It is like shutting down all the google, yahoo stock pages and the only way to look at stock prices is through some tool that takes a couple of minutes just to load up. The millions of average folks who buy stock would stop, and I think you'll see the same hit on the Eve market, upsetting the economy.

The advantage of the forums is that many newer players don't look there.... Alternatively, you might think I'm being harsh and instead think that the sell forums are used by players that make isk from selling something that is not really making them 'play' the game (eg, web-hosting services, animation of character, signatures blah blah blah).

The contract system cannot cope with the needs of buyers and sellers. The contract system cannot be accessed out-of game. The contract system does not have a searchable history. The contract system does not allow negotiation. We'll just go elsewhere, but the market will lose out due to the drop in casual surfing for purchases. Please reconsider. I'm normally rational and polite but this is a really bad idea.

Maybe no one is willing to volunteer anymore, or the quality of said volunteers has slipped? If I ran a 3rd party EVE site that performed one or more of the functions CCP should be providing to it's subscribers, I would close it down and direct people right back to these forums for help. The stupid CCG got it's own separate site, when it should have received the axe. How wonderful our subscriptions were used to create this nonsense and now are being used to further its advancement. But for me, it's no problem with removing the trade forum, since i'm only buying normal stuffs from market. And if i need normal stuffs from the contract system, then i will find what i need anyways.

The contract system cannot fill all the gaps the forums do in the trading system. These forums are a absolute must for eve and any mmo for that matter, perhaps my memory fails me but is there any mmo that does not have some sort of trade forum?
