Hell, I'd be all for it. As long as they can't rely on local to automate their ****, that's all I'm asking. Knowing that no-one shows in local, I'll still be probing for their ass.
Kill local. Please.

Romek if you can link to KM's of his (or someone somewhere) that could prove impossibility to travel between targets in the time set then this would be another red flag.
Who knows how many times and for how long this exploit has been used? CCP needs to tell us something, even a "We're looking into it" will suffice for now.

Most likely macro raven logged off. Had extremly fun and entertaining experience hunting guy named like fghjke.

Just how many of those empty systems you passed through looking for ratters were really empty?
Most likely all of em. Otherwise Monkey killing spree is unexplainable. See, pro-botters are like some small secret circle, just like crackers etc. It a subculture within subculture. And know what happens when one in small subculture catches AIDS ? I saw this happen with moscow LARP community. EVERYONE WENT TO SEE A DOCTOR. Same with cheats.

It's possible even the botters knew of this exploit...that way if it got out they'd know exactly how to duplicate it to show to people.
genius.
the thing is, everyone in the game is now equally suspect.

I honestly think we cannot say who has or hasn't used this exploit, only CCP can confirm that (Ihope) but we now definitely know that the exploit is real.. that's not good.
How long has it been around ? How many ppl knew and how many used it ? Did CCP know and just not do anything ? It's bad enough that this game is still apparently riddled with botters who get an advantage over me and other straight players financially, now I got to accept that some players can use God mode to kill my ship when i pvp ?
Seriously CCP, sort this out and pls, tell us WTF is going on because this is too big of an exploit just to be able to get away with a quiet hotfix and hope nobody notices, we, your paying customers and FAIR, EULA ABIDING PLAYERS want some answers.
Thx.

IF it's true, you should be starving, bro. have you EVER heard about common used web debugging tools like fiddler or charlies? it will not help you to exploit eve, but surely will help you to earn 20$ to pay your account.

Had a great miner last night who kindly "donated" several mil worth of ice into a jetcan
But anyway, thanks to you I will now be scanning those systems, just to be sure.

Saved a screenshot, but I doubt if it's anything new to the folks that's aware of this.
P.S There was a mysterious 1 day old char "Sisi Test" that came into HED-GP via Keberz, apparently using the same exploit - but he appeared to have logged shortly thereafter. Oh, The Monkeysphere came onto the channel too, observing for whatever reasons.

Me too, I contributed a lot to the trolling but now I feel quite bad knowing that this is true.
However, I believe the people who initially complained were macros and I still find it rich that they complain about someone exploiting when they are cheating too.

Looking at baltec1's other responses I figure he's just slow. Give him a break.
Earlier in this thread he claimed knowledge of botter infestations. Now he thinks they are invisible. It's useless. ...

Well..now,as i think, from being ganked end it looks exactly like superfast travel, pilot sits in some belt 66 AU from only gate, reads local, then bam...appears Monkey, and after 5-10 sec pilot is pointed, follows dps gank jumping in.He probably switches local on,while warping to 0,after scanned hunter out to 100%,and BM-ing him.Would be weird to be pointed by uncloaked ship, still NOT in local.THAT would be noticed in first week of abuse, but to switch local back last 3-5 sec....might be clever, and enough to catch opponent.

Looking back the reply is a bit cryptic on my part. I was agreeing and highlighting another area that this "trick" could cause problems in.

Not good at all.
Big thanks to Huhuhuhu for spending his time bringing this to light. Someone like him should be on CCPs payroll.

oh, thx, man. the problem is that i don't really wanna tell that genius tcp/ip coder about how exactly the exploit can be recreated. but he (and maybe you) got me: it really takes weeks and YEARS to push a button to create a pf rule using wireshark (he really used it, didn't he?)
or maybe he just handicapped.

"Nothing the EVE client can do can affect the game state, no advantage can be gained by manipulating the EVE client, no advantageous or disadvantageous information can be transmitted to other EVE users by altering the EVE client." ~attributed to CCP in first pb comment responding to Abuser's python source leak, now a full 2 years ago.
Even tho it's injection, so the client isn't modified directly, a response from CCP on the exploit will need to address this claim.
PL trolls back under their bridges? They've known this was real all along, has been for a long time, & did very well trying to derail it, hiding the truth in plain sight while dropping pooh all around it. |

Furthermore, details on similar delicate matters should be talked with the appropriate CCP personnel in charge, not to create a BOOM on the general forum.
Unfortunalety for CCP (i'm not repeating this too often?) such practice of private discussions showed it's complete incompetence in the past FOUR YEARS. Right now, it seems just that the only way to have CCP start fixing really critical issues, including fundamental design flaws, is to have the public discussion wide enough to create significant resonance. First public fail (to my understanding) was happened, when Abuser put EVE client source codes in public. He got his hands on it, inspected it and pointed out major issues. CCP refused to fix them... (Hearsays... but someone with better knowledge could always correct me, if i'm wrong) -- Thanks CCP for cu |
