I think ccp has gotten on my last nerve with this last patch. After something like 4 years of play I've cancelled my account. And my second account will likely soon follow. I used to be a game developer, so I'm used to patches taking longer than expected. But the QA on that last patch was almost non-existent. Or you chose to ignore your QA and rush it out anyway. My fps is trashed and I can no longer use the premium graphics on either of my accounts. I had to manually track down and restore my settings files - again! And if I had to guess, I'd say that when you reorganized all that stuff in the Escape menus you broke much of it. I know the station environments are loading even when unchecked and pulling down my frame rate (when I played with the checkbox to verify I had to relog to get it to unload.) Has my LOD secretly been toggled off too? Maybe I'm now at highest graphics settings despite what my graphics tab says?
There's a new slew of interface bugs to add to an already laggy, pathetic mess. And now that I think on it, here's some of the issues I've been waiting YEARS(!) for them to fix:
When did it become status quo to accept no visual feedback on a ship direction change? So now I have to double click 3 times to make sure one took. Did the first one get eaten by my chat window because it previously had the focus? Or maybe the 2nd one was eaten by my ship because I clicked too close to it and it's just not smart enough to fly straight away from the camera. Or maybe lag got one or all of them? How am I to know with no visual feedback. Make the cursor blink or don't, but do something! It doesn't get anymore basic than moving your ship in space, and frankly your interface is still pure crap at it, and you've had YEARS to fix this.
I'm sick and tired of not being able to see if my weapons buttons are lit or not because some background artist thinks every system should be a nebula so bright I feel like I'm always staring directly into the sun! I spend way too much time swiveling the camera away from battle towards the darkest part of space.
And why the laggy frame rate? It's true I usually keep the game at max screen resolution to make more room for all my windows. But let face it, when it comes to the 3D rendering, for all the beauty of the premium graphics I really only see it on my own ship. I'm mostly a Caldari missile user, so most ships I fight are 30+ km off. Really, they're just brackets at that point. So shouldn't your graphics LOD be clipping out all that other ship rendering? How about a fleet command mode that makes all visible ships into simple 2d brackets? Wouldn't that make blob warfare at least playable for those with lesser computers?
And don't even get me started on the map. The "I'm sorry, I know you had me open just 2 secs ago, but I still need 5 to 10 secs to load, get all new data from the server, because you know that at any moment that star system's sec status might just have changed (*heavy sarcasm*), and oh I've also forgotten the view location, rotation, and zoom you previously had." map. And the "oh look how much useless info I can spam at your floating cursor" features. But when you stop and actually try to get detailed info on a station in a given system you have to wait another 20 SECONDS before that info will show up. And when it does its going to be in a popup balloon that will inevitably be underneath one of your chat windows. Pure crap!
Oh another good one: Placing market orders from space. There's no error. No "you can't do that here" message. No sfx. It just throws the info away, and later your left scratching your head trying to figure out where your order is.
And ships going into and coming out of warp sideways? How lame is that? I can guess that at warp-in time, a directional vector might not have been replicated to my cliet yet, but can't you at least have the client make a good starting guess? Pretty graphics don't make up for stupid looking stuff.

The game is not playable after the patch. Framerate is constant at 2 FPS - was at 15-25 FPS before. If i disable 'FixedProgram' in the config file i get over 30 FPS, but the game crashes every 10 seconds. I'm using a macbook. CCP please fix the framerate problem otherwise the game is not playable at all. Thank you.

Eum.. Alt-tab crashes the client when running multiple clients on a major part of eve.. i wouldn't call it more stable...

I could not even get the patch to finish updating before it crashed and left me with the (Incompatible Build!) Server Status error. My experience:
1) Auto patcher didn't come up, so I manually downloaded the patch and hit the EXE file, as directed on the website. 2) Manual Patcher failed at the very end. Now I'm left with an out-of-date version; cannot connect. 3) Thankfully, I still had the EVE Premium installer. Reinstalled the whole client (which has now screwed my SSH tunnel, sigh--will probably post for help about that in a different thread). 4) For whatever reason, Auto Patcher appears on this freshly-installed version. That does its thing, and then *it* fails at the end too.
So I'm stuck with the old build, can't connect, and my SSH tunnel setup got messed up in the process.
Has anyone else had trouble just trying to *install* the patch, regardless of what the patch itself has broken/fixed?
I respect CCP a lot for all the work they've done on this beautiful game. Kudos to them. But I don't understand how a patch itself can crash before it fixes anything... seems counterintuitive to the whole idea of patching. Is there a patch for the patcher?

Im sure it wont be helpful, but I too am experiencing such a severe drop in fps, that I cannot imagine trying to use my pvp character.
As things stand this boost patch has completely undone all 'the need for speed initiative'.
Since the game is actually unplayable (except for market/industrial activities) I guess the best I can do is wish the devs luck in finding the bug as soon as possible.
I dont want to read through all 20 pages of this thread, but have the devs acknowledged the existence of the performance bug yet? I would regard this as more serious than a few flaws with tutorial missions which have been acknowledged.
The one thing I can smile about (and hope the devs can too), is the irony in the declaration of the patch being 'nerf free'.
On the contrary, it appears to have nerfed everything. Even the ability to play.

EDIT: Tried the Auto Patcher again, got this error:
VERIFICATION FAILURE "The patch was downloaded but it failed verification indicating that the file is corrupt. Would you like to download the file again?
You will not be able to enter the game until you download the patch."
Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Reinstall the game and obviously use a fresh download of the client (with the patch already applied) to install it.

Look, it worked before - after the patch it doesn't. So why shall I fix something? There are many others around here... do you think some small Gremlin infected our PC over night? *hehe*
Anyway... CCP will do the job ;)

Folks (running EVE Premium client) with FPS issue might want to check their graphics interval. "Default interval" FPS is now about twice as slow in Trinity 1.1. "Immediate" returns most of the FPS back, but I hazard a guess that it might not be too stable on systems that has a hot running video card.
I feel CCP is severely lacking in keeping customers informed on certain technical aspects and keeps many of us guessing. This thread is very unwieldy for a one-stop information center to folks looking for the most current information for Trinity 1.1 issues. I don't see why haven't CCP assign a dedicated person(s) for a 1-2 week duration post-patch to post up issues reported (whether valid or not) for the public to see, including workarounds/solutions to them. You'll save a lot of grief and it will minimize the negative goodwill/perception from customers.
Sheesh.

One positive note about the fps issue. Doing stuff in station is much less laggy, and quite possibly a better frame rate.
Its when I undock that the performance pains begin.
I have a suspicion that ccp have fixed something that caused poor responsiveness in station, but in doing so, broke something for when in space? Pure speculation I know, but if a devs reading the thread and any posts helps with a possible solution idea, then they well worth writing

So you're saying... "Fact one:Before patch worked fine... Fact two:After patch, sucks balls.....
Conclusion: since CCP obviously can do no wrong, it is the responsibility of the user to tweak their system...which they didn't change."
Or am I misunderstanding you?

I beg to differ. You do enough missions to get 9.5 faction standing and then tell me you don't deserve a decent activity to partake in. Take away missions in hi sec and I'd quit and unsubscribe in less than 5 minutes.
Obviously you don't know much if anything about game balancing.
Have you ever heard about risk vs. reward? L4's has next to no risk, and still pays better than almost any 0.0/low-sec activities. They've also been boosted a lot in income over the last couple of years, and for balance reasons they really need a good fat wack with the nerf-bat.
I'm not talking about taking them away, but a 30% increase in NPC damage and tanking abilities is about what is needed to offset the boosts provided by rigs when they were introduced.
Wow, troll much? You are talking to a game designer so with what little respect you deserve, put a sock in it. If you'd like to discuss risk vs reward I'd be happy to educate you. If you were to make lvl 4 missions harder then what would be the point of it rather than heading straight to 0.0? Man you have an attitude problem and I'll be sure to use your name as a joke for an easter egg. In this line of work there is no excuse for lack of QA when you make as much money as an MMO provides. You can PM me with your misguided theories any time you want, so troll on.

OK I appreciate the help some people are given. Just got rid of all my spyware, did a virus scan, rebooted several times and uninstalled and reinstalled the eve client. This problem (of bad ffs) did not occur before the patch. I certainly hope this will be fixed as many people are simply unable to play because of this.

So, then why aren't you running level 4's if they are so great instead of complaining about the people who do?
Originally by: Kerfira They've also been boosted a lot in income over the last couple of years
Where the hell have you been and what game have you been playing? Seriously. In the last 18 months the bounty rewards on (mission) NPCs have been "balanced" DOWN three times. The number of NPCs on missions have been "balanced" DOWN three times, and their difficulty (i.e. damage and resists) "balanced" up three times. The loot tables have been messed with and/or "balanced" DOWN five times. And finally, the raw isk (and other) rewards for missions offered by agents have been "balanced" DOWN two times. So, how is all of this making missions create MORE income than they were before, EXACTLY?
Jeeze. Know what you're talking about before you post. You will embarrass yourself a lot less that way.....

I saw a dev post back on page 1 and 3 about known issues. Can we get an update on that, so we know we're being heard?
For myself, the overview/drone window & settings undock/login reset is the most annoying, particularly with all the hoops I've had to jump through to try to fix it. Pinning, unpinning, locking the pin from the esc window, restting default positions, removing settings and cache subfolders from all the nooks and crannies of a half a dozen file locations...shoot, the bug report alone took me hours to compile.
I'm also seeing a problem with my hanger items window being the same as a wreck cargo window. I don't care for that at all. Please make them go back to being separately sizable/positionable.
I'd also like to voice my interest in having the cargo button hotkey toggle-able again, instead of the new open-only nonsense.

I can't promise anything but I've had FPS weirdness on my one system for a long time. All I would do is alt-tab from windowed to full screen or full screen to windowed and the FPS would increase some, enough to make it playable. This is true after acceleration gates in missions. On warp in I'd find a low FPS then do alt-tab and waahlaah, I can play it ok. These aren't huge jumps in FPS but enough to make an noticable difference. The FPS meter shows a change from 4 to 6FPS or 8 to 11 but the increase in playability is great. Like many others I have noticed an decrease in FPS in places I didn't have a low (slideshow) FPS before. My work around above seemed to work in these situations... give alt-tab a try.
P.S. I noticed energy weapon crystals now stack in ship cargo as they are unloaded from the weapons... thank you :) == Support fixing the EVE UI |

FEEDBACK ABOUT EXPLORATION
Specifically, radar sites.
One of the Patch Notes reads: "# Changes were made to loot tables for certain hacking containers. ". Well I certainly noticed that. Since trinity I didn't find any empty canister in hacking sites. In the first hacking site done after patch deployment I found two empty cans (if it can be of use, both cans were Blood Com Towers). What was that about a "no nerf" patch? I realize that there was too much good loot going around after trinity which drove some prices down the drain, but I don't know if making it rare again after the prices crashed will be any good for explorers. I don't think prices will rise that fast now that they crashed.
Now I realize the reasons for the devs not saying much about exploration, the more "mystery" is in the game the more entertaining the game is, but I think that in this case some dev should at least explain if this new behavior of cans is wanted or a bug that will be corrected.
