You not gonna close down the in-game trade chans too? They got isk sellers spamming the crap out of them. Frankly after petitioning houndreds of them I haven't seen any decrease or effort on CCP's side to clean up the mess these chans is.
Removing the forum trade chans must be a gift to ISK sellers.
As many mentioned, the ingame contract system is lacking big time. Any improvements coming soon?
For a game that advocate comunity building, well trading is a great part of the EVE comunity. When you can't seem to fix what need to be fixed why make it even harder? Geeze.

Time to move trading to SHC.
I mean hell, the Contract system is rigid and does not support the sort of vast feature set to completely replace the Sell Forum. The sell forum allowed me to do pricechecks with ease that the contract system does not.

Uh... as someone who does heavily contract trading and almost no forum trading I can say its a horrible idea to close the trade forums. There is much for what the trade forums are simply better. Supercaps, officer items, t2 bpos...I would never sell those over contracts (and you cannot either in the case of supercaps).
The trade chat ingame is no solution for that, since it is heavy spammed by isk sellers (limiting chat access for trials would greatly improve that though) and you reach only a very small amount of people compared to the trade forums.

In case the contract system would be so wonderfull like stated nobody would use sellorders forum etc. But guess what there are good uses for it and to close that without any valid reason is ridiculous and only trying to hassle players for no reason.

Are you looking for ways to upset the community? You think your contract system is user friendly enough to replace? Then why cant I see when an auction ends? Why isn't there a reserve? Where's the sniper rule? And how are you supposed to play at work dammit?! You gonna make an web interface?

And a workaround will be to add your advertising as a sig and spam all the other channels with inane babble to get visibility.

If you guys could fix the ingame contract system you might be able to pull some traffic away from the sell orders forum.
Maybe you should fix the contracts system, then ask us nicely if we can move our trades over to the ingame contract system. As time goes on you respond to suggestions and improve the ingame contracts system so much that the sell orders forum is hardly used. THAT should be your course of action.
What is your next move?
Delete Jita, and lockdown all new buy and sell orders in that system and then delete it in 2 weeks?

Wouldn't it be better to shut down the forums to make way for an ebayesque web based contracts feature?
A lot of people here have made valid comments about the usefulness of the current forum, and there are certainly some commonly used features of the forum that are not replicated in game, such as the sniper system.
Does that mean these features will eventually be mirrored in game?
I for one would like to see a web based contracts browsing system, I think that would increase the use of the contracts system, and improve the market.
Also, what about Supercapitals? It is not possible to sell these through the market, or, contract as far as I am aware, so, does this mean there will be the ability to put yourself up as a 3rd party escrow? I can see the scammers in jita having a field day with that one.
To keep it mild and constructive, this does not seem like one of the best thought through ideas so far, and I think you should reconsider the current timescales for this until there are suitable methods in place.
