All this exploits was discovered by Abuser more than 2 years ago, and as we can see now nothing changed - there are a lot abilities to cheat.
1. There are people who can't use it (they are not programmers).
2. There are people who use it for their bots. But CCP don't try to fight them (why???).
3. There are people who use it to kill bots. But they decided they are gods and started to kill regular players. (why???)
4. There are people who can use it but want fairplay, so they are playing game without cheating. But then somebody start to kill people with the use of exploits (3) they want to fix it. That's why this thread is here!
And if you are in 1 category it's you own trouble. There are a lot of people with great programming experience in eve, sadly a lot of them in 2 and 3 categories...

Unfortunately for CCP, from the evidence collected so far by independent investigators, the issue is rooted in the very basement of the EVE protocol design :/
I just hope they have enough man-power to at least implement proper logging where it's lacking.
EDIT: I mean, to do it quickly enough to not cause much more grief, as this issue came to the public attention. |

If this is a problem it'll get taken care of one way or the other. With this much attention the obvious effect is more people attempting to duplicate it. If it's true then some will succeed, some will fail but the obvious result will be more complaints until CCP has to do something.

You know what I find amusing? That the ones knocking down the proofs are the same ones accusing Russians of being in-game cheaters.
In other words, to prove that Pandemic Legion is cheating will require proof without an ounce of doubt to convince you.

Not that I don't believe that SOME Russians ARE using macros. But I think it's funny how the ones refusing to accept the proof that PL is cheating are quite quick in accusing all Russians of cheating. Where's the infallible proof that all Russians are cheating so we can start picking them off with "that's doctored" and "meh, that doesn't prove anything"  . Or is no proof needed to accuse all Russians of cheating?
I say BAN ALL MACROERS - all Russians cheating AND all Pandemic Legion cheaters.

I find it fu-cking hilarious that after 100's of posts of paying customers of an obvious exploit, which delivers a clear advantage to players who would abuse it, we have still not seen any reply from CCP to the community regarding it.
Apparently when you sell an MMO you don't have any accountability to your customers.
(yes its an exploit, its being recreated on regular basis and has been known as an exploit for a long while now...)

Actually not only russians use macro-hunting and mining bots. I've traveled around whole eve universe and seen bot'o'ravens almost in each and every 0.0 region, piloted by characters resembling average european/american player's character (nicknames and bios of russian/chinese macro hunters and their corps is pretty specific imo).
As for the topic - i hope monkeyshere and everyone who dealt with exploit development and abuse will be punished. This is long-lasting story, so it's quite surprising that it have gone public only recently.

Well, if its really happening it needs sorting and fixing, and bans if there is evidence on the server.
Regardless, how about they immediately level the playing field in 0.0, easy to do, just make local delayed like it should be and everyone is in the same boat...

That was no rant, I was just pointing out how suddenly we arnt in-game and now you pretend like the rules don't matter. Why should the rules only matter in-game, seems somewhat hypocritical of people claiming to be on some holy brigade against the forces of anti-macro goodness!

Even a 1 minute is enormous advantage. Say, you have 0.0001% chance to catch bot in real conditions, with 1 minute advantage it'll be closer to 50%, with 5 minutes - almost 100%. Same for real player, but with slightly better chances as human reaction time is far from being just couple of milliseconds...
