Well, I have skimmed through this topic and still found nothing about my problem. It has nothing to do with the application itself but I believe it was created by the patch.
PROBLEM: When I try to download the .cvs file for my corp's wallet transactions I get the following error page:
Server Error in '/' Application.
The resource cannot be found.
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.
Requested URL: /corp/WalletTransactions.csv.aspx
Accounting may not seem as fun as PVP but still has to be done and the more the file is unreachable, the more paperwork gets piled up.
If this is not the proper place to inquire about this, I'd appreciate some1 poiting in the right direction.

Is it possible to make it so we can customize the open fleet invitation
For example Fleet "Invitation for roaming gang(Alliance)" That way there can be multiple links in an intel channel. And people can easily tell what gang they want/need to join.
this would make this new feature really brilliant. please do this. =)

Alt-Tab Problem
When ever I Alt tab. Eve doesn't really want to open back up for me. And when it does open back up. All of the station buttons have no names.(they are just blank boxes with the logo) And the same thing happens with the channels.
this needs to be fixed IMMEDIATELY. for people like myself that run two accounts and clients on one computer, this is devistating!! i use a logistics alt and my main to run missions and complexes etc. if i warp in to a room and get aggro and then i cant get my alt or my main to open up im screwed! this issue was around 2 patches ago and was quite bad, the last patch fixed it mostly, and now its back worse than ever! please please please fix this!!!!!!!!! http://enelaise.com/signatures/Please visit your user settings to re-enable images.[/url] |

FPS has dropped to the point of unplayability. Before patch, 50 FPS outside a station, now, 12 - 14.

Dear CCP,
Please move the LOAD button on the wallet screens back beside the filter fields/drop-downs where it was before. Then make the person that moved it to the extreme right side of the window buy the person that fixes it a beverage of their choice.

CCP, you cannot release a single patch without ******* up, can you?
the good thing is, CCP is a very predictable company. years have shown us that
a) it ALWAYS takes ridiculously long to deploy even the simplest of patches b) no patch deployment EVER goes smoothly c) no patch downtime EVER lasts as long as we were promised. there are always 'unexpected' glitches, problems and errors. d) every time you promise to fix the lag, and every time it only gets worse e) patches usually introduce a LOT more bugs than they fix f) your QA and testing teams SUCK.
feel free to expand that list if I have missed something

Restore the original functionality of the ALT key.
Oh, and fix the damn camera and self-brackets so they're aligned properly for directional scanning. |

I can't imagine that if more people were doing this, that the builds would have as many bugs in them as they do now. The test server is a great tool that CCP offers it's players. They could just roll out patches and be like "SURPRISE. You won't be able to play now."
The patch notes should come out earlier though imo. Also, the test server should be easier to setup and access... I don't care much for having to copy my eve folder everytime to install new patches (maybe i'm the only one with this problem).
Btw CCP, Great work adapting to the situation and getting things back up.
There is this new-fangled concept in software development, it's called QA. Brilliant in its simplicity, it involves paying people who know how to test software to verify your product is working properly.
What you suggest is that I, a customer who pays to play a game, should take a paying job from these hard working professionals. Worse, you are saying that I should pay someone else for the privilege of testing their product and writing up bugs.
I'm not that masochistic.

For those of you missing their in-game browser book marks, they are not gone, simply not carried over to the new folder structure.
Old structure:
C:\Documents and Settings\%localuser%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\cache\browser
New structure:
C:\Documents and Settings\%localuser%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility\cache\Browser
The file in question is called "bookmarksSites.txt". Simply copy then paste the file from the original browser folder to the new one. As I had many painstakingly collected sites on my browser, I was daunted at the task of having to go out and find them again.
Now that I know where they are, I am backing up this small file as needed before another patch removes it entirely.
Hope this eases the pain for some of you!

Why did the Raptor got nerfed?
+ 1 turret slot is nice but I dont think needed and I think ppl would be much more happier about more power than more turret slots whitch with the current layout you can't use without fitting mods anyway. Now you simply got to much CPU and to low power on the Raptor.
Turrets require more power than missles so it would be logical to reduce the cpu and leave or even boost the power if you turning the ship into a gun boat.
So I just would like to know why.
thx.

The good: I love the way my jump freighter moves now!
The bad: The Market quick-bar is badly screwed up. Adding new items sometimes overwrites old items. I couldn't put more than 4 items into a folder as adding a fifth would overwrite one of the others. And the sorting of items is done according to some scheme I have yet to figure out.

Edited by: Romandra on 13/03/2008 21:25:44 I'm curious about why some modules got nerfed.
I remember reading that this patch "will not contain a single nerf", yet the faction passive shield resist amps all got nerfed. Ex., DG magnetic scattering amp used to give 40%, now its 37.5%, same at t2.
Also, Pithum C-type Magnetic Scattering Amplifier is now BETTER than the B-Type! They both give 39% resist, but the C-Type uses LESS cpu than the B-Type does... what sense does that make?
I'm sure these aren't the only modules to get nerfed.. is this an accident? perhaps the tables got shifted somehow?

Just to reiterate previous mentions. After trying to enter the game I keep getting stuck at the Entering game as *** dialogue. It simply will not progress from there. As bad, when it did work once it struck again after undocking!
I'm hoping this is a load issue given all the GMT players no doubt logging in right now and downloading the patch. I can survive another day without Eve Online even if 2 of my paid-for 30 days is mysteriously vanished from my control. Patches are like that...
No other issues to report until I can actually enter the game and see space :).

That's what happens to me when I try to login my Jita alt. After a while it seems to time out and return to the login screen. I did log in the Jita alt successfully earlier today when the server was less busy, so hopefully it's just an overload issue which will resolve itself eventually.
Did you try your other alts?

judging by the posts already in this thread it appears that happy days are here again, courtesy of CCP and their 'eagerly anticipated' remediation patch.

This will be impossible to judge. This is going to go right down to the wire, the competition is that tough. Can Zulupark build upon his history of cluelessness, or will one of the fresher faces involved in game design come to the fore and win?

More issues,
The default tab in overview seems to pick at random which overview settings to use, doesn't accept a change if you set it and switch tab and go back to the default one. A way to delete it would be much appreciated.
Client is a lot more resource heavy (classic) now, memory leaks?
Alt key does nothing, this is the whole "small system overview in the scanner window" issue all over again, a change of a much used and loved feature. A change which retracts from the gaming experience, has no point and ultimately takes fun away from the game. Bracket sorting? Whatever, if it means Alt key stops working then No thanks.
Making these very intrusive changes and function trade offs to the default behavior of the client and not adding user settable options to remove these changes is lousy design at best.
A little hint: Every new feature added should be de-selectable by the user (I applaud the welcoming screen implementation), don't implement these half baked features as standard and impossible to change features. Forcing your user base to use the bug ridden features is probably the worst thing you can do.

Not sure if this belongs here but theres a kinda critical bug.
If you have an active trade window with items in and both players log. Then whatever is in the trade window will vanish.

Post Patch Thoughts:
#1. CCP, do WHATEVER you have to to improve Q&A. Because, what you have been doing for the past 5 years is NOT working. I know you guys are slow to learn/change, but surely 5 years of the players paying for your stubborness is enough.
#2. Stop adding so many new things that don't work. New things are uber cool, but if you don't QA them properly, and they don't work, what good are they? Focus on fixing the last bunch of stuff you broke before moving on to new stuff to break. Please.
#3. The shield and armor nerf. Of all the legions of bad ideas you have had over the years, this one is the worst. How this made it live after it was HEAVILY voted against by the player base is a prime example of how the (balancing) devs have become totally corrupt, involved with their own egos, and completely out of touch with the players. Put it back if you want to keep accounts. Period.
#4. Fix the alt key. Why was this changed in the first place? Another in a long line of stuff out of the dev department that doesn't make any sense.
#5. Focus on giving full compatability with all of the OSes you CLAIM to support before going on game breaking sprees like this one.
#6. Changes, balances, nerfs, whatever you want to call them; they should take AS (or near as) long to implement in game as it does to train to adapt to their use. I.E. If it takes two years to train a race to fly it well, that is how long major nerfs (like game wide resistance changes) should be in testing before they go live. If WE have to train it, YOU should have to test it. Period. Yes, that leads to a much less changing, more STABLE playing experience; which is kind of my whole point. Change IS good. It keeps the game fresh. But, too MANY changes, TOO drastically made, and TOO rapidly implemented, is only good for the people charging for the long trains needed to adapt. It's the simple truth.
On a comment to all of the people that keep saying the resist nerf is a damage boost, all I can say is you have it backwards. If something goes DOWN on the ship you are flying, that only helps someone shooting at you kill you faster, then yeah, you have been NERFED. The guy shooting at you has NOT been "boosted". He is doing the same amount of damage he always has. YOU just can't tank it as long. So the tanks HAVE been nerfed. Damage has NOT been boosted. Hence, it is a GIANT nerf that CCP is trying to get all of us to swollow as a "boost". (/sarcasm on) After all, remember good little children, we don't have to THINK, CCP is there to tell us what is black and what is white in spite of what our eyes might tell us. (/sarcasm off)
Last comment on the resistance nerf: Even if we were to buy into the line that the "balanceing" devs are selling that the resist nerfs ARE a damage boost, they forgot about a major issue (as usual). What about the mission runners? You know, half your player base, the PvEers, remember them? Explain how the player's resistances going down, and the NPCs resistances staying the same, or even going up in some cases, is a damage "boost" for the player. Go ahead, explain it. Can't do it, can you? Didn't think so.
FIX the game CCP, stop BREAKING it.
Peace.

Im sure you guys were looking to improve the overview functionality.
As its possible that this was overlooked. The removal of the "alt" key to bring up brackets of all major objects in space instantly, has removed the ability to scan down people and objects such as towers quickly and efficiently.
At this time I am told theres a way to get it working in the overview but my take on this is switching between tabs is Much slower then just holding down the alt key and Instantly with no tab lag see the objects in space.
example. hostile interceptor uncloaks and pretty much insta warps to a cluster with 20 moons and 5 belts in it, but right beside it just outside of 5 degrees there are 4 other clusters. With the holding down of the tab key you were able to instantly see the bracket for your ship which you brought into alignment with the cluster at 5 Degree's. You knew right away that the inty was or wasn't going to that cluster.
Now with the tab to be clicked with no bracket around your ship by the time you have gotten everything kinda aligned the inty is gone. Or, you are now reading them anywhere up to 30 degrees off angle and you are unable to determine which of those 4 clusters he might be in.
All in all i believe that the Alt key should be returned to its former function. seeing that it was not broken and was extreamly useful.

From the patch notes:
"It is now possible to allow people to invite themselves to your fleet. The fleet boss can put the fleet into self-invite mode for his corporation or alliance. Anyone in the fleet will then be able to right click on his entry in a chat window to post the invitation into that channel. This feature is very convenient to quickly set up fleets."
This just doesn't work. Yes I can set the fleet open to self invite for corp members. But then it's a dead end, no way (and I tried for 30 minutes) is it possible for a corp member to self invite himself to an existing fleet (which is the purpose of it all). The patch notes description doesn't make ANY sense after the part that stated that you can set an fleet to self invite.
Problems with the text:
1. How on earth can you self invite yourself to a fleet when you have to be in that fleet already to do so? 2. How does right clicking on yourself to get an invitation message for yourself to click on accomplish anything?
What madman thought this out? Is it broken, is the text false, and if so, what is it supposed to be? The problem is that now 'auto reject invites' also rejects fleet invites where before it did not. This forces people to use this feature so they cannot be 'chat invite' exploited during battle (assuming they are already in a fleet and fleet invites will thus bounce off). Problem is getting into the fleet with an obviously complicated non understandable mechanismn which could just have been implemented by two mouse click from the boss (as is now) and any other member (corp/alliance) that wishes to join.
To make matters worse, two coporations not together in an alliance will find it implossible to be both protected from invite exploits and be able to form a fleet in the 1st place. For this idea to work, you need:
1. To re-enable fleet invites when 'auto reject invitations is on'
and/or
2. Add a 3rd option, that allows members with a positive standing (or variations thereof) to join. And of cource make the self invite feature work in the first place to begin with!
Any constructive feedback is welcome!
