has anyone thought of using the trade channels in game more often and providing top notch services that dont need to be spammed to be used because not only are they needed but people spread word about it cause of the quality and cost?

Let me know how that works out for you. Try entering a "trade zone" of any other MMO and you'll have an idea how to do it.

This is the most dull decision i ever saw from CCP. The problems for major industrial corps outweights the insignificant benefits for the web. You really want the old spamorgie we had once in the old single tradechannel with macros, bumping and yelling. Common get real, we dont need more lag having the tradechannels open for monitoring sales in them. We got better things to do.
You cannot sell capitals which cannot dock in contacts. The only way then is spamming the tradechannels with macros eating up serverperformance. You really want that ?

that idea is on the same level as getting rid of the trade forums.

two main responses to this one, coming right up..
First: OOG/IG "services" + other items not covered by the contracts
I was recently involved in the purchase of a popular ingame browser game for ISK, negotiated via the sell orders forum. How would this have happened without the forum? How else are services such as TS and KB hosting for isk meant to be advertised? Are these essentials to be binned unceremoniously? What about hauling services?
Then, what about the ingame aspects? There are several items that CANNOT be sold through the contracts or market systems. Foremost among these are supercapitals. You provide us with the tools to build more of these (freighter/pos interaction, sov 4) and then remove the ONLY tool to advertise their sale? Yay for contradictions..
And onto point number 2: Economics? Lol.
So, you make a song and dance of wanting to respect the player economy and help it along, then remove the ONLY advertising feature it has. Passing trade is essential to any trader's life. I will regularly go into the sell orders/auctions forum to check for bargains. Will i do that for contracts? no. Because contracts is flooded with high-volume orders that it takes far too long to filter through.

It will be nearly impossible to verify that the person making the post is infact that character in game. Neither the API key nor the IGB can verify identity. There is a work-around but it is borderline on impractical.

My faith in CCP has now died a little bit more. The trading forums are a vibrant part of the trading aspects of the game even with the contracts and their contant pathetic attempts at scams. The game community is speaking Devs, open your eyes and your ears.

Im sorry CCP, i ususally support your decisions, but this is badly thought out and down-right badly done.
First of all you suggest that we take a very scam vulnerable area of the game and tell players to take it away from your offical systems onto a third-party website, no offence Chribba your a great guy n all, but no third party moderation system is going to be up to the same standard as the offical boards - not the mention here is more secure (You need a paid or trial eve account to post, a little discuraging knowing you post can be traced a bit easier).
But to be perfectly honest, look at this topic?
What 20 pages (so far) of what basically contributes to bad vibes about your choice, dont you think you did something wrong?

I don't even know why I'm paying money for this kind of service anymore. The servers are constantly having problems, there's lack of support/information given to customers, and basically CCP can do anything they want, including taking away an important element from the game that they created as a SOLUTION to a problem with the contract system which still (obviously) has not been solved.
I'm sorry CCP, I will not live in a dictatorship. There are plenty of other companies out there that want my money and you know what? They can have it. If you really do go through with such a stupid decision with total disregard to your customers then I'm cancelling my account and I hope others join me.
That's how we, the people, will hurt you. We can complain and whine as much as we want on the forums, even if you don't listen, you'll be feeling it in your wallet. You need us as much as we need you.
SOMEONE START A PETITION TO STOP THIS OR IF YOU DO CARE AND THEY GO THROUGH WITH IT THEN JOIN ME AND CANCEL YOUR ACCOUNT UNTIL CCP GETS THEIR ACT TOGETHER.
I will not let a game I have invested so much time and money in turn to complete ****.
