Take a look & download : Link to the WebSite
QuickFit is a ship fitter for the game Eve-Online. It is written in Java and is then multi-platform for every systems that can run Java (linux, Mac...).
It enables pilots to design a fit without having to buy the ship, equipments or without even having train skills. Very handy and helping for everyone concerned by this very tactical aspect of the game.
You can start doing a fit very quickly, as soon as you have launched the application. That's why it is called QuickFit afterall ;)
Pick a ship, equip it, look at the modified stats, look your damage output, your E.W. efficiency and simulate your CAP to know if all modules can run forever !
Just take a look at the feature list & screenshots, then download and enjoy this free application. You'll see it is way more than a simple fitter
I try to advertise for this tool to share it with a maximum of people. You will be able to follow tool's evolution on the following link : Eve-Online Forum's topic
Have Fun !

Awesome job. Finally a tool in Java, that runs under my Linux as well.
Now if you also make the sourcecode available that would rock. :D
Found a small bug: if i increase the speed of the Capacitor Simulation, the "Current CAP consumption : 0.93 / sec" gets divided by the speed of the simulation, but the "Current CAP regeneration : 46.1 / sec" does not.
A suggestion: maybe you can calculate if the current setup can run forever and show this somewhere.
Anyway...awesome job!

What an excellent tool!
You should probably mention somewhere about having to make a ship active to fit it but otherwise very good. -- (Battle hardened miner)

Rahzelk, i reckon you might want to speak with elFarto... together you two could likely allow this program to read ship/modules data straight from the cache files rather than pre-generated data... which would reduce the size of downloads significantly, and would allow people to experiment with setups of all these new ships that are in the making... -.^

That's awesome mate.
Quick bug report... the cap simulation thing... when you accelerate it, the cap regen / sec is in relation to simulated seconds, but the cap drain / sec is listed in reference to real seconds, so when you speed it up, your cap drain goes down.
Example, if you have 50 cap / sec usage, and are at a point in cap where you regen 50 cap / sec, it'll say you have 50 drain and 50 recharge. But if you click accelerate time, and it changes to 2x speed, then it'll say you have 25 drain and 50 recharge.

Nice but the lack of faction ships/mods makes it less usefull.

I dont know about faction ships, but it does have faction and officer mods. You have to use the search tab on the equipping screen.

Faction ship were OK in the 0.95 version, but I missed it in the last 0.98 version. They will be back in the next release.
Thanx for all your support mates !

Tried to replicate my deimos setup, and for some reason the damage from the guns is way off. I know I got a 10+ damage mod on my ion IIs and it only shows like 8. Edited by: Alex Kynes on 07/12/2005 08:52:05 Bug report: Two damage mods don't stack. I.e. if you fit two magnetic field stabilizers the second one doesn't give a bonus. Fitting the third one fixes this.

Thats a great idea, but some people (like me) would most likely use ths while at work, and won't have Eve installed.

I actually have a method for dumping the entire database to a single compressed file, for easy transportation :)

small bug: heavy drones operation increases damage of med drones in quickfit, but the skill only works on heavy drones despite the description (hence the new damage skill for scout drones with RMR).
