The carebears probably think that if there is 0.0 space separating empires, all the choke points would be camped, halting their important trade activities. However, it doesn't have to be that way. Just don't create any choke points between empires...

I don't really see the purpose of this. When a BS is equipped for mining, how is it different from a BS that is converted into a mining ship, free of charge? As long as BS can equip mining lasers, they will always remain the best mining ships.

The point of self destruct is to prevent people from getting loot, right? But there's got to be a disadvantage, something better than "I'm a noob so I didn't know, but now I do" Either put a 1 minute delay timer on it or make insurance void.

I am one of those for whom "spirit of the game" doesn't exist. heh I only see game mechanics and the object of the game is to use the rules to beat the other player, like chess. I don't think insta jumps are good, because I don't like the tactic...
