No. You are trying to apply real world practices to internet community. They can't be applied in the way you want, unfortunately for you. You're guilty just because you are logged in and posting here, you don't understand? I can't hold your hand and look into your eyes to make sure you are not lying = you lying. That's enough for me. If you're not lying, if they are not guilty, why you so forcefully defending them? Also, i'm not making accusations, i'm stating the obvious. What person in the subject does is impossible for normal character. Either these killmails are all fake, or he using mechanics unavailable for normal character. Knowing that 9 out of 10 killboards using API for retrieving kills, and knowing that your one highly likely included in these 9 I'm forced to believe these are not fake. Therefore, the latter is in play. Anyone who have simple calculator and 4 classes of elementary school will tell you the same. If you can prove that my simple math is wrong, go ahead. Power your fraps, get one of the mentioned ships and demonstrate us, how's it all possible. -- Thanks CCP for cu |

perhaps they just have them added to their address books on alts, with mains logged off in a belt, and when a macrobot logs in (after logging off at a belt - they know what belt they logged off at because of the wrecks left) they log in, autowarp to the same belt...and the macrobot dies :((((

bcos it's easy to say that all russians use macros than think a bit ((( this situation will not change while number of non-russian players will be killed in same way.

Actually they say they aren't using any cheats, it's the victims that are claiming the hack but refusing to provide any evidence.

Interesting that despite this lack of evidence and the fact that even you suspect they're probably macros ( and therefore also not at their computers when the attacks occur ), you still seem pretty convinced by them.
I'm just saying that you're conclusions don't seem very logical and are probably coloured by your pathological fear of people that shoot other people. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- you seem determined to turn it into ******* Hollyoaks for neckbeards. |

Originally by: SuperTight5 First of all, I play more than 5 years and know the rules, especially concerning ratting in 0.0
I was ratting in belt in dead-end system with empty local, my scout was in nearby system at the gate. Suddenly, three negatives from Pandemic Legion appeared in local (wormhole?) and within 2 seconds I hit warp to safe spot. But in the next second 2 ships appeared near me (not warped in, just appeared!) and I got scrambled and popped.
So, how is this possible, to lock a ship at random belt within 3 seconds after entering local? Even login trap would take much more time.
Is it exploit, or it is possible with legitimate tactic?
3 appearing in local 2 beside u sounds like the other one u didnt se was a covert cyno and u got popped by cov ops ships was them in a pilgrim, falcon, arazu or rapier, stealth bomber, t3 ship by any chance? SIG: if my message has spelling errors its cos i fail at typing properly :P |

ITT, irony, karma & poetic justice.
I agree that CCP must end this madness. I vote that we kill local chat in 0.0 so that we can all be Monkeyspheres \o/.
Local chat should not be a source of intel, much less one that can be used for bot automation like warp & cloak or logoffski - which the botters actually admit to in this thread.
0.0 immunity = wrong. I just wish it didn't take Monkeysphere's crazy ingenuity, skills & efforts to pull it off ; what he does should be the standard rule in 0.0.

Yea! It will be nice decision! And game will be more realistic. But we need to have this feature for all players - so pilots will know they MUST use scanner always (they don't use it now if nobody is in local chat)... My vote for removing local chat outside empire space!

Would be awesome. I'll fly down to Delve and with a gang of 20 bombers we'll sit on the jump bridges, station undocks and gates to gank everything that comes through... not even a scout would know we're there
I'm all for removing local but if you do that everyone will fly cloaky and unprobable ships.... it'd be too good of an advantage to pass up.

If he's somehow masking his presence from local through some "ingenuous" and "skillful" technique then that is all gravy, and good for him.
But if he's indeed using an exploit, to somehow justify it because you have a certain opinion on how local should be, is just dead wrong. If you don't like how local chat is now, then petition to have it changed. Don't justify the use of an exploit because you don't like how the game devs have set up local.

If this is just player initiative - it's great.
If it's CCP CIA style covertly supported player initiative - it's great.
Macros and RMT suck - I've long been a believer that the Eve player base are the best people to deal with the macro contingent, I hope CCP realise this too and are helping to provide players with the tools to screw these people over.
I've met plenty of Russians and they are lovely people, brave, kind hearted, very funny and clever. Clever enough to work out that running macros 24hrs a day makes more sense than toiling on a building site or driving a train. If this was profitable for UK and US players then I'm sure you'd see the same. But the fact is that it kills the game so power to monkeyshere and his friends for trying to wipe to out.

Now this topic was actualy coverd in effect by my parents when i beat a school bully for bullying a smaller kid.
TWO WRONGS DON'T MAKE A RIGHT
CCP in general encorage dishonesty and possibly are probably somewhat loath to act or even acknowledge this as they currently have no counter to it. Why don't apear to have a client mirroring service which would be a simple and effective way of policing ALL explois/hax/macros out of the game Occasionaly players can inspire action (remember when some ccp devs were openly were cheating and the outrage it caused) but action was taken all be it after a long time

One must ask themselves:
What seems to be more likely, that among all the seasoned players and botter nobody apart from monkey have found the right strategy to SupriseButtSX botter and ratter. Or that maybe he does have an advantage that nobody else has.

it's not like it's pure chance, they enter local, bot logs off but bot is in their alts address book, they scour the belts, find where the bot got to (only some npc killed or an npc with partial damage) and they also log off there, then when bot logs back in PL log back in at the same time, they all warp to belt and the bot dies.
i'm just guessing, i'm a highsec noob so i don't have much wisdom :((((

Until you have proof that Monkey's actions are anything but careful preparation, skills and ingenuity, please refrain for crying haxsploit. On the contrary, so far in this thread the only admittance of wrongdoing comes from macroers who freely admit to using botting software.
Which leads me, ironically, to the god-mode you speak of. 0.0 was never meant to be risk-free, and bots scanning local chat for unwanted presence, and subsequently automating warp & cloak or logoff, ARE in fact god-mode.
But this phenomena isn't limited to bots. Players relying on local chat to warp & cloak or logoff at the first sign of an unfamiliar or hostile face in local are in fact evading the risk inherent to 0.0, and that should not be happening.
Hence, local must go. And until then, I am thankful for Monkey's action as some sort of masked bringer of awesum justice to deal with the evil risk-free leeches of 0.0. Yeah, Monkey = Batman.

LOL. What kind of proofs do you expect? Only some good quality fraps could help, if anybody would record it. As many people tell here: this man can be invisible in the local chat, can warp to a ship in the space without scanning him even if the ship is cloacked. Do you think, all those men are liers?

So you really expect us to believe that after of years of god-mode (to use your own words), monkey suddenly is the only one to have developed a "strategy" to catch them all regardless of them paying attention to local or having an automated local-checking system? I had less difficulty digesting the BS excuse for invading errr liberating Iraq. The fact that python can be exploited in various ways and that CCP doesn't have a code-injection detection system in place results in a rather unsuprising "our logs don't show...". Yet, it does still seem quite odd that one player is able to acchieve results unlike any other in EVE when it comes down to ratters and botters.
To be fair I have admit that there is lack of proof of any kind on both the accusing and defendant sides, but there are plenty of clues from the accusing side pointing to the exploit theory which is alot more than you can account for.
