Ghost training has been happening since before I started to play the game. I remember the first time I quit EVE, I trained up caldari frigate V "just in case I wanted to come back".
I wonder how many people are going to quit, not be able to train a skill, and then just forget about the game, since they aren't progressing and have no reason to reactivate.

No to very few capsuleers care if other people ghost train. This change on it's own seems like an attempt to grab more money, if we don't get a skill queue. People only suggested it in the first place as a possible solution to the problems that a limited skill queue might cause. So please just say if this is part of the plan to implement the skill queue or a money grab. Don't hide behind excuses.

I totally disagree with this change. Having ghost training is a great incentive for players to return and resub after having that long skill training over the summer holidays. What is better than coming back to Eve then with BS V done, it's like a little gift to the players. Very disagreeable change.

The fact that you guys didn't think this through and how much revenue you're going to actually lose from this change is frightening. This is coming from someone who has never let their accounts lapse - you guys are really screwing over loyal customers. It's a transparent money grab. You've shown that you care very little about the loyal customers who have stuck with your buggy game for years and want more of the quick, easy (chinese isk farmer) cash. Nice job. On second thought, you probably shouldn't have slept through that micro economics course after all.

I think this is a good thing. I've had short breaks myself but I think this will be a good thing in long term. I can see there's several problems with being able to train while inactive since you can have multiple accounts etc.
I can also imagine this will annoy people who've been kind of "farming" characters or have more than 1-2 accounts etc.
At the end I think it's still fair deal that you pay for the time your character is training.

The question is, how many people actually let account payments slip while training those rank 8-14 skills?
Complaining is a bit like complaining wow wont let you log in to grind because you haven't paid, but why should you pay as you are only macro grinding XP not actually playing the game.
There is no such thing as a free lunch.....

It's like you're trying to kill the game.
You already vastly increased the price of playing the game, creating pressure towards training skills on lapsed accounts amongst multiple-account players.
Now you're punishing the players that are responding the the changes in the market that you created.
What happens when you do this?
People consolidate accounts and you lose overall revenue.

People are looking for the best value for their dollar, especially now. Why the hell are they going to pay for this shitty game when CCP keep taking the feature away that make the game unique?
Sure, I love paying above-average MMO prices for a game that's continuously becoming just like all the others, except where it really matters: cost.

so ok i wont have any more than two accounts.
you do realise ccp that most ppl that do this do it on there 3rd,4th 7th account. you will loose money from alot of ppl i know. you should be activly encouraging ppl to buy extra accounts not dicorage. if your going to do this make power of two permenent?
and upset the ballance of the game? have i missed out on somthing. can som1 pls tell me how being active in watching industial 5 train will make it take less time.

Terrible idea... terribe.
Granted, there are few who abuse the system, but using this approach will hurt more ppl by restricting it...
One thing off my head is, its unfair to the newer players vs the older ones, who mostly took at least 1 month break off eve at some point, to train battleship skill to lvl5 while inactive...
Now newer players have no choise but to train it actively while playing... not to mention those who are tired of eve, and do something new while taking a break, and want to come back to try something new.. wont come back (Capital ships 5 - titans, anyone?)
I hope you come to your senses, or rot in hell

A sudden implementation of a terrible idea. Who hires people at CCP?
CCP will gain some money from those who are actively "ghost training", but will lose much more from other current customers. All of those customers who pop back in from time to time will be lost due to this ******ed and sudden change.
Obviously CCP has lost their quality gaming roots and have completely lost touch with the game they created. Its a shame. Businessmen are very poor at making decisions that relate to maintaining a good game, and the employees hired to "balance" the game have been failing much more than the stock market as of late.
Hire some new people who are actually creative, fair, and who work for the benefit of the game, and then and only then will threads like this matter. Until then, EVE will continue to be a failure cascade of poor in game and out of game design decisions that it has been as of late.
