We asked for skill queue training. Skill queue training cant coexist with ghost training. Ergo they were removing ghost training.
I say were because i don't think they will anymore. Guess skill queue training gets the ax in favour of ghost training.
Paid account = skill queue continues Not paid account = skill left training finishes up, but next skill does not continue training = no need to remove ghost training

Certainly the more stupid move done by CCP.
I did few breaks in the past and was happy to see some long skills completed (same if I lost many days as I didn't return in Eve the day where skills were completed, maybe 20/30 days), who make the game more interresting. First time, BS V, second time, Cruiser V (so few days after, HAS), etc... who give me a new enjoyment in this game.
Eve Online, as all others MMORPGs, can become annoying with time, and make the player stop the game.
But Eve Online is the only one who permit to discover new things after a break, as the Ghost Training permit to break an annoying limit sometimes, so open new gameplays.
I just planned to do a break in one month, and train a prerequisite skill for Carriers, but as I will not be able to do this, I don't see a reason to stop the break in the future, as I would return to the last annoying statement of my account.
Welp... Do as you wish. It is not the first time that CCP disappoint me with some nerfs and it seems that CCP like do this, but this one is probably the last.
I hope that you will rollback and make some excuses to the player community in few days. ____
14/20 Revelations : Desyncs... 11/20 Trinity : BBSOD, Bugs, Desyncs, F*** Nerfs 10/20 1.1 : [...] + EXP shield nerf 07/20 ½ Not a single nerf + : What ?!? CCP is the real problem of EVE |

Well that would be fine it was just a 5 day skill, but there are skills that will span months. So yes, there is a need to to remove ghost training because it makes those 2 months skills much easier to obtain.

Personally, I never let my accounts lapse but it would be nice to have the option to put an account on hold whilst I'm on holiday or perhaps have unforeseen financial issues and still have the comfort of knowing that the skill that I last set will at least complete - so IÆd prefer ghost training to stay as it is.
In addition to this I would really like CCP to either give us a decent way into the account system from a mobile phone of some sort to allow us to change a skill when we are just unable to get to a proper computer etc... ( IIRC they mentioned this in EON #1 or #2)
I truly believe that CCP are just turning the screws to make even more money. By removing ghost training from those who do let their accounts lapse at times but leave a long skill in training - it just forces people to pay subs or their char stops training - maybe this is just fair for us all? I still don't like it even if people do just ghost train their chars and sell them.
I already hate not being able to train a secondary char on my account to a different skill set so am forced to have multiple accounts should I wish to spec chars in different areas. How about 1/2 training time for a second char or something? Give us something instead of take, take, take.
And talking about CCP and money, didn't CCP scrap the 90d and 30d in favour of a 60d? Therefore increasing prices by stealth? Money, money, money.... Shame on you CCP!
If it's not a nerf bat of some sort, it's a prices going up and now this! How about give us something for a change instead of hiking prices and nerfing the system to force people to A) have multiple accounts B) make us pay more.
So CCP, how about some compromises? Remove ghost training, but allow us to train 2nd chars at 50% gain and allow us to change skills from the online accounts page via a mobile phone browser or do what you said you would do in and write an app for mobiles to allow skill changes.

While true, what else are main selling points for EvE other than the ghost training, what seperates it from other MMOs?

This is very true. The only reason I've lasted so long is because if I get sick of the game I can stop playing it for a month and fly HAC's or use T2 autocannons the next time I think of playing EVE. If my skills stop, it totally ruins the excitement of coming back. NOT TO ****ING MENTION WHEN MY GTC RUNS OUT, I'D HATE TO LOSE 2 DAYS WORTH OF TRAINING, just because the icelandic krona is weak and it's getting harder and harder to buy euros (or subscriptions paid with euros, how's about selling EVE in krona too, jerks?

Like I said, "ghost training" was a selling point. It seperated Eve from every other MMORPG. If you think that's silly, that's fine. I won't be around much longer to bug you anyway.
Well what this means if you have to have a paid account to train the skill when you are offline. The skill still trains when you are offline, and that still separates Eve from every other MMORPG. |

For a company that's built a pretty complex game based around consequences of choices, they sure have a hard time figuring out the consequences of their own development and customer service choices.

I read about the first page and decided that since CCP didnÆt make the obvious point of why they are really doing this I will.
Money.
Iceland is on the verge of national bankruptcy, they screwed up and based there economy on massive amounts of debt and now it has come to bite them in the ass.
I saw a news story about it a few days ago and was wondering when CCP was going to screw there playerbase in order to hopefully not go down with a sinking island.
I am very sad to see this happen, I have been facing RL issues and have been unable to keep a steady active account, the only reason I re-activated was because a long skill finished, and it would give me the opportunity to one day fly the massive ships I wanted to.
This is how I got dreadnaut 5, muraders 5, and a whole list of other level 5 skills.
A foolish choice of words to say the least as to the reason. You should have told the truth, I can understand that the bank is about to eat your ass and you need to get active accounts. I wouldnÆt have liked it any more, but I could have understood it.
As soon as I am able I am logging in and unlocking my BPOÆs to sell them to make up for a large debt that I have gotten. If this does go into effect and there isnÆt something that blows me away to replace it I will have no reason to re-activate my account afterwards. (and before you ask, I donÆt have anything to give away all my gear got blown up in a POS a few weeks ago, not CCPÆs fault but another reason why I see no reason to come back)
You are trying to take one of the things that makes the game great to those who canÆt really afford the MMO addiction every month.
I know you probably donÆt care at this point, but I for one will probably be jumping to another game and will pimp that at my Sci-Fi convention next spring. I appreciate the help you gave to us a few years ago, but you have continuously ignored and screwed your players.
Remember this CCP: a negative review spreads itself quickly, a positive one stops after about 3 people and you had to pay the first.

Quote: your market orders and research points should stop as well. After all, with market orders up you can make money while your account is expired. With research points you can continue to accumulate them while your account is expired, and when you re-subscribe you come back to a fat amount of RPs that you can cash in for ISK. That is entirely inconsistent with the ghost training thing.
If CCP wants to remove ghost training then they should also remove market orders from inactive accounts, and stop inactive accounts from acquiring RPs.
Dividend payouts to inactive shareholders as well, those should be stopped.
This must be put into action if ghost training is no longer allowed. I put my time and effort into keeping my accounts subscribed, a player that is inactive should not get the same benefit of datacores and passive income at all.
