Edited by: Atsuko Ratu on 11/12/2007 23:59:32 Just to let you know, the Cerb isn't applying its flight time bonus to heavy assault missles in EFT. It even lacks the bonus in it's description:
"10% bonus to light and heavy missle flight time",
where as it should be:
"10% bonus to light heavy assault and heavy missle flight time",
Not that big of a deal really, extra bonus isn't hard to apply yourself. Just thought he should know

Is there any way to have it spit out what skills I need for a certain ship fit? This was one feature I really depended on in other apps.
Right click over a module and hit "change effecting skill". On that ship, it will show every skill that effects that specific module in some way, hopefully.
I don't think theres a way to see what skills you need to fly a fitted ship though, but you should know already if you intend to fly it , and every module will tell you its required skills.

I ran into some problems with clipboard import with EFT version 2.4.1. I only tried to import setups made with V2.4.1. EFT didn't import anything if the setup name contained commas, for example setup name:
[Sacrilege, T2 HAM, MWD, 2 x EW, Neut]
didn't import at all until I manually removed the commas. This did work:
[Sacrilege, T2 HAM - MWD - 2 x EW - Neut]
This line also caused problems:
Medium Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 400
Also import failed with floating point exception when I tried to import the same line without comma and charge definition:
Medium Capacitor Booster II
Import worked without problems if I removed this line, yet the line was originally written by EFT V2.4.1 itself.
This line didn't stop import:
Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Hellfire Rage Assault Missile
but the ammo type didn't make it to the imported version. Another comma there.
Can anyone else repeat these problems, or is the problem only in my setup? Could the regional settings of Windows have an effect? I'm using English WinXP Pro with Finnish regional settings.

I start with a Crow, Level V character, and the first thing I add is Micro Auxiliary Power Core I, which supposedly adds +10 powergrid. I start with 43.75 grid, I end up with 56.25 grid. This means it added 12.5 to my grid.
Is there a skill I'm not aware of? This looks like a 5% bonus per level type of thing, I don't know the skill that does this. Is this a bug? Is it accurate?
I have the new 2.4.1 version. -7san |

You can allways right click on MAPC and change relevant skill - try it :)

When you have your imported character, just fit the ship and select your character. The "light" next to your char will be red (since you lack the skills) and not green. Mouse over the red light and it'll list all the missing skills.

Some named MAPC add up to 12-13 grid. Could be something like that?

It does add 10 powergrid.
However your 'all level 5' character, presumably includes engineering 5, which is a 1.25x multiplier on powergrid.

Originally by: FabriceGP I'd like to go back to the "missaving" of the resistances presets. The problem happens when EFT saves the config.ini file, not when loading, as far as I tested this problem.
EFT doesn't like you 'cause you're French.
More on topic, this bug also happened to me until I changed the Windows regional settings and set the decimal separator to . (dot) instead of , (comma). Since then, I haven't had any problem with this bug.
More precisely I have observed the following behaviour : - I enter a profile, e.g. Serpentis -> 0,62,38,0 - It gets saved as 0.00, 62.00, 38.00, 0.00 (numbers) - Since my system uses the comma (,) as the decimal separator, this is actually written to the config file (I saw this in the file) : 0,00,62,00,38,00,0,00 - When EFT loads again, it reads 0, 0, 62, 0. - I get a broken damage profile. - I'm ****ed off and quit, edit config.ini, relaunch.

I noticed those, and specifically avoided them for this particular question. I didn't check to see if the same happens with them, but I vaguely remember being more impressed with them than I should have been (as with the MAPCI).
As was said before, 10 is 10 and in the case of the best named listed, 12 would be 12. What I got is 12.5... -7san |

That would explain it. Neat, if it's accurate. I figured it would just add 10 points to my already adjusted grid. :) -7san |

This seems to be closely related to the import issue I posted about a bit earlier. It seems EFT 2.4.1 may have problems with different separators in Windows regional settings.

Character Skills 101: Explanation of why this works the way it does :)
Engineering: 5% boost to total powergrid per level Engineering 5 would thus be a 25% boost to total powergrid Thus a 10 PG item becomes a 12.5 PG item (2.5 being 25% of 10) Remember: MAPC boosts BASE powergrid of the ship thus Engineering skill applies to it.

The Widow description states it can fit these things. Bug/feature ?

Absolutely incredible program! Been using it at home for awhile now and started to try to run it at work off a thumbdrive.
Is there anyway to make EFT pull it's proxy settings from the browser? Manual settings aren't working correctly at work. Or would it possible to import a char based on a downloaded xml from the My Character section?

I don't know...however if there is no official mirror...we need to work out one.
I will start keeping the file and toss it up on one of those temporary hosting sites if I have to. That way we'll still have accesses to it if eve-files goes down.

Hmm i dunno if it has been posted before or talked about in here before but, according to EFT (new version) with my skills and fitting i could run my XL T2 SB for 5m 49s so i tested and cap lasted 8m 32secs O_o.
So im not sure if eft is suposed to be 100% accurate but i just thought i would let you know.
(great tool btw love it)

Are you sure you updated everything right because this error must be fixed in 2.4.1? You can check your EFT version in main menu > Help > About. Also, the cause of old error was "Include reload time in DPS" option. Switching on\off affects error appearance in your case?
Originally by: Hugh Ruka I tried to make s Widow setup (with L5 skills default character). After fitting a jump portal generator (the covert version), there is no reduction in fitting for it overshoots into red on all.
Covert Jump Portal Generator uses only 50 cpu and 1500 pg and does not require any fitting reduction. You must be fitting a titan one.
Originally by: Dracborne Is there anyway to make EFT pull it's proxy settings from the browser? Manual settings aren't working correctly at work.
EFT should get it's proxy settings from the browser but proxy authentication is not supported so far.
Regarding wrong capacitor calculation: if EFT reports that you can run longer than you actually can make sure that you have no nosferatus active because they are also accounted in cap balance. Also you should check your capacitor capacity and cap recharge time from EFT to much numbers ingame as well as compare activation costs and cycle duration times of all cap-consuming modules - that way you can pinpoint the source of the problem. --- There is no Amarr problem. |
