The UI is on even more ***** than usual. Docking/Undocking pretty much results in seizers.
Flipping back and forth between two clients ultimately and repeatably results in at least one of them crashing. (I'm using classic graphics and this was never a problem before)
Why did you **** with the alt key? Alt-z does not do what the alt key use to....I want to be able to see the brackets on moons again!
The market quickbar is nolonger in alphabetical order and adding lots of stuff to multiple folders results in existing entries disappearing. Between those two issues it is almost unusable for those who do large volumes of trading.
No responses? Really? Would it kill you to say "we're on it."
Honestly, I think we're at the point where this patch has screwed up so much stuff that you should role back to an earlier version, modify only the stats on ships and worry about all the bells and whistles later. Oh, you should also sack your entire QA department. You know, the guys that missed boot.ini being deleted from the root directory last patch and missed half a dozen serious errors this patch....

Some people of.c. disagree with this as they're too narrow-minded to see beyond their own little favorite ship....
Keep in mind that a significant amount of the concern here is less about the specific balance and more about the perspective and process that went into it. CCP indicated that the changes were tested and balanced against 0.0 PvP and only this playstyle case, which is going to rather displease other types of players (who are already a bit sore from this attitude). Yes it probably is a type of whining but when you feel slighted as second class citizens by people you are giving money too, yeah, people get a bit ****ed. Esp when it is a recurring (but not universal) pattern.
What types of players apart from PvP'ers got affected by the balancing in this patch?
Industrialists? Not really. Explorers? Not really.
No ships got nerfed individually (all boosts), so I guess you're whining about mission running and the (small) general resist changes... Mission runners has been boosted a lot over the last couple of years. First there were the HP boost, then the introduction of rigs (3xCCC = MASSIVE increase in tanking, plus the extra earnings). I didn't hear you complain then. Mission running NEEDED (for game balance purposes) to be taken down a notch, and the resist changes are not even enough. Having a safe space activity being more profitable than 0.0 activities is not good for the game.
I beg to differ. You do enough missions to get 9.5 faction standing and then tell me you don't deserve a decent activity to partake in. Take away missions in hi sec and I'd quit and unsubscribe in less than 5 minutes.

CCP...
Pimp my ALT key!
Alt-z does not do what alt used to. It was a vital tool in scanning people down efficiently which you just nerfed the crap out of.
Give it back.
Please.

I beg to differ. In fact, as a manufacturer/hauler/trader this patch has been pretty disastrous for me: details here. ------------------------------------------------- When Carebears Attack! <-- Hulk PvP video |

Oh - My - God - The - Whining!!!!
Disastrous???
#1: Slightly longer warp time? Disastrous? (i did try this y'day. No significant difference) #2: This still works. 15 degrees is close enough, assuming your instas are correct. However on one of the caldari station types (the flat one with the narrow and blocked exit) you now exit at a different angle (and a much better one). Make a new insta and the problem goes away. #3: Your own fault. Stay out of Jita. That something is not fixed is not a nerf, but simply something not fixed. #4: Poor you. No alphabetical sorting....
Damn, I think we have a strong contender for 'Supreme Whiner' here....

Obviously you don't know much if anything about game balancing.
Have you ever heard about risk vs. reward? L4's has next to no risk, and still pays better than almost any 0.0/low-sec activities. They've also been boosted a lot in income over the last couple of years, and for balance reasons they really need a good fat wack with the nerf-bat.
I'm not talking about taking them away, but a 30% increase in NPC damage and tanking abilities is about what is needed to offset the boosts provided by rigs when they were introduced.

I'd agree that whining is not productive, but: 1: They have to read these posts to obtain information on bugs players are reporting - and what the players are trying from their end to fix things. 2: It is the tiniest amount of work on top of wading through all this to actually post a note saying 'note taken of this, this and this, working on the first, second confirmed as bug etc.. ' - and potentially saves their paying customers wasted hours of fixes from their end. 3: It is a (missed) opportunity to give guidance to customers as to the kind of feedback information needed (what tech info to include in reports, no more reports needed of a/b/c etc). This is the kind of thing I have organised in tech support for no less that 4/5 of the UK's biggest ISP's, and would regard as standard industry practice with any fault let alone major outages. I am also happy to do this for CCP if they pay me! |

Not sure yet - not been on long enough to test and not going to be atm.. : 1. Alt-tab seems more stable 2. Alt-esc pretty much 100% guaranteed to cause a lockup of even 1 client.. |

I had an odd problem after installing the patch. Once I logged in, EVE kept trying to access my empty DVD drive. I had to open the drive to stop this. I am running the classic client on Windows XP Media Center.
I have not had the opportunity to log in since, but once I do I will see if this problem is repeatable and if so, file a bug report.

Assuming it persists I would attempt reinstalling before filing a bug report. I haven't seen anyone else report this issue so more likely than not some file got corrupted during the download/install of the patch and it will be fixed by reinstalling the client.

I wanted to start off by saying 'Great Job', but I think I'll settle for 'Good Try'. I really do like everything you tried to do, and for the most part its playable. But like many others, I can't beat my overview into submission, my CPU is spitting out fireballs, the FPS readout looks like a roller coaster ride, the bracket settings are... whatever, my god why play with the Alt key.
Thanks, have a nice day :) |

Another problem when quitting EVE:
System freezes for about 20 seconds - black screen and mouse arrow from EVE can be seen - than it goes back to Windows desktop.
I don't think this is "normal" ;)

I have some issues, mainly fps drop on drone-action/rats getting near, and that unable to check info on untrained skill. But I think that it's nice patch and I'm pleased. That openfleet (haven't tested yet) sounds great. |

I believe that's because the EVE client is throwing an exception as it's closing. Why? I have no idea. But I have Visual Studio 2005 installed on my PC as well, and I would say roughly 85% of the time now when I exit the client the system asks me if I'd like to use Visual Studio JIT Compiler to debug the unhandled exception.

Classic unplayable on 1 year old decent system. Worked good before patch. Why am i getting 12 fps in one system with 300 people (orsulaert) and then go to 0.0 with 20 people and getting 4 fps? ATTN CCP, not everyone is a metagamer and spends 5 grand on a beast of a comp, give us something playable, not latest and greatest.
P.S. underpromise and overdeliver, look like a hero next time instead of, well, FAIL

Alt key changes.
If it isn't broke, don't fix it.
There was no need to remove the Directional Scanner UI from the Directional Scanner (Yes I know it moved, but why?) I got over it though, I didn't need it but it sure as hell made it easier to use. And that's what it comes down to really, no wonder people complain about the UI in this game when you have to have seperate settings for a mechanic that worked FINE before.
Now the moons are terribly difficult to scan for and narrowing down your scan on weird ship models is also difficult _______________
