Originally by: Onashinnen The whole Trinity patch was astounding. Anyone who says otherwise is artisticly illiterate.
Except the people who didn't benefit from the eye candy patch and thus felt it was a huge resource drain that only caused problems and didn't give new content that they could access (such game mechanic overhauls). So when you take the pretty stuff away Trinity was much more ho-hum and left a lot of people thinking 'great, now I'll have to wait till the NEXT major version before anything interesting happens'.
Not saying trinity was a bad move, just pointing out that there are reasonable detractors that have reasons other then being artisicly illerate ^_~

Hi,
1. Overview windows (all) fail to stay in place when pinned. Everytime you dock/undock, form a fleet etc it goes wrong.
2. Linked to above the selected object box completely disappears!
3. When alt-tabbing to a second client Eve crashes.
Did you actually do any testing or just go down the pub!?

Originally by: Bannie Bajannie I haven't logged in yet, but I'm most irked by the blurb about 'not a single 'nerf''. How was the resistance reduction not a nerf?
Yeah, that's relevant. 20% damage reduction over two types, while saying that it's a no-nerf patch?
Sure, you're buffing EM and Explosive versus players, but it does jack for mission runners. If CCP lowered resistance on rats too, it would be a buff, but I'm betting that rat resistance is unchanged. :P

After the patch I had no problems with bookmarks and overview settings.
But I had the same problem others have mentioned regarding SP number when compared with EveMon. I noticed , after pausing and restarting the currently training skill, that the SP number was updated to match the SP number as shown by EveMon. So, no lost SP for me!
But there are some annoying issues like:
- not closing the cargo window when clicked on cargo button
But I hope CCP will fix these issues asap.
There were some good things after this patch and gratz for that. Let's keep up a good spirit and not bring up issues like professional skills. We all do mistakes and wouldn't like others to be harsh on us when this happens. I'm sure CCP is working around the clock to improve the game, to remove bugs and to please as many as they can ... and again to improve and to remove bugs ... and so on. Let's not pass judgements!
That's my humble opinon, if you don't like it, well .. then judge me too!!! ----- BK |

No nerfs in this patch was widely touted by CCP. The reduction of resistances is not a nerf?
Come on CCP, you can't just reduce ship resistances and expect us to not count it as a nerf.
And no BS about it being balance, not a nerf. When the resistances on our ships go down, we have been nerfed.

Nice patch. Everything works great for me and the new overview is looking good. The only issue i have is that the overview is a bit confusing to set up properly. Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed filesize of 24000 bytes -Kreul Intentions ([email protected]) |

Given that Minmatar ships are designed around projectile weapons and missiles, two systems which can change damage types on the fly to suit the target, I'd say the Minmatar benefit most from any sort of resistance nerf. Throw drones into the mix, and you're the best race, loaded with omni-damage platforms.

All,
I must say I'm really disappointed by this patch's QA failures. I like allot of the patch changes and dislike other changes, but the lack of rigor in your test cases needs to be addressed. Here are a few workarounds for the more boneheaded mistakes that QA did not catch:
1) I'm using /END /LUA:off and have multiple clients. I've lost my settings and display options fix: backup files from $everoot\settings copy files from $everoot\cache\settings to $everoot\settings now audit the new settings like disabling the absurd welcome screen etc.
NB: I suspect lost browser bookmarks takes a similar fix, but I run with /end /LUA:OFF on vista x64 and have not encountered this issue.
2a) I was using window mode to run more than one client at a time now it's full screen but I get a black screen and cant set any options since I cant see them. I'm getting a "refresh rate not supported" or "video mode not supported" from my monitor. fix: hit alt-enter to switch to window mode. adjust settings as desired 2b) I am running one client but getting the above error. fix: hit alt-enter to switch to windows mode. Adjust screen resolution to your desktop resolution. now go back to full screen mode.
I would like to see the following items from CCP in the next patch:
1) List of files to be changed. 2) List of files to be moved and their new location 3) A routine that checks for files that did not get moved and fixes them. Alternatively, parse the old files and migrate them to the new location. The goal here is to assume you'll never be able to test the new settings are moved so have a fall through that does not involve resetting the client overview to the defaults! 4) probe the monitor resolution based on the registry or the driver. don't permit display resolutions whose refresh rate is outside the stated boundaries but permit an advanced option. Alternatively, when in full screen mode, if the EULA is not "accepted" in a minute or two, switch to windowed mode! A second alternative is to always start in windowed mode if a user setting is not present but the game is post patch.
Also, I want to see CCP start collecting some data on thier clients since It's become clear you do not have a usefull grasp on where or how your clients are installed:
1) installation path 2) startup options 3) resolutions, depth, refresh etc used 4) audio settings 5) eve voice settings 6) window vs full screen mode 7) Free memory on game launch, Free memory during game run as a running average and high/low water marks 8) number of clients run simultaneously.
you need to start discussing the statistics on this at your project and dev meetings. The QA team should be partially driven by these stats and have test cases to reflect at least 95% of the active player base and any outside cases.
Lastly, you need to start tracking what people complain about and discuss the statistically significant complaints and their relative merits.
All of this is Software QA 101 but I'm beginning to feel you need an outside eye or two that is divorced from your internal politics to start seeing how and why significant qa failures are occurring!
As respectfully as I'm capable of,
Elseer Radak

Edit: Nm, it seems to only be for characters with moderator edited sigs; might want to make that clearer though. __________________

This. The patch breaks EVE for me. I can't tab between clients without eve locking up. Roll it back.

As of the patch, the hotkey which was previously labeled "Toggle Cargo Bay Of Active Ship" has become "Open Cargo Bay Of Active Ship". So, while I can use a key to open the bay, I now have to use the mouse and click it back closed.
There is no possible reason for this change.
This is an unacceptable change.
This change needs to be restored to its old functionality immediately.

The cargo button in the HUD used to both open AND CLOSE the cargo window. With he patch the close function is missing.
A minor problem, but a quick function that I find useful to keep the screen uncluttered.

Yup, same issue here :(
I tried to do a lvl 4 (Mordus Headhunters) and my FPS reached an all time low of 4! four fPS!
I know I'm not running anything near top end, but I've never had client lags, this was in a system with 10people in local.

Before patch I was at 45-25 FPS, now after patch with the same game settings I'm getting HUGE spikes in FPS when in station anyhwhere between 55 and 10. Depending on angle and lighting. When doing the mission I had 25 FPS at jump in gate, 20 FPS at first pocket and 4! FPS at the last (some 30 ships there i guess).
Hope this issue gets sorted, because the game is unplayable for me!

with the patch my FPS went down to nearly the level of "unplayable", I'm using the classic client since my computer is nowhere near powerfull enough for the premium client. Pre-patch I had around 25-35 fps in open space, post patch my fps is constantly around 10-15 in space.

Why, when fixing the item volumes on medium guns specifically did it go to 25m3? all named/t2 versions of the same caliber are 10m3. Also, both t1 medium artillery calibers are 25m3 where only the highest was 25 for the other gun types, as well as all medium autocannons being 10m3. At this point it's just inconsistent. Why not have all medium guns(or modules in general) just be 10m3 and leave it at that?

Originally by: Nyabinghi Ok I hope this is finally the right thread cause I've been bounced twice now. Here is my report so far:
1) Ship appears and disappears in hanger.
2) 1st undock attempt I saw only the station undock tunnel and not my ship (though my ship was in space already). fixed when I "looked" at station then "unlooked".
3) Flying away from station, camera locked to a single view and would not rotate or zoom in/out on ship. I could fly back to station but the camera showed me still flying away from station. Essentially screen image frooze.
bump same issues, also can not approach bookmarks

I'm glad that the ship models are now fixed when "Show station environment" is turned off - but now the choral music plays, which was the only reason I turned station environment off in the first place.
Please give us a way of turning off this intensely annoying music loop. It makes me want to go out and torture small fluffy animals, and we really don't want that now do we?
