2 memorable things one good one bad
1st was killing Shamis' Machariel in Q-GQHN while in KOS 2nd was losing my first dread which was corp owned just 6 hours after getting it without it being used while moving it to 0.0 i nearly cried and certainly felt very sick afterwards. Also was the only time i ever contemplated quitting just because i did not know how i was going to face others in the corp and i feel that says alot about how important people are to eve. |

Most memorable thing during this past years?
The fact that I am STILL playing after 4 years!
Close second is ofc getting thrown into GNW and that first fight in P-FSQE that kick started the whole thing will live in my memory forever as the thing made me come to terms with the fact that I most likely will be here until the universe implodes!
Here's to another 4 then - CHEERS!

I would have to say my most memorable moment was two days after returning a full year after I played a 14 day trial.
Gaijin says "Hey guys, lets go roaming. Everyone fly a frigate!"
So we all undock and here comes Gaijin in an interceptor and off we go.
3 Rifters and a Crow, out galavanting around, I hadn't even npc'd yet ^^ We find a caracal ratting and we killed it! I was shaking so bad the whole time I wasn't even sure I was actually doing anything.
Couple minutes later we are being chased and Gaijin gets us stuck in a dead end system. No gate BMs for this area. Needless to say Gaijin was the only guy to survive the journey, and I never flew a frigate in his gangs again :P

Thank you for game that was what it promised "Multiplayer Brabens Elite", I read about it in a aeroplane coming from business trim from Ulm and as old hardcore Elite player I signed in that evening to Republic Military School - 2003.09.12 22:42:00.
My most vivid memoirs are amazing fights against odds as pilot of Mass, serving under thebold, his machinegun fast orders which only few of us good anticipate. Killing 3 times big fleets flying beside pilots like Random and Dalman.
One memory that I still charish is the sight of seeing the SA fleets gather up in hundreds to say farewell to Rampage who had just died in real life. I think it was light darkness who led that raven wing which created symmetrical perls of cruises through the bloody sky of Stains.
Of the late memoirs I mostly recollect the hatred against the game when I heard there was approximate 700 player limit to a system suddenly invented when coalition was attacking cap ship yard in bobbit land. I found myself lagging in previous system, and knewing the crushing number of cap ships knew bout the decisive victory to come and then hearing them entering to lag fest in serial, those hundreds of cap ships and nobody not calling it by the eve expertise and the numbers from ccp. It was first time I felt true anger about this game, and asked why it wasnt called on paper if the server couldnt resolve it right.
Still even the years of best MMORPG pvp from 2003-2004 have changed into years of ISK and now gotten the form of age of Titans. The game is still worth celebrating.
"And thus to bring open honest opinion as a dedicated player I had to let it flow"

Well I'm playing EVE for year and half now and tbh my most memorable event was the first time I logged in and when I undocked...all that bautiful planets, moons, stations, sun in background....my jaws was like
Beside that, in times when I made my first step into 0.0 and became member of ASCN, whole alliance participate in big event against Sansha's (I think it was Sansha) in TR0-7 system.... due the fact that I was in 0.0 for only 15 or 30 days, it was something I will never forget. Fight lasted for 2 or 3 hours (CYVOK correct me if I'm wrong about time frame) and I found myself in the middle of explosions, big ships, rockets, missiles, lasers beams....it was like a boy's dream come true!
Cheers CCP and I raise this glass for another 44 (fourty four) years of this beautiful game
P.S. Can I sue you guys in CCP if I get divorce because of EVE-online? ----- There's no lag in EVE!! |

My most memorable event is when I was reselling Arbalest cruise launchers after the missile nerf patch (when cruise missiles became "in" again).
I accidentally sold them all for a couple million each as I dropped the zero.
I found the person who bought them, and got most of the cash back.
We became friends, and made billions off capital components.
He now runs EMFI and AATP, and I run his sales corporation

Happy Birthday EVE! Been an amazing ride so far.
IŠm probably going to get killed for telling this story. CanŠt remember precicely when this was, less than a year into the game.
So we had this big alliance war against corp X (some of you are probably going to figure out who, they managed to declare war on around 12 corps at the same time (and this was before alliances became available btw)) and these guys used every dirty trick in the book (and quite a few not in it aswell) to play the game and we higly suspected that one of them was to dupe stuff.
So one day in a system near Jita a hauler from corp X got shot down by someone and we hear it all over the alliance channel that the container that the hauler dropped was full of megacyte (The guy who shot the hauler didŠnt have any cargo to pick up the loot). So a good friend of mine in my corp realises that he has an alt in the next system that has a rifter fitted. So he logs out, and into the alt and gets moving as quickly as he can to the system where the hauler got shot. HeŠs the first guy to the can, opens it and sees infront of him around 400k units of Megacyte (Now this is still very early in the game so this can was probably close to beeing the most valuable thing in the the whole EVE universe). Then he notices that thereŠs a lot of people appearing in local, and he can see some haulers on the horizon approaching fast.
Suddenly he realises that the cargo on his rifter is rather limited and he makes a quick conclusion that, "Hey! If I canŠt take it, why should I let anyone else?". So he targets the can and pops it, then flyes back to the station, and instantly deletes the character (back when that was possible) to remove all connections with his main.
It was only then that he realised that he could have atleast filled his cargo with some of the Meg before he popped the can, and this was back in the days when money was money.
Anyways, he was shaking and so high on adrenalin for a week afterwards that it was almost impossible to understand a word he said on TS.
Shortly afterwards corp X got banned for duping stuff, so he pretty much did the right thing and removed ill gotten items from the game.

My most memorable event was creating a huge fuss on the forums about Tractor Beam BPOs, and then when patch came sold R.A.M. BPOs for billions . What a great patch
My worst memory was Easter 2005 when the servers went down for nearly 3 days.

The moment i will never forget was when i got my first kill. At the time, we were just another industrial corp who had a war against a pirate corp. We took down a cruiser in just an inty and a destroyer. When the fight was over, my hands were shaking so bad, that i was forced to turn off "push to talk" on ts because i couldnt control the mouse anymore..
Ever since, the best thing that happened to me was the acceptance into Aurora. Being part of the family enhanced my EVE experience with 100% at least.

The first time i played eve was short after it was launched, each and everyone in my Alliance in Planetarion (First Browser Game i really noticed and played for years) was trying it out.
Sadly i wasn't really so excited by it as of another released game at that time - Neocron. Now, if i take a look back at the games i played while Eve was evolving (neocron, Plantside, StarwarsGalaxys (Dark Jedi Night ftw)) i can only say, when SWG got trashed and i stumbled upon a nice web ad for a game i had heared something about before, and playing a tutorial for like 6 hours i was really excited. Yes your right, it was EVE-online (again), and to be honest, i didn't even remember in my mind at that time that O didn't even like it before.
The events that keep popping up in my mind again and again are beeing new in EVE for like a week, beeing urged by my corp to skill badger Mark II, and moving up to LS-Jep to help em haul crokite, beeing subcontracted and having Crokite worth 6.4 million of witch 10% where mine, jumping it like 4 Jumps to teh station, was the funniest thing ever with all of that hostiles trying to rip me apart.
The other thing was sitting in isikesu, just having bought the raven i could barely fly to do Level 3 missions, having a mission at the gate, and then some punks came to try to steal my loot, oh boy did those ibis, kestrel and caracal die under the fire of my Heavy missles.
Happy Birthday eve, and with the words of my grandfather: May you live as much more years, as the fox has hairs on his tale.

Having played the game since Beta, taking a year off, then coming back in Christmas of 2005, I really only have one memorable event from the game.
Flying with Shinra in Lotka Volterra for many months allowed me to play a direct role in all forms of combat small and large. The defining moment was the defense of JV1V Ganymede station in Tenerifis. It was defining, because it reminded me of the limits virtual worlds can not surpass, and how truly a waste of time investing in such large projects is for those who want to play, vs. those like Red Alliance who work the game to sell isk for real cash.
Skipping the story of lag, blob, node-crash, CCP intervention to the negative, etc. One thing remains from that and subsequent experiences. I understand the human nature behind developers playing the game, while wrongly helping their chosen side through cheating and abusing dev tools; what I will never understand is why CCP didn't make things right.
Server side glitches that caused an entire system (77S) to not show sovereignty for the towers that were anchored and on line. CCP knew that the problem was on their side, but when asked to fix it, three days passed with no resolution, and finally they refused, requiring our alliance to actually have to fight to take back a station we had never lost in the first place. I can just see the headlines, "CCP Takes Station!" They handed an entire player run station over to another alliance because of their error.
CCP's failure to make things right and restore the station to it's proper sovereignty will always be remembered as the worst thing in Eve I ever experienced. It was inept and incompetent to let it happen in the first place, and under-handed not to fix it and make it right.
Eve-online is probably the best MMOG out there, yet it still has virtual world limits; it's made by humans, controlled by humans, and all the vice and virtue that comes with us is represented in the game. Truly a great human effort.
Regards,
