from scratch with the API connection, this fixed the problem for him. (But of course I am not saying it will fix the problem in your case as well).
