Hello all,
I keep getting disconnected at random times. Sometimes as little as 30 seconds from log on. Sometimes 2 hours. I have dropped down to classic EVE and ensured my Video driver is still up to date. I cleaned the cache and settings.
I am getting tired of losing my drones... I try to keep reclaiming them but the Rats on my mission have other ideas.
Any idea why? I do use a wireless router. Checked its firmware and it is up to date also.

I have had the same problem, dont know if this patch fix that problem we will see. But i serious think its a problem in the clientsoftware and not your PC, router or anything else.
Iv made pentions about this, but in return all CCP say is that the cant see anything in the logfiles. Well.. i have had this problem on 2 laptops and 1 PC running on different networks. I been running monitor tools to try and find the problem, but only thing i see is the client closing the socket for some weird reson.
Iv been playing online gaming for 6 years now, and the only game iv ever seen getting disconnected every 2nd night and more than once are EVE. I can still play my favor FPS games without any lag or connection isues.
Anyway, look forward to see the new patch, havnt had the chance yet. I do hope that 1 fix have made a change to fix this isue.

Well thanks for telling me I am not the only one having this fault. Anyone know a program that can do traceroute the entire time I am connected?

Same here, "your socket was closed". My net connection has no problems. Hope we get a fix asap. Never had this message or problem before the patch.

Same problem here. 
But it never lasted 2 hours before disconnect. It is more likely 2 minutes, every time. 
I hope CCP fix this quick.  The game is totally unplayable sadly.

Having same issue. Can stay logged in about two to twenty mins tops before getting booted.

Is there any official answer to this issue anywhere on the forums? Is CCP doing something about it? If i loose my 300 mil ship in a fleet battle cause of "your socket was closed" will CCP give it back?

Same problem, keeps disconnecting every 2 minutes and says "Socket was closed".
I don't have this problem at home (classic graphics version), but at work (premium version).

forgot to mention that it is sparatic for me. Sometimes it happens 30 seconds apart and sometimes i can game for 2 hours without a single instance :/.

Running preium here and just started about an hour ago with this disconnecting.
Rest is all running fine, but eve just gives me the message that the socket is closed.
Running two clinets at the same time as i always did with max settings...never had problems.

Same problem here. when it happens it takes down my home network internet connection and the cable modem must be power cycled. It seems to be related to the time of day. I get disconnected frequently in morning hours and seldom/never in evening hours. Yesterday I did a reinstall of the premium client and it worked with zero disconnects for the rest of the day and I thought it was fixed. This morning I got kicked after about 10 mins and had to restart the network again.

I think it has a direct coorelation with local. It seems that systems with < 100 are more stable then systems with more than 100.
People log on and off in system ? I do not know >.>.

i am having the "socket closed" issue as well. Eve is not playable for me right now, as the socket close at random times. This issue happens while docked, and also while attempting to run a mission.
Winxp, cable modem, premium edition client, not using windowed mode.

Well i wont play too much in the next few days but i guess the most i can do is keep spamming every time i disconnect with "your socket was closed" until one of CCP's guys listens to us and answers what we can do. Or at least tell us theyre looking into it.
Cause this is seriously annoying.

Same problem here. IF I succeed in connecting, I have something like 2min before I get a "socket closed". Weird enough, it was all fine for the first day post-expansion.

I usually keep ping open on TQ, and this socket closed message appears only after 3-4 request timed out messages. It's beyond annoying, it has already costed me a few kills, and it always happens at the most uncovenient moments. My last 10 minutes were spent disconnecting on 2 clients every 1-2 min, then reconnecting, and this is because i was in a fight with a bs.
CCP, fix your freaking game, and don't ask the average players for help. They log in to play, and have fun, not to beta-test your piece of **** coding.

well i got those disconnects problems but then i downloaded full client from eve website
then reinstall the game with it and....no d/c so far.....

Got a lot of closed sockets yesterday too. Today all fine till dt, since half an hour eve crashes every few minutes.
Laptop with Vista in germany. A corpmate has the same with a XP pc. |
