Isn't kind of obvious? Once they have your money they don't have to do anything else... they already have your $$$.

Same great socket closed error... CCP still refuses to answer emails about their error that they are to lazy to fix or they are just incompetent... either way my subscription is canceled... why pay for these lazy people to get rich???
The game is still unplayable!!! I want a refund, as of now I have been robbed! I paid for a service that I am not receiving!
They need to post wanted ads on www.monster.com and find professional experienced programmers who can write competent code.

this really appears to be a network problem within EU,
I sent in a petition and the reply was quite good, i used pingplotter and found a huge packet loss on a node within the tele2 network in Sweden - i ran the plotter all day and it averaged 60% pl with spikes to 100%
i was also unable to login for any decent amount of time all day.. in the end i gave up
I think a solution is to have a continental proxy with a clear line into the server that users can connect to to avoid the bad nodes
if your having problems please run ping plotter and see if your also getting packet loss and post your results so we can start to see if there is a connection to the users who get disconnected and the route to the servers that is being taken
hope this gets fixed soon!

I had since last sunday every 5 minutes a disconnect. Phoned my ISP and they changed some channels on my wireless modem. Didnt solve the problem. Still **** disconnects!!
Anyway, yesterday i phoned them again and they reset my wireless modem and upgraded the WEP to a WPA security and everything worked.
Last night i had ZERO dc's
Maybe this helps others as well.

One more disappointed EU player to the list.
Been playing for years without issue. Over the past week I've been getting socket closed 2/3 times an hour on average, sometimes many more.
Sort it out CCP. We pay more than the US guys do anyway, So we're paying more, and getting less. Sound fair to you? |

Doesn't the game cost $15 a month in EU too?
Anyway, getting the same error a couple of times a day. It's really a pain when you constantly have to log back in and warp back to whatever you were doing. |

+1 /signed.
Only started happening tonight, not an issue.. well not an issue like this for 4 years of playing.
Not on wireless, and only 1 of two accounts is dropping. Fix your Code CCP.

27k players on right now and it's happening like crazy, only one account at a time even though two are connected at the same time. Not always the same account.
Yeah there's nothing like EVE out there, but then again, perhaps it's time to just move on after all. I am canceling one of my accounts, so that's -$15/mo and frankly if the fleet lag and the socket issue isn't sorted then I will just have to walk away and cancel the remaining accounts as well.
The problem is that every time I experience fleet lag or closed sockets hours of my life are stolen from me because of the stress this is causing me and that's just not worth doing in the long run.
I couldn't care less about Incarna, fix the current game or the cash cow that EVE is right now will be lead to the slaughterhouse. |

This is the next step, should CCP not manage to make the game playable sometime very soon.

The Solution is very simple. Save your self the stress, pain and agony and just CANCEL your SUBSCRIPTION(S)! Its time to move on to a game with programmers who are competent.
Like I have said before, why would they bother to fix a problem that you continue to pay for??? Its just common sense!

You suggest we all give up. We get it. Really we do. We got it the first, second and third times you suggested it. However, many of us would rather encourage CCP to come up with a solution to this issue, which currently plagues the game we love, than follow you in your emoragequit tantrum.
Tried tunneling today, on the off chance it'd fix it. Definitely an improvement, but still getting socket closed 3-5 times an hour.

The issue is that for every user who complains on there there are 10 or 20 or 30 who experience the same issue but cba to post about it because they *know* that posting here will do *nothing*.
There has been no feedback from CCP on this, submitting a petition about it is totally useless as well. Basically the situation we are in now is that the closed sockets happen, we continue to pay, and nothing will change. Perception is reality and if CCP wants to change that perception they need to acknowledge the problem and if need be also acknowledge that they have no clue how to fix it. What that will do is let me know that they *care* whereas now it looks like they don't give a **** about it and the only way to make them feel that this is a serious issue is to cancel subscriptions.
I did cancel a second account and will cancel another when the game time runs out on August 20th. Why am I doing this? Because it's the only thing I can do on my end to fix this issue since apparently no one at CCPs end finds the time to at the very least post a reply in here saying *something*! |

Another unhappy customer reporting CCP's shortcomings on this matter.
After playing EvE for just over a couple of years, and having no connection problems - EVEN WITH MOBILE BROADBAND! (Save for some of the more intense fleet outings, which still only caused a reasonable measure of lag for me, only resulting in disconnection occasionally.) - I find it quite hard to believe that CCP is still implying this is the error of individual customers and their individual ISPs, NIGH ON TWO YEARS LATER!
So I quit... Couldn't log on... My prized ships located in my old CORP's W-hole...
Deemed dead by my CORPies, I'm quite sure my many hours of mission grinding and painstaking mining for my in-game assets has been wasted, my ships possibly used as cannon fodder for a dangerous route, (for which I wouldn't blame as they presumed I wouldn't return.) and my stance within the corporation dashed just as my many hours of playing were finally coming to fruition. Also... more to the point, a great deal of OUR Pound Sterling/Euros/Dollars, which we have all had to pour real blood and sweat into earning, have been wasted, partially due to us - the paying customer - listlessly hanging on to the dim hope of a fix being presented for this problem. Would you go out with the intentions of buying a brand new HDTV on credit only to un-package it and discover the hardware was missing and was a completely useless shell, but still had to pay back your creditors?
The most regrettable thing for me though is the loss of the bond that my fellow Corp members and I built, EvE is certainly at it's best when enjoyed with others and at the moment I feel as though there's no point even trying to re-join them as long this problem is still present.
I just wish to relax at the end of the week with a beer and a few hours on EvE, and, thankfully, my beer doesn't decide to disconnect from my hand every time I want a sip, otherwise I'd be complaining about the ergonomics of the average pint glass!
I urge you please CCP to deal with this, I have held my tongue and waited a long time now to post this, monitoring this thread for a solution and none have made good the problem.
Remember although EvE may be a creative moneymaker for you, it is also a consumer product, and should function as so, -Correctly-. All these fine people are putting your dinners on your table and gas in your tanks all we would like in return is either closure or a solution, so we can either forget EvE, or continue to enjoy what otherwise in my opinion, is an expertly crafted MMO with unrivalled artistry.
Keepin' the faith.... at least for this last month of sub....

"Connection Lost The connection to the server was closed"
Disconnected usually when jumping through a gate or docking, or using the market. This has happened multiple times a day the past week ever since I just came back after a long break from Eve. Had a GM unstuck the character by moving to another system only for the same thing to happen again later. Can't log into the game with that character again. Only getting the message above.

How many pages are there of people experiencing the same problem? How many of us have paid for a game only to find it is unplayable or that we loose out on what we have spent many hours to acquire? What does CCP have to say about all of this? What are they doing? Use your head, use common sense... they will only change and put effort into this if we continue to cancel our accounts! If the money stops rolling in they will have not choice but to find a solution to the problem!
I have said it before and I will say it again. If you get socket closed errors the game is unplayable! You should cancel your subscription as I have done!
